I like Kanz not gonna lie. A regular opponent likes to bring Deathwing Knights to just take objectives nearer board edges and never move, so I threw 6 Kanz at him and the base size meant he didn't even get close to it, -1 damage meant he wasn't getting through them. Optimal, I don't know, but very funny. They still chewed them up 3 rounds of combat and only lost 1 Kan for the same points.
Well, -1dmg stratagem can only be used in shooting phase. 5 DK kill 2 KK per turn. Staying alive 2 rounds is already a miracle. KK being behicules, they are targetable even though in melee range of an ally unit, albeit -1 to hit. Still they should not survive the opponent turn if you both know and apply the correct rules.
-1 damage is shooting only, as I showed in the video. You can still mess up DWK if you use a combined arms tactic of shooting and charging. [And spending CP]
What perfect timing! I just became a believer in my 6-man Kan brick, but I’m not yet sold on the Rokkits. I just don’t like the d3 shots. I know it should average me 12 shots+blast… but I just don’t like it. Bigger Shell Shootas become flat 2 dev wounds into monster/vehicles. 30 shots at 18” range. That’s a lot of potential for dev spikes - and can shoot things in close combat with the Kanz OR a vehicle that *you’ve* tagged. Think Tank Commander you’ve managed to bog down. Try rolling it out. 30 shots with Dakka and Bigger Shells is kind of nutty if you spike it. Skorchas can push the button for crit wound AP bumping to AP-3 ignore cover, which is pretty legit. Again, flat 2 into vehicles if you need to and shooting into combat if you need it. Grotzookas are so undervalued. Yes, it’s short range. But 6-1-1 ignores cover is actually a fantastic profile. It’s actually the best profile because it’s already at the break point where you aren’t tempted to fish for that datasheet ability(unlike the S5 and S9 of the other weapons which would GREATLY benefit if you could get +1S). I was only using 3 Kanz with zookas and it was reliably mauling GSC and Guard Aquilions on Overwatch. 3d3+9+blast usually nets 21-25 shots. Sus1 from the button and wounding on 2s can usually clean a squad out. I’m just not sure where I want to go with the 6-man. I think Rokkits are overrated specifically in Dreadmob where other options can get boosted.

Welcome to the great waagh ! You advance and charge as a ork during the waghh as it's the waagh army rules , The advancing + shooting comes from the strat in dread mob. played a 1.5k game using 3x3 units against, necrons, only 2 models died, 1 took out a doom scythe in 1 shooting phaze, another took out some wraiths and the last unit just flung damage about everywhere. they were also somehow the only casualties that match

I think Dreadmob is in a similar situation as the Soulforged Warpack is over at CSM; The players are having a *bit* too much fun spamming as many hulls as they can, without thinking about the ressource allocation. 18 Killa Kans is probably the wrong number, but 6 Killa Kans to eat all your CP while supported by the Shokk+Loota combo shooting and some scalpel Nobz in Trukks? That probably makes for an effective list.
Another weakness of KK is the exponential rate at which they lose damage based on casualties. Lose 2 models (-33%), that means -33% output but still 2 CP. Lose 3 (-50%), and you wonder if you are really going to spend 2 CP on damage amplifiers on a fairly low output base, if not the unit lost 75% of its output. Lose 4 and the unit is as good as dead with Ld 8, no stratagems, no OC. They implictly have this rule: "when at 2 or less, the unit loose all attacks on their weapons, have 0 OC, and they are now living secondary points for the opponent. Run away." The unit tanking power is 20 wounds. Not hard to go through for any army. Not hard at all i should say.
You said a lot but really just agreed . 1] they're meant as a 1x use unit.. I always said they'll be a heavy investment. One shot on the waagh to pull off the combined arms maneuver 2] didn't say they weren't going to die .I even mentioned a few unit /combos that could wreck the kk unit but the actual investment from the enemy , in movement, points used to kill kk, cp investment etc will exceed the 250pts value of the Kan 3] These factors and more are why only 1 unit of Kanz can be somewhat recommended. Everything has pro/cons..it's about using what we want to use. Best we Kan! Not everyone wants to play the same meta units/ combos every game. WAAAAAGGGHHH FOR DREAD MOB!!

You never know when they pop of or not. Had one game where they managed to do 20 wounds to my CSM Vindicator as well. That 5W profile makes them such a nuisance to deal with if you don't have any flat 6 dam type profile weapons.

I've done it , it's fun and works but hard to get value from both units and positioning
