It’s even crazier knowing that millions of people around the world created multiple brackets, and not a SINGLE one of them will get them right. I imagine that’s why a “high-performing” bracket makes them feel like they did a good job, because the longer the tournament goes on - the more brackets will fall apart, regardless of whether you made 2 or 200.
Once you consider how astronomical the odds are, the number of brackets you make is insignificant compared to how good it has to be to be correct beyond a certain point. I don't think there's any misconception that being correct with a single bracket isn't more impressive than being correct on 1/100. But all things considered, it's still impressive once you consider it really is all just a bunch of coin flips on what will happen.
fun fact: my friend is currently on a 22 game correct streak. He is technically tied for 26th in the world, and the only game he got wrong was Maryland vs West Virginia lol
