I have always enjoyed the novels of Robert McCammon, from Baal to Swan Song to They Thirst. He's an underrated author. I'm also nearly finished with The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay. I like it, but science fiction is my favorite genre. I always enjoy your videos.
I feel like you've got an insanely good end of the year planned with these reads, some of my faves. Also thanks for the introduction to the Vorkosigan saga, it is absolutely my new obsession 😂
Oooh good stuff! I would love to read some Robert McCammon soon. Have to figure out if I want to start with Boy's Life, Swan Song, or Mathew Corbett. Also really want to read Johnathan Strange & Mr. Norrel! Looking forward to your thoughts as always.
@@iSamwise i replied to this, and I think youtube hid my own comment so I will find another way to say I was hoping for at least 33 concepts, but oh well, 17 will have to do
That's a heftyyy list! I am super curious to hear your thoughts on the rest of Second Apocalypse and on the new ML Wang. Hope you end the year on a high note with all of these, happy reading ;))
Hey cool, I was mentioned. 😎 Hope you're enjoying Boy's Life! I'm interested to see what you think of Heroes Die, been on my radar for years. I'm reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell right now and finding it to be extremely cozy and well written. Kinda hard to recommend in some ways but I'm enjoying it. I think a Hobb fan like yourself will be right at home with its style and pacing if you're in the mood for that when you pick it up. Just gotta be ready for 850 pages of methodical slow burn that will take you a month to read. Love The Road but I don't know if you will. Hope you fit it in though, that's like a two day read at most.
@@Coleton2573 if Piranesi is an indicator I should be fine. Damn Clarke can write. Of course I mentioned you. I think you threatened me on my reading plans 2024 video, so I had to come announce that you don't have to carry anything through
Philip K. Dick is a real trip. A man who understood what experiencing alternate states of consciousness were like, because he went out of his way to experiment with them... and took damage from his exploration, as is symbolic recounted (and explicitly described) in A Scanner Darkly. I highly recommend Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and best of all for your purposes: it's fairly short.
@Matt42MSG ya, I've heard experiencing dick can really change how people see the world. I've had a lot of people recommend dick, and It kinda sounds unlike anything I have experience with, but I'm expecting to like it. Sorry, I can't help myself
My list of priority books/series to finish this year are: «The Doom of Destiny» (Book #3 in the «Sundered Nation» Trilogy, Epic/Historical Fantasy inspired by the Germanic Goths’ Civil Wars & Wars with the Huns and the Romans, with a dash of «Dune» with its warning against prophecy) by Vaughn Roycroft «The Fury of the Gods» (Book #3 in the «Bloodsworn Saga» Trilogy, Epic Fantasy inspired by Norse Myth) by John Gwynne The final two novels in the «City of Victory» Trilogy by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Military Fiction set during Emperor Trajan’s Campaigns) The final two novels in the «Cicero» Trilogy by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction about the Roman Politician Cicero) Continued series that I might get to in 2024, but that are on my High Priority TBR List for 2025: «A Nomad of the Time Streams» Trilogy by Michael Moorcock (Multiverse/Time Travel Steampunk(?)) The «Sun Eater» series by Christopher Ruocchio (Space opera) «The Nightingale & The Falcon» series by Stephen Aryan (Fantasy inspired by the Mongol Conquest of Persia) Series that I might start in 2024, but that are on my High Priority TBR List for 2025: The «Boudicca» Series by Manda Scott (Historical Fiction, about the famous Celtic Queen and her rebellion seeking revenge on the Romans) The «Gael Song» series by Shauna Lawless (Historical Fantasy set during the Viking Invasions of Ireland) The «Arthurian Tales» Trilogy by Giles Kristian (Arthurian Historical Fiction)

The TBR clean up sounds like a great idea - I def want to read Hidden Girl too and JS&MN
Might make it a yearly tradition to read a bunch of really short stuff in December

Did you read 8 Vorkosigan Novels in 11 days as instructed?
Some badass titles on the list-looking forward to seeing the ride

Heroes Die is BOSSSSZZZZ!!!
It’s absolutely fantastic. It’s quite a wild read that throws like seventeen concepts into a blender and makes it work.
