That cannon variant looks so stunning, what an incredible aircraft, decades ahead of its time and still looks modern

The only surviving Me262 two seat night fighter is at the Johannesburg museum along with an Fw190 and an Me109 and a pristine 88mm flak gun.

in the late seventies/early eighties the RAAF Museum at RAAF Point Cook had a genuine Me-262, still with original engines. not 100% certain but I believe it was given/loaned to the war memorial at Canberra. Interesting fact is that it had several paint jobs, all applied on top of the original paint job. When stripped back for renovation/restoration the original Hakenkreuz could be seen on the tail

There was also a one off high-speed version that featured a low profile or "racing canopy!"

The V suffix or prefix stood for "verprobung", or test rather than a model number.

The initial P.1065 looked nothing like the ME262 as it had straight wings. But as the Jumo engines were heavier over than expected the wings had to be swept to restore the CG position (just like what needed to be done to the Douglas DC-1). This 18 degree wing sweep increased the top speed by 40kmh, a latter design was to be fitted with 35 degree swept wings which would have had a significant increase in air speed.

Partly true. The airframe was wind tunnel tested, it was determined that the inboard section should also be swept.
