Agreed. We never saw anything to give that section real weight. I guess you could say it's like real war, it has no point and no real satisfaction to be taken. Until resources are uselessly spent. In which it was a decent segue picking back up with such a small force remaining. Just a few more lines in that war speech could have smoothed that out maybe. Idk, small nitpicks in a great movie.
Fun detail the dude that gives furiosa the crappy car during the war is Max's mechanic Chumbucket from the game who designs the car! Besides mentioning Dementus, the wasteland war and Scrotus that 4 ties to the lore miller helped with on the game
Fury Road wasn't a blockbuster.!made less than $400million worldwide which is why everyone was surprised they dedicated another $160million to make another without Max So far its a disaster earning less than $30million...will be last chapter of mad max saga
The Bullet Farmer is played by Lee Perry as Richard Carter passed away in 2019 and CGI was used to create the uncanny resemblance. Didn’t realize that myself till I read it somewhere! Loved this film though.
Idk if anyone else noticed how some members including Dementus of the Biker Horde subtly resembled Norse gods. Dementus riding a chariot with his beard dyed red and a red dyed cape like a mythologically accurate Thor, Rizzdale Pell only has the one eye like Odin, and Octoboss with his horned helmet attire and being the one to turn away from Dementus that gave off a subtle Loki vibe. Idk if it’s a stretch but interesting nonetheless.
I thought Dementus is supposed to be a Greek reference, hence the "Trojan Horse" trick at Gastown, and to contrast with Immortan Joe's "Valhalla" stuff.
I took the meaning of the red dye more literally: He colors himself red and attempts siege of the Citadel with Marxist overtures which are rejected. Later, he achieves his reign (by force) over Gas Town, and the predictable result plays out.
Thanks for this! I was rather appalled that there were only 9 people at the 11:30 IMAX matinee on Sunday when I went. I had a goofy grin on my face for most of this film. I’m glad I live in a world with George Miller in it.
Also one of the guys in the tent with young Furiosa is Tim Burns who played Johnny The Boy from the first Mad Max. And Scrotus is also played by Josh Helman aka Slit from Fury Road. Miller likes to reuse his actors in other parts.
I dont think that really has a correlation, the bear was there to represent all the other bikers with their own belt buckle thing, Dementus is just weird
This movie fells like a PERFECT Dlc to Fury Road and I love it for that. Great Cinema. Perfect character to expand the universe. Long Live Mad Max Saga.
Disappointed that you didn't callout the mannequin strapped to one of the motor bikes that I'm sure was a reference to the mannequin in the original movie.
This movie made with love and passion from George Miller. The consistency, connection, and the logic of the storyline between this movie and Fury Road is amazing!!
The ridge we see in the beginning of the film Is the same ridge that furosia and max pass under with the wives in fury road I think, the pan out shots are almost identical
4:16 - The whistle that Furiosa blows to warn the others is the same high-pitched whistle that Max uses to defeat Blasted in 'Beyond Thunderdome'. Could it be the same one? Did Max hang on to it all those years after leaving the Citadel fortress as a way of remembering Furiosa? And if that's the case, then it confirms that 'Beyond Thunderdome ' is indeed the last chapter to the Mad Max saga (so far).
The choreographed motorcycle revving the Dementus gang does at the Citadel, is very similar to The Road Warrior. Humungus also had the hypeman to introduce himself
Besides Pataky and Hulme, we got another actor doing double-duty: Josh Helman, who played Nux's lancer Slit in 'Fury Road' and now appears as Scrotus here.
The Battles of Boom Towns was probably a reference to towns like Barter Town and fortresses like the Bullet Farm or Citadel rather than another nuclear war
Thanks for highlighting this movie. I Love all these Mad Max films, what a wild ride. This movie works so well and fits in nicely. Its familiar with originality, while at the same time giving you feeling of Wanting More. Great storytelling, special effects, stunt work, comedy, silliness and jaw-clenching ultra-violence (EPIC) ❤🔥
Just saw it tonight. Was absolutely amazing...Because of all the inflation and cost rising for everything, we go to movies on the cheap day (Tuesdays) and also we just wanted to not spend memorial day in a movie theater. I am hoping that is the case because this movie is great and deserves the $
One correction- while you're not the only source claiming that Richard Carter reprised his role as the Bullet Farmer, he died in 2019 and in Furiosa, the part was taken on by Lee Perry (who was one of the "voices" in Fury Road.) I suspect but cannot confirm that CGI was involved.
There is a sport called paragliding which involves a parachute and a backpack fan. The only thing is - they don't go very fast. The setup is legit, but the chase velocity isn't.
Shouldn’t be surprising. Avalanche studio had access to all of Millers notes and stuff, they just know how to put it all together, since miller became disassociated with it
I think Chumbucket from the 2015 video game makes a cameo for he's the one who offers Furiosa a vehicle at the end of the movie and even says how beautiful his vehicle is.
Go to the theater to watch this movie i couldn’t do it for memorial weekend as humans must work to make money but i shall buy tickets this week to enjoy with friends.
11:40 - the actor who plays scrotus also plays one of the war boys in fury road, the one who rides with Nux. I thought he wasn’t in fury road because he could have gotten sick, as seen in this movie (potential tumors on his face) and turned into or cast out as a war boy
It was a good 8.8/10 it was a good movie hope it gets more recognition also Chris Hemsworth as a Villian ayy he did a great job and that Nose helped a lot
This is the most incredible move I have seen in recent times. I literally can't think of a move that I would watch twice in a row but this one. Just epic. If the director had made his own trailer, it would have been a huge hit. I don't know why these hollywood types don't get that they can't pitch a move better than the director
actually I believe its a few days before road warrior as the interceptor still has its lower bumper. because after he rebuild it he never added the bumper back
@@karlheisenberg8016 The Australians call Road Warrior Mad Max 2 . The original Mad Max ( 1979 ) is a low budget wonder . Made for $230,000 when the Aussie dollar was worth around sixty US cents . If you haven't seen it , you really should track it down .

Fun detail the dude that gives furiosa the crappy car during the war is Max's mechanic Chumbucket from the game who designs the car! Besides mentioning Dementus, the wasteland war and Scrotus that 4 ties to the lore miller helped with on the game
Furiosa didn't need such a pointless scene that added nothing, Miller knows what he's doing
People are sleeping on this movie. It’s genuinely so well done! The action sequences make it worth the theatre tickets
I saw it twice
Well worth it if you can afford to
Just find a Dolby cinema
The weakness is dementis, not Chris hemsworths fault..he just played character as they wanted..
The Look of the movie in a big IMAX screen alone worth the ticket price.
That damn bobberknucker truck sequence with flying enemies and many ways of using backhoes as weapons is so so so damn cool
the cgi is horrible compared to fury road
They did great job in connecting this prequel to Fury Road.
its been said george miller wrote a basic version of furiosa before fury road for the actor to read
I hope its sarcasm
George Miller wrote Furiosa, Fury Road, and the Max Movie that’s in between the two movies all at the same time.
