@@Alexander-xo5ho I think what Gaurav is saying is that the sound is subject to distortions from the resonances of the can itself, so the tone is not very pure.
Hey. I am thinking I would try and make one stereo one. My Zoom H2 can take stereo mic's. So have some distance with some metal bar would probably work
Pretty cool!! thanks for sharing the details of how to make one :)
Thanks for sharing- sounds good in some of those applications :)
this is not the exact underwater sound, this sound is of that metal container!
it doesnt really matter since the can is touching the water

Yes
So true. This is very lo-fi and a distortion of the true sound. Sometimes the distortion may be interesting.
What is that cilinder?
thank you.
este me servirá para detectar fuga de agua en la estructura de una piscina?
whats the thing you stuck under the lid is it a bar magnet of just a peace of steel bar and is it touching the pezio inside tha can
Just a piece of steel bar to add weight.
im going to make one and use the super sensitive 4 mile microphone as it uses a piezo to

That sounds like fun. You could just make two separate hydrophones so you can control the distance and orientation.
Just wanted to be sure if the piezo is touching the container or there is glue between the container surface and the piezo
Something thin like CA glue works well.
Super simple! Thank you for idea! Did you try to sing or speak under water?
danke
I am new to sound recording. what is the CTACT box you referred to? Is it a preamp or just to convert the 3.5mm jack to XLR?
+Raymond Isbill (IsbillPhotography) The CTACT box is a preamp for piezo discs. It has a very high input impedance and adjustable gain.
Thanks
You didn’t explicitly nor even show us what you used.
Where did you get those empty boxes?
snaper808 I found the empty tins at a local surplus store.
