Rick- please keep these up. This is exactly what UA-cam practice rounds should be. A chance to get in the mind of an elite pro working through and talking through a great course. How you explain the methods of analysis and attack adds great value for casual players.
Nobody on the planet could have beaten Ricky the way he played last weekend. He's got all the shots, all the distance, all the putting he needs to completely dismantle any course.
Loving these Ricky! Thank you so much for taking the time to sign discs at Krokhol - It helps spread the joy and the sport when the winner does that. Amazing watching you shed Krokhol, can't wait to see you go at it again. Good luck with the major and keep doing these.
Rick, these videos are perfection. Your insight is savant-level and really breaks down some more advanced thinking in regards to positioning, angles, etc and makes it approachable to us lower level tournament players. These are a gem.
Ricky your practice rounds are great. When you were on the course last week, the announcers didn't the why behind some of your plays. They should watch your practice rounds beforehand. Great content. Thanks for your explanations.
"Use the trees whenever you can" Ricky throws it with no LOS to the basket. Parked it literally 5 feet away. LOL! How did I not know you had a channel with vids?! This has got to be the most informative practice round I have ever seen. Anyone who plays or wants to play could really benefit from this video.
these are fantastic thanks Ricky for taking the time to share your strategy its super fun watching you dissect the holes visualize AND verbalize each shot. really good interesting content.
Man I love these. The breakdowns are so in depth, it’s really nice to see why he makes the decisions he makes. And props to Ricky’s team for all the badass camera angles. Let’s get that W
Love the amount of insight that you give for each shot & approach. It’s given me things to think about out during my rounds. Thank you for the content!
Thank you for making these practice videos. They really give great playing advice. Please be sure to do one for the New London course for world's next month. That is my home course and would love to see how you plan to attack it. See you there!
Man these are amazing, the way you explain what you're thinking and your approach is just unmatched. Kindof like watching Danya play chess. Makes me think back to if I've ever heard you commentate ...
Absolutely love these practice rounds! Ur such a good sport and inspiration to disc golf! Thanks for signing my Slammer today at the Beast, it was an honor!
alright so im only like 2 min in but one thing i really appreciate is how the person filming turns the camera around so we can see the context of the fairway and start getting an idea for the hole. so many times in other practice round vids im confused as to where they are; even if they do a great job of explaining their decisions it's nice to have the visual context.
I can't click on these videos fast enough. The hole breakdowns and hearing your thoughts and strategies is so helpful for an amateur like myself. Best of all, I get to go out to Tampere and watch you guys play round 1 in a few hours 💪🤩
Thanks for this type of breakdown thru your thought process you are my favorite player on the course and I bag a felon raider and judge that will never leave the bag they fly so great for me
Great stuff again, thank you! One comment regarding hole number two: you want to throw an understable disc on a hyzer and inside line. Then you have higher chance to glide left enough in the end. Maybe 😅
Welcome to Finland! Me and my buddies booked a spectator round for the Monster Sunday morning! We expect to be greatly humbled 😅 but afterwards we have VIP tickets for the final round at Beast. Hopefully see you there on the podium! Enjoy the European Open! Finn tip: head to the Sauna to heal your signature fatigued wrist before Thursday! 🇫🇮🇺🇸
Man I'm happy to see you in Finland. Sucks that I'm (again) stuck at work in Eastern Finland 😮💨. You're the pro that really inspired me when I started playing AND the one that got me to try Trilogy discs. There's always next year I guess, I've been meaning to finish a dye job on a disc that pays homage to you 😂, would've been cool to finish it and give it to you
Not going to lie i wasn't your biggest fan at the start, but after watching you youtube videos during covid you quickly became my favorite player/personality on the pro tour and content side.
I love these videos, both to see you play these courses before we watch the coverage, but mainly for all the golden nuggets you put in there for us amateurs to learn from, really appreciate it! A question; has your new disc The General sort of replaced the Rives you were using before in that overstable slot in your bag? Good luck this weekend!
Ricky you signed a disc we bought at Texas state Champs 2022. my wife mentioned throwing that disc you were like "youre gonna throw this?" The disc has never been thrown and says x2... You ended up winning texas states. Keep up the solid energy and x3 is yours my dude!
6:00 that's a par putt, not a birdie putt, right? 1st shot landed at the bubble, second shot before the guardian trees, third shot was to the circle, and putt for par? Amazing videos though, Rick! Love the practice rounds and your breakdowns are helping me visualize my rounds as well.
Multiple things. Greetings from Denmark, welcome to the north, hope you enjoy your stay. I think it's a good thing when you're pointing out something that might not be the best design-wise, like hole 2. It's a valid point. Never stop critiquing. If you put your pen between index and middle-finger, it's going to feel absolutely weird, but it puts less strain on the wrist. This course is hard, considering the level you play at, which is the absolute top. Don't you think this level of difficulty is fair? From a viewers perspective, watching people fight for every stroke was very enjoyable.
Hole 7 I wish that muck pit was a little bit prettier. I suppose it adds to the intimidation factor, but it's visually so unsightly on an otherwise pretty course. As a local I'm proud if this track, but there's a couple aesthetic blemishes there IMO like all the water hazards are gross muddy ditches.
So cool Rickster! Loved watching you live at Krokhol. What a dominating performance. And damn, you're making this course look too easy - Tampere is the most difficult course I've ever played. Also, didn't you ace hole 8 in a casual round in 2022?
I think you got another one in you. I watched your previous one and you stuck to your own script, as you build it, through these videos. Do that again, and we will see you on the podium.
Rick- please keep these up. This is exactly what UA-cam practice rounds should be. A chance to get in the mind of an elite pro working through and talking through a great course. How you explain the methods of analysis and attack adds great value for casual players.
I plan to thanks a lot for tuning in!🙏
Facts!!
@@RickySockibombWysockiyeah these are the best!!
Thanks for taking the time to do these I really enjoy them. You’re on of my favorite personalities in the sport.
Right on man 🙏
Nobody on the planet could have beaten Ricky the way he played last weekend. He's got all the shots, all the distance, all the putting he needs to completely dismantle any course.
There were a couple of spit out misses he literally could have 15 or 16 down, on the first round I think
Win this major Ricky!!!
Best DG series on youtube. So much to learn here and its FREE!
I’m an old fart that is fairly new to the sport. I absolutely love your practice rounds. Keep ‘em coming. Good luck this weekend
"Hold my Battery"

