You can't buy or sell without a cellphone, you will be deprived of the information to operate and compete in a free market. And all makers of the hardware and software are invasive. Soon you won't be able to ride the bus, or any car, without business and government knowledge. You won't be able to turn on a light or use your refrigerator without the information leaking. I'm sure even taking a shower can be indirectly tracked by water meter usage and the information sold to business and government. There's no reason why consumers don't have the right to use all of these essential items and put political pressure on the same companies to stop gathering the information. A person who doesn't have water service, electric, cellphone service, trash service, sewer service is generally dead. Inside government run lands they don't take kindly to homeless people who put up tents anywhere and cut the cord (none of the aforementioned tracking services including trash)and go cash based. The homeless get constantly hunted down in my adult experience. That is, if the elements, other homeless people, darwinism predators, lack of hygiene, lack of health care, and lack of food, doesn't first kill them. Ever heard of feedback loops and momentum? You don't have a smartphone and you are destined for a downward feedback loop. Trump paid someone to write a whole book about it, without which, he would never have made it to the Whitehouse or very far for that matter. Without this number, a person can neither buy or cell. The number is to be used in the Right hand or used on the head. And those who choose not to get a number will not have a functional brain (head) because of the lack of information.
I actually do that sometimes. It's quite refreshing and takes a weight off your shoulders. I went without a smartphone for over a year and lost those phone checking and usage habits. It's just like having an old dumb phone, now. Much less stressful since I unlearned those horrible behaviours. FWIW, Naomi - I love your accent and your mind is amazing! Please, don't ever stop being your amazing self!
@@charliesmith_. I have driven too many old cars and broken down too many times to leave my phone in the house. Need it for emergencies! But the faraday bag keeps my location private!
Another great video! I like the question at the end - and I think that's the bit that I struggle with. There are just soooo many things to do, that I don't know where to start. A lot of your content feels aimed to go max privacy. I'd love to see some content along the lines of like a hierarchy, starting with the easy, most bang for your buck changes for average users, scaling all the way to full on hermit mode. We kind of decide at what point it suits us to jump off and settle for the level that fits best.
Yes. It’s hard since my cell is my only phone. There’s no other way family, or customers can get ahold of me. So if I turn these things off, my kids can’t reach me in emergencies. I do NOT allow apps to track, but that seems like the best I can do
hi, I really appreciate your channel and information. Great and helpful content. And yes, it sometimes seems like a little much. 😊There is so much to learn and keep on top off - and as a 65 year old it can sometimes feel a little bit overwhelming to stay current and safe and protected, etc... I do what I can.
Yes. I'm 65 and this seems overwhelming at times. Just laid off a job that used Paylocity for everything. No check in your hand anymore. Request PTO from your phone.
You're absolutely right, our information in anyway you look at it simply gets stolen from us. Unacceptable imo. You mentioned graphene and the Google phone in a previous vid and recommended to get the latest model because of security updates. Well, there I was on the hunt for this phone and (I could be mistaken) the latest model is the 8 I believe.. Wow that's a lot of money so on I went but the 7a is still very expensive over here. In fact the 6 is still at about 500 euros. I know, my privacy is worth a lot but no phone is worth that kind of money. But that's just me. Insane when you think about it, paying for something that should be yours anyway..our information and privacy I mean. Awesome vid, keep going! Greetings from Netherland
Hi. Just one aspect, amongst corp. Greed, is that the bus has to be made with gold. Pure gold, as no other metal is as malleable and/or as conductive in such miniscule amounts.
Thanks Naomi. You should read audio books, because I could listen to you talk about liberty and privacy all day until I fell asleep. 🍻 Thank you for what you do, it’s important!
Thanks for another valuable video on privacy and your mobile phone. I think privacy as part of freedom is very undervalued these days. Convenience and comfort are overvalued.
Aside from privacy, keeping all those extra things off (cell tower connection, blue tooth and wifi) also reduces the radiation coming out of the phone. I only keep wifi on most of the day with airplane mode. When going out, I take off airplane mode so people can reach me. But at home it's always airplane mode with wifi on.
