@@souffle01 every Verstappens fanboy want to believe the same thing. Couldn't see that much of terrible balance from RBR on Max's car especially on tracks like Monaco or Hungary where you need good balance.
So maybe it suits RBR to have one car slightly better than the other since they expect to be 3rd anyway? Maybe they want to keep building that image of Max being unbeatable cause they might still extract something from Merc or Ferrari for his contract? Maybe it has something to do with the fact Max cant leave RBR if he finishes in certain position?
Truth is Daniel mopped the floor with Max to extend where RBR had to fuck Ricciardo's car over to give Max shot at finally beating him after 3 years. Now they cant afford to have another teammate doing same to him cause bubble would burst and everyone would realise that Max isn't such perfection as RBR is trying to make him look. Kvyat beat Daniel in his first season at RBR and just second in F1, that shows he was close enough to Ricciardo's level, Max couldn't even come close despite RBR helping him and robbing Daniel of two victories in 2016. Now Gasly who drove very well in STR moves to RBR and cant even come within 0.5 sec of Verstappen in the car that has 10 times better balance than STR? And then he goes back to STR and is narrowly quicker than Kvyat right of the bat? So it seems like Gasly is at least as fast and as good as Kvyat who proved to be close with Ricciardo who mopped the floor with Max but somehow Max is 1 second quicker than Gasly? How does that work?
Believe in what you want. Verstappen is fast and talented but he is so overhyped it blows my mind how stupid people have to be to believe he is so much quicker than everyone else where he was annihilated by Ricciardo who is great driver but nobody would dare to say he is more than 1 sec quicker than Kvyat or Gasly. But yet you believe Max is LOL

actually: In 2017 it was close after the summerbreak, but Vettel crashed in Singapur and got a DNF in Japan as well as a big grid penalty in Malaysia (components). Well, Mercedes "dominated" regarding the reliabilty maybe, but they made mistakes in Baku (headrest) and also had a minor grid penalty in Austria (gear box). You still can tell, that Vettel lost a chance for the WDC 2017 because of reliability. But I would not call it a dominance from mercedes in the second half.
In 2018: Vettel started dominating the spin-moves after the summerbreak. The Ferrari won in Spa and Monza was also a safe call for a win - but he failed. In Austin, Kimi won. It could have been way closer.

They would have been winners in Australia and Azerbaijan (I don't include Bahrain, Canada and Austria because they were the quickest there as well). I don't think they would have been fastest in Barcelona or Monaco because Mercedes still seem to have more downforce.

Ferrari has been significantly quick since the summer of 2018; however, Merc as a team outperformed them. Becoz they didn't have an A class driver.

R0NIAŁĐ I agree that engine output is not enough (Racing Point and Haas are examples). But definitely a step in the right direction, as McLaren has lost a lot of good points due to engine failure and penalties in the following race for replacing the faulty parts.

So? Hamilton has a lead of 96 points on the next competitor (not counting Bottas because obviously there won't be a championship fight between him and Hamilton). And there are 6 races left to go.

You know what Leclerc would have to do to equalize on points? He'd have to win every remaining race with the fastest lap bonus for all of them, while Hamilton would have to place 5th in all races. That is what it would take to make up 96 points. That's not happening.
Who cares if Ferrari got their shit together and Mercedes isn't winning every race, when the championship is already decided.

Anything means there is a chance that a pile of gold suddenly materializes in front of you, or that a fairy appears and gives you three wishes. I can assure you, neither of those are every gonna happen to any of us. And I was just giving you absurd examples to prove a point. Even more simple things, like you meeting a supermodel and her falling in love with you, are not gonna happen.
But your "Anything can happen" would mean it's possible they could. "Some things can happen" is more like it.
Leclerc winning the title could happen. But the chances that it will are slim to none. Like under 10%. Hamilton will get enough points to keep his lead, even if he doesn't win another race. Just because one team is faster than his car right now, won't mean he suddenly struggles to finish inside the points. At worst he'll get like 3rd or 4th place in the races. Which is more than enough.
Don't get me wrong. I hate this Mercedes dominance as well. Even more so since it's Hamilton who benefits from it. And down the line they'll make the argument that he's the best of all time, when in reality he just had the luck to pretty much always drive a car that can compete for championships. Not as much when Vettel was dominating with Red Bull. But all other years. He didn't have to drive with a back-marker team to prove his worth before he got the chance, like all the other drivers. They sat him down in a title contending car in his first year. As soon as Mercedes got real good with the changes in rules and off the hard work of Rosberg and Schumacher, there he was again. He never went to a mediocre team to make it a champion, like Schumacher did with Ferrari.
But I went off on a tangent there. The point is, I like that Mercedes isn't winning every race as much as the next guy. But couldn't this have come sooner. Like 6 races ago, when this could've really had an impact on the title fight? That's why I'm not jumping for joy. Because it's most likely too late.

Hamilton had no right to steal 2nd place from the comprehensively superior Ferrari. Although I expect the Ferrari power to send Vettel sailing past Lewis at the race start, it shouldn't cloud the fact Vettel underperformed again. There are currently 3 drivers leagues ahead of the others right now in terms of ability: Hamilton, Leclerc and Verstappen.
During Vettel's period of domination, his greatest weapon was being mighty in qualifying, as proven in how many of his race wins have come from the front row.
So for Leclerc to be that far ahead of him in an identical car over a single lap just blows my mind, and I think is the thing I find most impressive, regardless of whether Vettel has declined in any way since back then.
Love Charles' ambition. He sets an incredible lap and still is mad with himself..

One CAN be intent on excelling and indeed successful in that endeavour ongoingly, without these tendencies, and indeed joyously so. That's also a thing. It's a great thing. It's an alignment thing and actually things tend to flow better as the person isn't in their own way with their awful, unhealthy, and constricted way of being, feeling and perceiving.
But it's fine because I like when Sebastian wins, and who is an uplifting and lovely person, throughout.

Damn, Leclerc is on fire. Awesome to see him drive like this, and great to see the season isn't as boring as the first few races of the calendar made it seem.
@zak yeah definitely. I must say, I didn't really like verstappen aft first either (very unpopular opinion, since I'm Dutch) but he definitely grew on me and I feel like he has matured in terms of racing style as well. I admire how much he strives to win, and taking risks, is a part of that. To me, the younger drivers on the grid are definitely the most exciting to watch. Leclerc, Norris, Sainz, verstappen, I think they all have potential to win the championship one day. Very excited to see what the future of f1 has to bring, especially with the new rules for 2021.

Leclerc will be taking the 2020 championship if he keeps this up, great drive.
So long as Mercedes or Honda don't develop engines that are even more powerful than Ferrari's, and I guarantee they'll have been mostly focusing their research and testing into 2020's engines.

When I got the news that Leclerc would be driving with Ferrari, I was afraid they would always prioritize Vettel and not let Leclerc shine. I am so glad to have been worrying over nothing. The next 10 years are going to be great for F1 with the current lineup of youmg talent.
Leclerc performing the way he is, Ferrari didn't have a choice but to let him do his thing. Not playing as much in the way of team games as is expected of Ferrari does play a part though

His? You mean Leclerc? Vettel time is compared to Leclerc time. Pretty sure we all understand how timing works, you can't say that Vettel's tenth down because Leclerc didn't finished his lap yet. Your time doesn't matter until you cross the finish line
@@ReSePoland you can say vet was a tenth down because he was in sector 1, that's how timings work. Vet managed to match the fastest sector 1 time from leclerc.
