New Japan Cup 2023 has been wild

- The new japan cup finals are less than 24 hours away. It’s been a crazy tournament so far. If you haven’t been watching I got you covered, here’s what’s happened so far.
First off we got a new leader of the Bullet Club when David Finlay walked out with Gedo on night one dressed in black and calling himself the Rebel. Not everyone is convinced Finlay is fit for the job, including El Phantasmo. But hey, he’s made it to the finals.
He won’t however be facing the tournament favourite Will Ospreay. Who suffered a shoulder injury in his match against United Empire stable-mate Mark Davis that ended his tournament early. He actually nominated Davis to replace him in the new japan cup, and Davis has been the Cinderella story of the entire tournament.
Davis though did end up losing to SANADA in the semi-finals. SANADA who shocked everyone when he out of nowhere left the most popular faction in New Japan Pro Wrestling, that is LIJ, to join Taichi and this new “just five guys” group. SANADA has been with los ingobernables de japon since 2016 when he debuted for the company so this is actually kinda wild.
Defending new japan cup tournament champion zack sabre jun ior had kind of a nothing tournament but I’ll tell you who had a banger - shota umino. Go back and watch his matches if nothing else, including his tag match with ren narita against Okada and Tanahashi. Sick match.

Finlay has potential but he’s trying to be jay white so hard that’s making it hard to like him. His move set is really nice tho bullet club should hold trials for a new leader. I choose elp