Great video. Convenience is getting harder and harder to avoid these days. The tough part is that this data collection has become so common most of us don't bat an eye when told about it. I'm one of those who likes to understand and limit the data collected but not to the point of it being such a massive investment... Anyway I appreciate the videos! Happy holidays!
It ain't convenient if the world goes more draconian and can come after you exactly where you are at will and knows everything about you. That is 1984 nightmare. It would be better if we can find, create, help fund tech to have all the convenience without the massive tracking and data collection. I am not willing to call it impossible yet.
It is a lot of bother but I think we warm to these ideas as the benefits become attractive enough, just as you described with your own experience. 'm so grateful for all your efforts on our behalf!
I've always left my location off except when I need it, and Wi-Fi gets turned off as soon as I leave home. Glad to know I'm not missing something glaringly obvious. Please touch on Wi-Fi & Bluetooth scanning next time! They really took me by surprise.
I absolutely want to protect my phone. I am really unhappy with my new phone because it says that I can turn off certain permissions on app settings, but when I tried it warned me my phone wouldn't work. The next time I went to check my permissions all the settings are ghosted and of course, they're all turned back on. So my Samsung 23 Ultra uses my location, my camera, and my microphone for whatever it wants, because I can't turn it off.
Many thanks for your good advice, Naomi. At 72, I've just started using my first smartphone, and it can be quite daunting. However, I enjoy learning new things. Having just found your channel, I know I'll be delving in deeper to see what else you have to offer. Stay well.😊
Great subject! It is extreme to have the phone "always on" but really inconvenient to have to turn on turn off all day long. And while sleeping if you have loved ones and an emergency occurs then you won't get that call.....
You are absolutely correct. DEPEND is the perfect word. I told someone I didn't have a cell phone. They thought I was crazy. I lived over half my life without a cell phone. My business did great without the internet. I call them the Devil's tool. Just look around and see the people together. They don't talk they just stare at that screen. Cell phone Never saved me anytime for anything.
Microwave units were once an infrequently available unit. But corps wanted at least one in every home. Now? They are essential in this hectic fast paced life. So too, now, with cell phones. Use a Farod bag or wrap it in aluminum foil.
Short of having access to a Faraday bag, is it true that wrapping the cellphone in aluminum foil works just as well? Or is there any other material just as effective?
I'm a phone repair technician, I've never had ANY phone sync its time without a sim card, so that sounded a little odd for me. I'm not sure it's true, at least not here in the EU. Also, turning wifi off is definitely not nearly enough. On android, you need to go into wifi settings and also turn off "wifi scanning always on".
Great presentation, even greater content. Keep 'em coming. How about a revision of email services and messaging apps in terms of privacy.Tq so much. Subscribed.
The only way to prevent any cell phone that is equipped with GPS to stop tracking your location is to absolutely destroy the cell phone or take out battery. Even putting your phone in airplane mode will still send GPS signal and data to the towers!
Very informative. I don't like how almost all the data companies can get their hands on tends to be sold to 3rd parties without a second thought in the name of profit. We all just need to take privacy into our own hands in this modern society anyways it seems, because most companies sure won't respect our privacy. I also had no idea that faraday bags were a thing until I watched this video, but I'll definitely buy one now to make sure nefarious companies don't sell my identifiable info to 3rd parties, though I do worry about people not being able to reach me if I have my phone in it
Naomi, can you do a run down comparison video on map/navigation apps? On GrapheneOS they say that we can use Google maps, installing it using Aurora or under the Sandbox (weirdly seems that the Sandbox it is the most recommended). Anyways, what other options we have that don't sacrifice features? Well, and we shouldn't connect it to our cars, I'm aware of that, cheers! Thanks for the video
Love your videos! I learnt few years ago about the "unlawful tracking, selling data" so I have been practicing these techniques, I also keep my phone in a room I can hear it ring, however, they are listening also, be more muffled in a less active room. Is does become second nature and not an issue because, privacy and safety more important, like you said Naomi, like locking home before we leave. What is concerning is, when I need the service, say WiFi, they are thousands of tracking ready to pounce!! So cat is out of the bag, then!! Sad
Naomi, thank you for your content. One privacy thing I could do with my other (older) phone is to take out battery while moving the phone. Not many smartphones have that option nowadays - I know. I remember some phones have actual switches to turn off certain features but I can't remember if true power switch is one of them.
