You said that your GPA and SAT weren’t high enough for your application to be acknowledged. But, from what I’ve seen your SAT and GPA are fairly high for the academy. Would you mind shedding more light on this? We’re you just unlucky/have you met other cadets with lower scores? My scores are lower then yours and I was just curios If it’s even worth applying at this point.

Hi, I’m a freshman in high school and I am interested in West Point. I was wondering how you got involved in so many things like being the representative and president of things because I am really trying to be more involved in school because I know that’s stuff colleges look for? Right now I’m in track, cross country, and tennis and I do volunteer work out of school but that’s it. Also, I am in one special education class that I am trying to get out of, but is that something USMA will not accept?

Hi! I am not really sure about the special education class, but I just joined clubs and got involved in opportunities that I was interested in. I wouldn't just join clubs to have all the things on your resume, actually be interested in them, the more you enjoy them the more involved you will be, which have the opportunities fo leadership positions and more responsibility; and that is what they are really looking for.

I'm currently in 10th grade, live in Philadelphia, PA, and I really want to apply to West Point. I currently have 1 Ap class, and all honors, with an overall grade of 97%. I am preparing for the SAT exam, which I'll have to take next year. Due to the COVID, I had to transfer to a cyber charter school, and they really don't offer a lot of clubs or sports to join, but I managed to join Chess Club because I am really good at it. I will also join boxing or judo outside of school to earn as many recommendations as I can. Also preparing for a physical test on my own, at home. Is there anything else I should do? Is the "Chess Club" and good grades/test scores going to be enough?

I’d recommend searching for records of previous nominees in your area (likely to be in a local newspaper) and looking at what helped them secure nomination apart from high academic and physical achievement, then use that insight to bolster your own profile. Would you mind telling me how you did on your CFA the time you got accepted? There's not much info on that.
How did you do on your SATs the second time? I really want to know what you need for west point academically.
What type of build would you need physically for USMA WP? bc I'm 5'9 and underweight, and I really need to know the requirements.
It's fine if you don't feel comfortable answering these questions! thanks!

      shuttle run: 8.8
      sit-ups: 87
      pushups: 40
      1 mile run: 7:10
I got above a 1300 on the SAT, but there isn’t a specific score or grades that you need, but higher than 3.5 would be ideal. Highschools range on the competitiveness of their class.
There is also no typical build you need, there is a height and weight requirement, you can look that up online. Just be physically fit, I am technically overweight basked on the standards, but I passed the CFA and the ACFT everytime I take it
