i know I'm 5 months late and beating a dead bush, but I am highly certain i was the one who originally found scarlet's song and got this dude exposed, i was completely oblivious to this for months until now. i found the original composer for scarlet's theme via a copyright song that overwrote the video for the stolen song, i then commented on the scarlet video that i believed earthbound didn't make the song, and which i then gave a link for the original video, that led to him getting exposed. crazy things happen, man.
I think it would be fine if they didn't pay him to compose for the game, because after all it's still music even if it's copied, but he gets paid for that, it wouldn't be good to do that anymore