We all need a farday bag to throw our phones into when not in use. Stop using them so much. Wean yourself off of them now and be prepared to just keep it in your bag most of the time. I'm trying it out. Oh, started watching these videos when I couldn't get car insurance without putting a tracker in my car. Would save me money but at what price!? Thankx for all this info.

You know we used to leave our doors unlocked and even wide open all night when I was a kid. It's depressing to think how much things have gone downhill as the decades have gone by. Perhaps the rise of twenty four hour robot companions will restore some privacy and security to our lives.
Thank you for the amazing content Naomi! You’re right about this becoming second nature as I never turn on location or wifi unless if it is urgent😊But I do have to work on having it on airplane mode😅
I don't take my phone when I go out. If I need a phone when I'm out, it would be an emergency and everyone else has a cell phone. It's easy for me to do this because I really don't need a phone. I retired early. I really enjoy being able to go out and not be bothered by phone calls. What kills me, is if I go to a concert or sporting event, the ticket has to be on a phone. Since when is a cell phone required to live? I didn't know that was a law.
Thanks for the info and the work put into it. It's not inconvenient so much as to mystifying as to what is where and how many layers one needs to dig to get to the issue. It looks as though it's pretty much designed to be as difficult as possible to block things off.
So what happens if: 1. You turn the phone off and only turn it in to make a call? 2. Keep it in a faraday cage, again taking it out only if and when a call is initiated. Back in when done? It is, after all, a phone. It doesn’t need to be anything else. It should be available at my command, and my command only.
@@NaomiBrockwellTV That is undoubtedly the norm, but a side benefit is a sharp reduction of spam calls. Although I have, what has proven to be, a super method for shortening said calls. Thanks for your efforts, and I enjoy watching your videos.
I appreciate this. I have been trying to cut off privacy tracking for a while now. It is too invasive. I don’t have a problem turning things off. You did answer my question about faraday bags so thank you. I have been trying to use AAA trip Tim’s for travel opposed to google maps. If you liked the old trip ticks they no longer exist. To get them you have to call and argue with a person after navigating their phone tree ( another complaint of mine) . Next the person gives you detailed instructions on using their map program. Then more arguing ; I don’t have a smart phone so you need to send a paper copy. When I finally received it it was simply cut out sections from their mapping software so not much use when you are driving and alone in the car . Some tech is simply intrusive and and not as good as non tech. Some of the places I travel too the phone gps is simply useless or nonexistent. One pass I travel has nearby and easily seen cell towers but I still lose connection. I still like my maps but reading them seems to be a lost skill.
Thank you. I went into the Apple OS on my phone and went to the location settings. Found that I had none of my apps on always but I did have Google set as when in use. I changed that to never. Because of my job, I have Gmail on my phone, but no other of their apps. Thanks.

Newsom pooped in shelly's mouth
Wow...I have learned a lot in a manner of minute's...Much appreciated
Great practical advice👍
Seems the best alternative is not carrying your phone anywhere...🤔
I actually do that sometimes. It's quite refreshing and takes a weight off your shoulders.
I went without a smartphone for over a year and lost those phone checking and usage habits. It's just like having an old dumb phone, now. Much less stressful since I unlearned those horrible behaviours.
FWIW, Naomi - I love your accent and your mind is amazing! Please, don't ever stop being your amazing self!
Or keep it in a faraday bag until you need it in an emergency
Faraday bag is clever!!