Great to have you in Finland! Hope to see you on lead card!

This is legitimately the gold standard for course previews. Thank you, Ricky
This dude knows courses, and constantly perfects his game. Ricky you’re the definition of an athlete
Never stop these Ricky, as long as you can continue to do them!!
Thanks for making these practice round videos. You explaining strategies makes the game even more fun.
The ritual continues 🏆
Rick, these videos are perfection. Your insight is savant-level and really breaks down some more advanced thinking in regards to positioning, angles, etc and makes it approachable to us lower level tournament players. These are a gem.
Love your play by play. I think it has helped me with course management. Keep this type of content up, please.
Great to see you not slowing down one damn bit, Rick!
Let's get that 3rd world title this year!🤘🧝🥏🌲🏆
Ricky your practice rounds are great. When you were on the course last week, the announcers didn't the why behind some of your plays. They should watch your practice rounds beforehand. Great content. Thanks for your explanations.
Cool to see Yussi, keep it up Ricky
Good luck Rick!!
These videos really let us see the courses true beauty and designs. Shoutout to Ricky and his crew giving us these shots
Another great run through! Good luck this weekend Ricky!
really love hearing your thought process on how you want to play the course. Much to learn from!
Helping me break down courses easier. Love the info. I enjoy other practice rounds but these are invaluable man. Thanks
Your practice rounds are great the way you explain everything actually helps me. Thank you
yeah. love listening to what is going through Ricky's mind as he walks through a course. so cool.
It is great how you break down the holes in the course, how you choose your shots and the disc selection.
"Use the trees whenever you can" Ricky throws it with no LOS to the basket. Parked it literally 5 feet away. LOL!

By far the best walkthroughs. Epic!
This is becoming my fav DG series on YT! You are doing great work Rick, keep it up!
Ricky complaining about his wrist being sore from signing autographs is straight up suffering from success 😂
This is such a helpful video. Explaining shots and why is what a novice like me is looking for. It is opening my eyes. Keep up this format.
These videos are my favourite. I went from a Ricky agnostic to a huge fan in 2 weeks.
Thank you very much for these fenomenal practice rounds! I hope they also help you to focus, if ever possible, better in the tournaments 👍👌💪

Even though that I have been a MVP fan from 2013, you have been one of my favorite MPO players to watch. Thanks for the content and breakdown ❤
Good stuff Ricky, these videos are perfect
I heard wood chips he says from 400 holy crap you have hawk hearing or something? lmfao
When the disc comes in at 97 miles an hour I guess you can hear it. Also, hawks are known for their eye sight, not their hearing.
@@MegaLaban12345 nobody throws 97 mph but ya idk why i compared it to a hawk lol also was drunk when i posted this lol
These vids are awesome Ricky!!!!!!

New course record incoming :D

have to start signing lefty
They say teaching is the best way to learn. I wonder if that's what going on with Ricky's game. Teaching the course solidifies it for him.

practice round focused on the actual course, in half the time? jomez take notes 😄
"I'm not result-oriented!" That's such a poker player thing to say.
It’s true though. Spit out in disc golf is like loosing aces against j-10 or something like that 😂
Hyvä heitto
Chris Dickerson obviously watched this video.
Jesse Nieminen shot a 9 under practise round. And I think the official course record is -8 by Niklas Anttila.
Almost guaranteed 8 under gets broken this weekend.
@@samanthony8121 i would say it is very likely, but probably not as quaranteed as you may think...
@@akselikotti9887 After today i think your right. Although if the conditions are better tomorrow it may get broken.

No thank you!
20:03 the only thing I'm seeing this guy do is ruin one of the best holes in disc golf at this course. CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
