No it was FDUs gameplan to deny the entry pass to Edey at all costs and then rotate when the ball was swung. Beautiful execution and it forced Purdue to take tough 3pt shots
I picked Arizona VS Purdue Final 4 in my main bracket🤣🤣🤣Oh well. Who knows how long it will take for a perfect bracket, but it's always fun. Until next year guys, now let's watch the rest of the tourney!
I have created my own pool system where you earn points based on the probability your team wins (using Massey Rating's probabilities). This encourages picking upsets. For instance you only won 10 points if Purdue beat FDU, but you won 255 if FDU won. If anyone would have picked all upsets in the first round they'd be leading the bracket right now. The expected value of any bracket is pretty much the same so you don't get half your brackets that are chalk with only one or two changes. Plus every game gives a different amount of points so the positions in the bracket change often. Every one playing agrees it's the funnest one they've been in.
in my pool I also awarded seed differential to the victor, so FDU would have garnered 15 points on top of 4 points for advancing. 8 points for 2nd round win, 16 points for Sweet Sixteen, 32 points for ELITE EIGHT, 64 points Final Four, 100 for Title Game, 250 National Champion ;-) Winner take$ all, last place gag gift.
nope, i had one with everything perfect (even fdu) except for iona. mine was one of the 4 that busted when it went from 30 to 26 with iona losing to uconn.
See, mine busted instantly by making the mistake of choosing my local college to go to the finals just to lose to Bama in round 1 xD i knew it would happen but i had to do it
My goal is to just get the final 4 right since having a perfect bracket is so unlikely it’s practically impossible. This year definitely demonstrated that since 0 brackets out of 20 million even had the first round correct! Anyways I predicted Alabama, Duke, Texas, and UCLA, let’s see how I do!
That's probably a better way to do it. I have my entire elite eight still in it (bama, creighton, tennessee, msu, houston, texas, uconn, ucla) and I picked Creighton, Tennessee, Houston, and UConn but I don't have much faith in Creighton getting past Alabama but I also didn't have a lot of faith when I picked Furman over Virginia so we'll see
I had one bracket that was perfect until Pittsburgh beat Iowa State. Iowa State always sells out every year, no? I cannot believe I let that slide. I actually predicted Purdue to lose in that bracket and also predicted the hurricanes of Miami to lose against Drake… but if you live by the 3, you lose by the 3 and look a 15-1 run and lost like a mug.
How could anyone pick Purdue to win it all let alone advance past the sweet 16. I had them losing in the second round. People are listening to much to the "experts" who almost always get it wrong. If there ever is a year for a 4-9 seed to win it all. It is this year.
I'm not saying I wouldn't have had them advancing at least past the first round, but Purdue is elevator farts. Its a bad enough idea to bet on the Big 10 in general, but Purdue is as middle of the road as it gets. They're what Clemson is to the ACC, or Seton Hall is to the Big East, or Oklahoma is to the Big 12. The experts buy into these team's bullcrap every year, and every year these teams fail to deliver.
@@markbrowning4334 All those teams can do well in conference but once they go out of conference. Especially, in tournament play. They fall apart. The only exception is Seton Hall and Oklahoma have made it to the final four. And probably should have won it all.
@@joshbeard9809 Seton Hall has only one final four appearance that I can recall. That was in 1989. Oklahoma was in 1988. Prior to that, you have to go back to the 50's or so. These are not exactly storied programs despite what the experts and media woukd have us believe.
@@markbrowning4334 Never said they were storied programs. Seton Hall literally lost to Michigan in the title game with no time on the clock. There problem is they cannot keep any good coaches they manage to get. Oklahoma has actually been in the final four at least twice in the last 20 years. Including one recently in 2016. The media nor experts make them out to be storied programs. The experts do get it wrong but it isn't just with these teams. They wrong almost all the time. They're usually biased towards the blue bloods as well as flash in the pan teams.
cus its an 8-9 game, 2 very close teams (according to the seeding at least) without a clear winner ahead of time. you kind of had a 50/50 chance of getting this right or wrong
Moving forward to upcoming season(s), can we have a contengency where Virginia and Purdue are not allowed to be ranked any higher than 15 in any polls regardless of record? Can we also require that they are only allowed a spot in the field of 64 pending a conference tournament championship? They've wasted any further at large bid priviledges. I know that didn't apply to either this year. I'm speaking of seasons to come. These are two programs that continuesly underachieve despite being repeatedly awarded high rankings and high seeds. Enough already with these two programs.
It’s the 3rd 16 v 1 upset if FIBA games are counted. It happened in the UK in 2006. St Andrews > Leeds metropolitan university. Greatest upset in British college basketball history.
@Paul McAnally Yeah, he threw me off on that one. I was going to say if you included Harvard over Stanford in 1998, then this would be the third overall although of course Harvard’s was in women’s
We all busted guys. None of us could hold it back. It’s all good, November’s our month 💪
AMBATUKAAAAAM

They should just not include standings on the brackets
My team is still playing. So I don't even care lol
wdym by that...
The Purdue game was hilarious... FDU didn't even bother to guard the perimeter because Purdue was so bad at shooting.

My best bracket lasted 5 games 😂
Mine lasted 6 which was more than my ZERO from the previous year 😂
Try 3 games
mine lasted 1
Maybe I’m missing something here, but HOW is Arkansas beating #1 Kansas NOT in this reel?!!
By then there were no brackets
^What he said
I got Creighton vs Tennessee in the final 4 along with Houston and Gonzaga
Wrong. My paper bracket is still perfect and I filled it with pen so you can’t debate it.
Seriously absolutely no one made it past the first round
We need a 2024 version
I would've still be in if not for that Arizona loss. But Princeton won on round 2 too so I'd be out either way.
March madness made me March sadness
sports betting is the reason for this
I had kansas and perdue going to the final.

How many people have FDU winning it all?
Zero
I bet 1