I just _never_ take my mobile phone outside the house. Nobody can EVER annoy me through it. Am just, well... 'freeeeee' 😂
@@charliesmith_. I have driven too many old cars and broken down too many times to leave my phone in the house. Need it for emergencies! But the faraday bag keeps my location private!
The matrix are trying to stop this by doing away with cash
You're doing great, keep plugging away!
Gorgeous and smart 😊 great information 😊
Thanks Naomi. You should read audio books, because I could listen to you talk about liberty and privacy all day until I fell asleep. 🍻 Thank you for what you do, it’s important!
i agree...and i would love to fall asleep next to Naomi even if she was reading me a book...!!
Thanks Naomi for your digital privacy and taking back ownership advice and tips. I’ve started to implement some. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, you're really great! I wish there were step by steps to do all this stuff.
Great Content.!
Awesome vedio, has all the information thank you so mutch.
You had me at 11:14 with “Catgirl Cafe”.
Keep up with the easter eggs :)
Thank you for your simple to understand presentation 👌👌👌
It is a lot of bother but I think we warm to these ideas as the benefits become attractive enough, just as you described with your own experience. 'm so grateful for all your efforts on our behalf!
Brilliant! Blessings
I've always left my location off except when I need it, and Wi-Fi gets turned off as soon as I leave home. Glad to know I'm not missing something glaringly obvious.
Please touch on Wi-Fi & Bluetooth scanning next time! They really took me by surprise.
ALREADY FOLLOWING ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS.. GREAT JOB!!
I dreamt to become an Invisible Man. But this channel helps me to become a better private citizen. Thanks for your tips!
Great video! I have learned loads. I 'll probably watch it several more times because the lady in it is so pretty.💕
Always teaching us extremely important things. Keep doing your amazing job, Naomi! Approfitto e ti faccio gli auguri di buone feste!
Good info, once again. Learning more from you and a friend about security.
Naomi is beyond great!
Thank you, I learned a few things about location.
Very good advice. Thank you. I appreciate your work.
brilliant and spot-on! good job.
Sounds like a paid bot reply.
@@hctim96 no, just a regular shill! 😆
This information is important. Thank you.
Easy, leave it at home, problem solved. They have made people dependent on mobile phones.
I want mine with me in case of emergency, but then again, I can use my car tracking services to get help. Screwed either way!
@@dennisp4395Just aluminum foil does the trick?
Short of having access to a Faraday bag, is it true that wrapping the cellphone in aluminum foil works just as well? Or is there any other material just as effective?
Thank you. Very comprehensive video.👍🏽
Naomi you are a very knowledgeable and I like to congratulate you for your contribution to safety and security of our digital world!!!!!!
Your videos are excellent and I agree 100 % with your privacy talks. I usually search for new videos on your channel. Keep up with the good work.
One feature of GrapheneOS that I particularly like is the ability to automatically turn off wifi and bluetooth when they aren't in use.
great knowledgeable anchor
I'm a phone repair technician, I've never had ANY phone sync its time without a sim card, so that sounded a little odd for me. I'm not sure it's true, at least not here in the EU.
Also, turning wifi off is definitely not nearly enough. On android, you need to go into wifi settings and also turn off "wifi scanning always on".
Ty
*DAMMIT* Another great channel I've had to subscribe to. 😆
Great presentation, even greater content. Keep 'em coming. How about a revision of email services and messaging apps in terms of privacy.Tq so much. Subscribed.
Thanks Sis for helping me from being monitored.
The only way to prevent any cell phone that is equipped with GPS to stop tracking your location is to absolutely destroy the cell phone or take out battery. Even putting your phone in airplane mode will still send GPS signal and data to the towers!
Turn off leave on a room west a burka and don't talk to anyone anywhere.
excellent explanation!
