I have a meridian on its way and you have helped ease my mind about the hubster putting this bad boy together. Thank you. :)
Felt like listening to a music.. It was very interesting, concise & clear.. Thank you!!
People wonder why these funky looking hand grips. There's a very good reason. These bikes are sold to a lot of challenged and elderly folks. The hand grips are a safety feature should you hit a curb, pot hole , whatever. The handle bar will glance off body parts rather than blunt force injury.
You sir should of had at Least 10k likes!! You so clear in explaining things that everyone in all walks of life can understand!!Thanks!
I just received a new trike today and I will reshoot Thanks. BTW...the motor installation vid. It'll take a few weeks to get to as I have a big project going now.
Thank you for this video. I just bought the same exact bike and I am having trouble getting the rear frame on. I didn't know if I should take off the bolts closest to the gear on the main frame or not and it looks like I do not. But it did not come with any more washers or nuts so I am not sure how it will go on?
I am the old guy in Houston you talked to for a moment. Your a damn fine wrench. About all I can say is I am a first class wrench also. I have that trike with a 750w electric front wheel. Mobility batteries in the rear basket. Ridden it daily for 6 years. Several 2 strokes I have built for customers And had a 4 stroke on the back of both. After seeing all your videos I understand why you have not had time to call me back. Ride safe everyone. Saddletramp1200 M&S Motorized bicycles Houston, Tx.
I like electric on these. just expensive is only drawback.
I'm discontinuing the front friction drive kit. The supplier is out too often. I'm thinking of doing a push trailer setup w/ a 97cc engine
@@HughesMotorized I have seen a few people do a pusher. They've not been very successful. It usually winds up with a bent rear wheel.
We Thought You were going to show how to install motor?
Thank God you showed me how to put the tires on. I'm actually having to take my tires off to take to the bike shop. Wish me luck.
You can do it!
Thankyou very I appreciate you for posting this video I have one exactly like yours I got it for tomorrow I'm going to paint job on and need to put it together and this video helps a lot God Blessed You and thanks again
Glad I could help
Do you know if you can put a recumbent seat on one of these?
I'm trying to learn how to put an engine on a three well I just bought one you got videos of that one
im looking for the sprocket Assembly between the front crank and rear axle on it's own, i have a sun Miami trike and i would like to modify it for a custom electric motor set up. any ideas on where i can find one? or at least the name of this part that i can look up?
dude i have a question i need a replacement sproket and for the life of me i cant tell what the bore size of the sproket it is there any way you can tell me ?
What kind of throttle cable and twist grip are you using on your trike? TIA
I'm getting a moon cool but thinking that they will be very similar though the moon cool is 7 speed. Was wondering given they are very similar how hard or easy it is to ride the trike uphill (got mine for commuting to and from work which has a few hills on the route)?
Thanks! I put the back piece on upside down-silly me! So I had to take everything apart
and start again. Not real clear on the instruction manual for novices but will work when
I flip it over. Tomorrow will be day 2 of assembly. Argggggggg!!!!
Always a learning experience
Thanks for the video!
Where's the motor ?
I noticed that your bike has the pedals in FRONT of the seat post, is this a special trike?? The other trikes I see the pedals are straight at the bottom of the seat post, making it really hard for a taller person to pedal.
Late, but what I learned from trikes. When you put the left wheel on (the non drive wheel), just snug up the locknut. Don't crank it down like the right side or the front wheels. The way trike axles are set up is the left side has that spacer that presses against the bearing on that side. but when you tighten the wheel nut the axle will pull on the right hand side because your right wheel bolts to the axle but doesn't put any pressure on the right bearings. If you tighten the left too much it'll pull the right bearings out of alignment and chew them up
Good advice. Thanks
With the wheels removed, the drive side has a collared nut + thin nut against the bearing, non drive side has the two thin nuts.
If you lock the two nuts in place via thin cone wrench + wrench, how can tightening the non drive wheel too much pull the axle's 4 bearings out?
