@@zoejohnson1146 They closed my application because I had not submitted certain requirements which makes no sense since the application doesn't close until January ,but I am looking at it on the bright side. There are many other colleges that have ROTC programs and I could graduate with a degree and as a lieutenant.

Timothy Brahan I think just focusing on academics really helped. I also looked at stats of people who got in and the chances of getting in, which really encouraged me.

I think you're good those ar great credentials, one thing that really helps your chances is completing application items as quickly as possible and constantly communicating with admissions about questions and issues. If you have good credentials which you do and you show initiative then your chances increase. That's how I got accepted and will be reporting tomorrow 👍

Through research and attending Academy information sessions of social media, I learned all that would be requested on the application and began gathering the material months before the application opened for my class. It was the same process for Nominations and the setting up of appointments for the CFA and DODMERB. I wish your son the best of luck! 😁

Hi! I am not really sure about the special education class, but I just joined clubs and got involved in opportunities that I was interested in. I wouldn't just join clubs to have all the things on your resume, actually be interested in them, the more you enjoy them the more involved you will be, which have the opportunities fo leadership positions and more responsibility; and that is what they are really looking for.

I am preparing for the SAT exam, which I'll have to take next year. Is the "Chess Club" and good grades/test scores going to be enough?
Nika Giunashvili hey! I think that you have good resume building up. I believe they will keep in mind a lot of students switching over to online classes. I don’t think there is a limit or minimum of classes or clubs you have to be in. You seem set up to have a good application ahead of you. Good luck!

I tore my acl and am in rehab but before that I was captain of my high school freshmen soccer team(as a freshman) and play club soccer year round. I just got accepted into a 6 week internship for YMHA which is fairly prestigious as well as having done numerous hours of volunteering for my church such as service projects or community service. I am in my schools Honors Chmabr Orchestra and we were 1/4 highschool orchestras in the world chosen to do an international performance. I havnt taken SAT or ACT yet and I am in good shape. How am I looking and what else should I do to heighten my chances?

although you are going to a military college, enjoy being a "civilian" as long as possible. I also recommend staying on top of your academics and learning as much as possible as a cadet in ROTC.

I was offered appointment for the class of 2025. I think you have a good chance of getting in, although nomination could be a challenge if you live in a competitive congressional district. I’d recommend searching for records of previous nominees in your area (likely to be in a local newspaper) and looking at what helped them secure nomination apart from high academic and physical achievement, then use that insight to bolster your own profile. I wasn’t contracted as a cadet in ROTC, so I didn’t have to be released, but if you leave after your first year, you shouldn’t have to owe anything. I talked to my cadre before, and they knew that I was applying, so transitioning went smoothly
I believe you usually can, different circumstances allow them to open your application. I asked, and was told to get my test scores higher, I did, but I think it was too late in the process by then

Hi! I would definitely would try and learn more about West Point to see if it is something that you can see yourself doing. I see it like a regular college in the academic year with the additional weekend trainings and rules. But I definitely recommend if you want a challenge. Joining clubs next year would definitely boost the leadership side of your resume, but do not try to overextend yourself in clubs if you do not really enjoy it.
For my senators, there was an application online that I had to fill out. I had already gotten a congressman nomination, so I didn’t continue with the senator process. But I believe that there is also an interview panel as well.

I don’t think there is a minimum, don’t try to do a bunch of extracurricular just to have them, do they ones you actually enjoy, because they want to see your passion as well as your commitment

My CFA scores were: basketball throw: 57 Pull ups: 2 shuttle run: 8.8 sit-ups: 87 pushups: 40 1 mile run: 7:10 I got above a 1300 on the SAT, but there isn’t a specific score or grades that you need, but higher than 3.5 would be ideal. Highschools range on the competitiveness of their class. There is also no typical build you need, there is a height and weight requirement, you can look that up online. Just be physically fit, I am technically overweight basked on the standards, but I passed the CFA and the ACFT everytime I take it
Jacob Meyer my updated SAT was around 1320. Freshman fall semester of college I took calculus, spanish, kinesiology, and a freshman course. Spring: chemistry, biology, calculus II, and psychology.

I didn’t submit my ACT, because I took it as a freshman, and didn’t like my scores but I scored in the 1300’s for the SAT
good luck after West Point you have to do mandatory fours of military service unless you want to do it
Mandatory 5 years of services, could be longer if there is a military need.
