I believe that one of our most serious mistakes is NOT asking other people what they think. Especially when they may have more experience than we do in the subject matter. Too many people plunge ahead with buying a house, a car, whatever, without asking anyone what they they think. This limits the person's information to only what they may know or THINK they know. The myopic way of brailling through life means we fail for lack of knowledge. Staying open to information from all respected sources is key to finding mentors for the longer journey, and getting snapshots life saving information from friends and family as well as from books. Being unsure of oneself in areas of limited experience is normal and is nothing to be ashamed of. What brings embarrassment is NOT asking anyone what they think, or reading books/articles on the subject to better inform oneself. Too many people, afraid of showing themselves to be uninformed, or insecure in their positions, display their ignorance by flying by the seat of their pants, and crashing down in finances, relationships, health and careers.

Damn true, I found that out with my relations with women. When I didnt get what I wanted and the level of respect I needed, I was simply getting rid of them and they all came back after a while, after few weeks, months and few even came back to have a go with me again after years. Because it stuck with them, the way I unapologetically just went on with my life after I was done with them. Nothing is more valuable for a man than respect, with respect come all the others including confidence.

After covid, when I finally came to the realization of what was going on with the pandemic and society in general, I became a conservative, and over night I no longer had to justify myself to anyone. It was a great weight taken off my shoulders. Now I just speak my mind, and if someone gets their feelings hurt(I don't go out of my way to hurt people's feelings though) that's their problem.

Yes. Most people don't even want to take responsibility for the hard decisions that they have to make in life. The reason for that is Fear!! Fear of being seen as a failure if things don't go to plan. Fear of becoming an outcast..... Why are most people like this? Because :Strong people bring good times. Good times bring weak people. Weak people bring bad times. Bad times bring Strong people. We are in bad times right now. And there are many weak people around. People who are afraid, who are like sheep following sheep and have to justify everything they do.

Arrghghhhhhhhhh l have a friend, no, 2 friends with wives like this... they tell me about it, and l look at myself and think "Yes, us women, passive- agressive, or rightly agressive, why do we do it?" and for me at least, when l have done it in the past (unfortunately l was doing this, to my great shame) , it has been mainly because of lack of courage of asserting myself at the time l needed to, and holding resentment about some foolish, non-important event which then built up into a verbal agressivity, and often, withholding affection. Interesting stuff, psychology.
WIth my friends, both of them it seems have accepted they aren't in the right relationship any longer but they feel unable to get out of it, one is that scared of his wife he won't even visit me because she thinks l am after him (l am not) and he has been forbidden to talk to me. If he stands up to her, then ther eis a huge argument and she rolls on the floor whist pulling her hair. He has not got the courage to even go to his family's to spend a few nights there, but l understand he feels he is under the thumb.
My other friend, if attempt to speak to his wife, (about the eggshells) she gets even madder at him and interrupts him (he is quite shy) and she doesn't let him speak, or disregards his attempts to assert himself. Fortunately, we are allowed to be friends so we can speak about it, and it is quite tricky to help him assert himself, as he has not done it in 20 years.
It is a lack of self-esteem at times which make us be in such situations, because we need the lesson to grow as better people.
l wish you courage and integrity, and as Bashar says, "how do you benefit from this situation" as it is all a lesson, to learn how to be human, as incarnated souls. We are a soul with a body! Good luck!