---
Not tryin to be a smart ass, maybe im missing something here and would like to know
p.s. I do agree that over tightening the nuts that hold the wheel on is bad (and not needed as its a nylock nut) it also would potentially side load the two sealed bearings in the wheel's hub as well)
instead of loosening brake cable squeeze it closed with your hand then pull on the Chinese steel bent tubing away from where the wire it tightened down by the allan bolt it slides right out and pops right back on
Kody Gallant that part is called the "noodle".
This is a very good video I liked the interaction that it gives us and also the color of the bicycle is really cool") thanks for posting
Hey, Thank you very much! I so needed this video. YOU ARE THE BEST!
Any thoughts on the rear band brake? How does one adjust it so it will actually fully stop the bike? Or... is that never going to happen? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I saw "the assemble" where's the "motorize"?
What's the best way to shine my bike i have just like this one .Without damaging the paint.
God bless you brother , whats the best way to shine my bike thats a 3 wheeler schwinn just like this one
La quiero la quiero muy linda
Is the frames made of steel or aluminum alloy?
Seems lots of people are into motorizing these Schwinn trikes but when you start looking into it more, you see constant complaints about rear spokes breaking, axles warping or breaking, and premature rear axle wear. It's a light duty single-speed trike! It's not designed to be able to go fast. You can motorized it easily enough but...DON'T.
Especially if you put a 212cc motor on one or don't maintain one. Bottom line. BE CAREFUL
Are they heavy to carry?
I like this bike
Really nice assembly video. Makes it look relatively doable. Of course, once I get at it....cover your ears, neighbors!
Good call!
You forget to line up rear end to get the sprockets in line also rear wheels has inside locking nuts which you forget to lock them.
That is what I was wondering on the inside nut as my bike keeps getting loose on inside and does a clicking knocking sound why .?
Do both rear wheels spin at the same time when you pedal or just one wheel?
Only one wheel is driven. Bike is about 60-70lbs I'd guess. Aluminum frame
WHERE DOES THE MOTORIZE PART COME INTO PLAY?
Part 2 ... look above in description
So the rear brake only brakes the drive wheel, and the opposite side free-wheels? I guess they had grandma peddle speeds in mind, as opposed to madmen ( like me) that want to add an engine. I wonder how feasible it would be to add caliper breaks on both rear wheels?
+TheMicroTrak Yup that's how they work. They work fine as is IMO
I havnt been able to ridea bike for 25 years because I have MS. I have been looking for a used one because theyre kinda expensive when youre living on Disability. Ive been watching these videos and it seems that ppl are saying Schwinn arent the best. Does anyone have experience with more than one kind? Cuz once I buy one, thats it. I done want a junky one that will give me trouble. Please help. Any advice is very appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Danke
My son has one already completed. It's the only exercise he can do besides swimming. Well now he needs to fix the brakes. He got the parts from Schwinn but it didn't come with instructions. How do you take the old ones off & put in the new? Thanks!
+syllylou77 Plenty of videos on UA-cam showing how to install brakes on a bicycle
But there is a big difference between taking brakes off & on, on a 3 wheel & on a regular bike. We finally found someone who could show him how to do it. There weren't any about putting them on a 3 wheel brake videos.
Can you put a 80cc on it .and video it please 🙏 I follow you for a wile ...I have 2 trycle shwinn and motor ready for 1 years already please help
how much is the 3 wheel bike?please let me know i like your work.
You can buy the motor kit here: motorized3wheelertrikekits.com and you can buy the trike from Amazon amzn.to/2ScFGMX
Like in brazil
Schwinn I have a question for you I have a question for tire
Is the Schwinn trike any better than say a Huffy, Kent or other model for adding a motor to it? Is their frame any stronger or parts less prone to wearing out on it than the other makes? Thanks.
They are mostly the same as I see it. However I'm not a trike expert
@@HughesMotorized Thanks for the reply. Best to you. Nice video.
does the back end of that trike work on any bike?
