A Lesson for Kids on How God Created Everything! He is Very Creative!

🌱🌊🔥🌪️Bethy offers a lesson for kids on our infinitely creative God who made the heavens and the earth. Everything we have came from Him. He also is the reason why people have the ability to be creative and make new things out of the resources available to us. 🌱🌊🔥🌪️

Questions for Further Discussion:
1) Who made the heavens and the Earth?
2) What does that mean?
3) What is creativity?
4) Where does creativity come from?
5) What is something around you that God made?
6) What is something around you that was created by a person? Can you name some of the materials that God gave us that were used to make that thing?
7) Why did God create the world? (To declare His glory! and it's for us to use take care of and enjoy.)
8) What creative things have you made?
9) How can you share your creation with this week? Use the opportunity to talk about How creative our God is.

My actual play dough recipe:
In a large pot, mix:
-Flour, 2 cups
-Salt, 1/2 cup
-Cream of Tarter, 2 teaspoons
Once combined, add:
-Water, 2 cups
-Oil, 4 Tablespoons
-food coloring, as much as you want
Mix it all until well combined.
Heat it on the stove over medium heat, stirring continually, until it all clumps together.
Dump it out on a clean surface and kneed it. Be careful, as it will be hot.
This is super easy to make and super fun! My 2-year-old daughter loves to help me make it (it's very forgiving).

Here are the instructions for this lesson so you can reproduce it for your kids or class.
Materials:
-Your Bible bookmarked to Genesis 1:1
-A bunch of stuff that God made (plant, animal, rock, dirt, stick, water, fire)
-Play dough
-play dough ingredients
Directions:
-Read Genesis 1:1
-Talk about what God made.
-Pass around the the materials you have that God created.
-Talk about what creativity is and why people are able to create things.
-Show the play dough and make it into something.
-Show the ingredients that were used to make the play dough.
-If you have time, show the whole process the flour. How did it get to be flour so you could use it to make play dough. People had to be very creative to make that process.
-To take this lesson a little deeper, talk about why God created everything.
-Look up Psalm 19:1
-Look up Genesis 1:26:
-Talk about how God left people in charge of the earth to use, take care of, and enjoy.
-Talk about how God created man in His image and how he made us creative.
-Encourage the kids to be as creative as possible and, individually or as a group, have them create something as a reminder that God is SO creative and that he gave us the ability to be creative too.
-Ask the questions from the lesson and get your class to engage by responding to what they learned. Particularly, that they would be able to apply these truths to their lives.