Very informative. I don't like how almost all the data companies can get their hands on tends to be sold to 3rd parties without a second thought in the name of profit. We all just need to take privacy into our own hands in this modern society anyways it seems, because most companies sure won't respect our privacy. I also had no idea that faraday bags were a thing until I watched this video, but I'll definitely buy one now to make sure nefarious companies don't sell my identifiable info to 3rd parties, though I do worry about people not being able to reach me if I have my phone in it
If our political leaders were not so corrupt they would pass laws making it illegal to track us but unfortunately that's not the case
Excellent video!!❤ Thank you
Naomi, can you do a run down comparison video on map/navigation apps? On GrapheneOS they say that we can use Google maps, installing it using Aurora or under the Sandbox (weirdly seems that the Sandbox it is the most recommended). Anyways, what other options we have that don't sacrifice features? Well, and we shouldn't connect it to our cars, I'm aware of that, cheers! Thanks for the video

Oh! Should have done my own homework, 😅 thanks
@@Berecutecu hope it helps!
Sad
Also turn off wifi scanning and Bluetooth scanning and location on your Google account itself
Even better don’t have a Google account.
Google doesn’t like me , for hiding my location . They told me a while ago .
Naomi, thank you for your content. One privacy thing I could do with my other (older) phone is to take out battery while moving the phone. Not many smartphones have that option nowadays - I know. I remember some phones have actual switches to turn off certain features but I can't remember if true power switch is one of them.
But even if the battery is not removable, there are still WiFi blocking carrying cases.
Different subject but I keep credit cards etc in a metal business card holder. This successfully blocks RFID signals.
Literally the only way not to be tracked is leave it at home.
I often do the same
Thanks for the info you put out
Please keep up the good work ,wish people like you would be in position of authority
People like me don't want to be in a position of authority 💛
All of this tracking. Instead of us paying this to use the device, they should be paying us to use the device.
Wow! I thought I had it all figured out. 😮 This is crazy! Thank you
We all need a farday bag to throw our phones into when not in use. Stop using them so much. Wean yourself off of them now and be prepared to just keep it in your bag most of the time. I'm trying it out. Oh, started watching these videos when I couldn't get car insurance without putting a tracker in my car. Would save me money but at what price!? Thankx for all this info.
Great video and very informative. Subscribed, looking forward to watching some more of your content.
Welcome aboard!
Faraday bag for the win.
They can still track it.
@@AndrewDaley-lr9qg how?
Excellent video. I wonder how come sometimes the battery just starts losing energy just once in a while.

You know we used to leave our doors unlocked and even wide open all night when I was a kid. It's depressing to think how much things have gone downhill as the decades have gone by. Perhaps the rise of twenty four hour robot companions will restore some privacy and security to our lives.
Thanks for the tip.@@s1dubbzz751
Thank you for the amazing content Naomi! You’re right about this becoming second nature as I never turn on location or wifi unless if it is urgent😊But I do have to work on having it on airplane mode😅
I cant believe people leave wifi on when leaving home!
Also it would be cool if removable batteries came back.
The European union has recently stipulated that all phones will need to have a removable battery. So you can relax now.😂
Excellent closing, they're good habits (and wise ones as well). Amazing channel. ❤
This is a foreign language to me as a boomer but I’m trying to learn as much as I can because I despise being tracked. Thank you.
Wow Davvero Interessanti i vostri video. Grazie from Italy. Leonardo.
Control.
It should be available at my command, and my command only.
turning it off is great! I keep mine on because I need it constantly, for notes, camera etc
@@NaomiBrockwellTV That is undoubtedly the norm, but a side benefit is a sharp reduction of spam calls. Although I have, what has proven to be, a super method for shortening said calls.
Thanks for your efforts, and I enjoy watching your videos.
Watch the stupid video
Thanks. Good Information.
Naomi, you're a rockstar. Thanks for everything you do.
Very informative, thank you
I appreciate this.
Organic maps,
Works offline
Awesome (and important) video, I found it really really informative, great job
Thanks for the information. ❤
Thank you. I went into the Apple OS on my phone and went to the location settings. Found that I had none of my apps on always but I did have Google set as when in use. I changed that to never. Because of my job, I have Gmail on my phone, but no other of their apps. Thanks.
Thanks Naomi.