THE DIY DAD . They have trike conversion kits that will work on any bike
Awesome dude
Thanks 😁
@@HughesMotorized yw I have some crazy builds man lol we race these in miami all shapes n sizes
Awesome I wanna get a bike
Can you put a drift trike axle on a 3 wheel bike
not suggested. Spokes are too thin
Yes
want to buy one of your electri 3 wheel trikes plz get back with me
2009 Me - "5:36 lets get this nut off lmmfao"
Lmfaoo
So is it two wheel drive in the back.
Part 2 .. look in description
You left out the part where you make sure the rear axle is in alignment with the frame. If it isn't, the rear wheels will wear out prematurely.
Did the manual give any tips on how to best do this, besides making sure to pull the rear axle assembly evenly when tensioning the drive chain?
can I go shopping on this bike cuz I don't know how to drive

what happened to the "and motorize" part of your video?

hey can anone help me instaal a 79cc motor on my shimano tricycle
Can u get thrm put 2 gather
Can u get them
Hey - wheres the motor add-on ?
sorry but if someone can tell me if this is a good tricycle. I am 280 lbs. I am not sure if the 26 inch will do the job. I appreciate if someone can reply. Thank you
It's good. The 26- wheel variation holds 300-350 lbs. I'd recommend an electric one with pedal assist so you can get some movement and enjoy the ride more. ebay.us/RB2kmB
@@HughesMotorized Thank you soo much for replying))
i kept watching my red line at the bottom and it gets close to the end ,,,im thinking hes got about 1/2" of red line to install motor ,, no motor ,,thats what i watched it for ,,,i know how to build a bike .. :(

My bike shop has warned against the Meridian because if the spokes start breaking, replacement wheels aren't sold by Schwinn or any seller they trust. Have you had any trouble with the wheels breaking down or finding replacement parts? (Are they just trying to sell me on something more expensive?)
I'm thinking one can find replacement wheels from Schwinn. However, the wheels are somewhat light duty
Can i have this one? I like this for my parents..hope its not pricey.
Sold.. See my website : motorized3wheelertrikekits.com links for everything
What happened to the motorized part?
Link is in the description.Motor kits are on backorder from China due to Coronavirus. However, here you go: ua-cam.com/video/2SqS6kXCNAI/v-deo.html
Do you live in Monett that's where I live
Spring Texas
got this at walmart for Mom and Dad , but with cheap electric motor .
+NWforager Great. Cheap electric kits dont las very long. Good luck hope they enjoy. I also hope electrics improve in price and quality too
+HoustonMotorized they've had it for 10 years now . no noise and air pollution . no maintenance . just front hub and cheap lead battery.
NWforager
awesome
Ok I bought one just like it and with less than 5 miles on it , the rear bearings were grinding, so I bought all 6 new from Miller bearing 4 for axle and 2 for coaster wheel and it still does it and sounds horrible. Next time I will buy a Miami sun.
The only reason I clicked on this video is to see how to motorize it but what happened to the motorizing part??
Try Part 2
I have one my bike
Yes 🤣
My left pedal won't go on. Not threaded correctly.
Left pedal and crank arms have reverse threads. Counterclockwise to install. Right pedal has normal threads
Thank you but I looked at the pedals and they both have an R engraved on them. I’m going to call Pacific Cycle tomorrow. Thank you for this video. Really appreciate your help with this tricycle.
Thank you. The pedals are both Right pedals.
@@Katwoman4318 Yup.. they messed up. They're pretty good at fixing issues like this. Contact their customer support
😄😄😄😀😀😀🙋🐈
The motor looks real tiny. I couldn't even see it.

Put camera on side
120 mpg? on a human/electric bike? So, you drink that much gasoline? And, where is the "electrify" part?
you was explaining too fast..
Babie Harris, if you haven't figured out how to Rewind and Pause the video, this job is probably beyond your ability anyway.
What happened to the motor .. like the second half of the title of the video
