We really appreciate your reaction to their music and look forward to growing with us and new Madiacs. It's the same band. They did have a different look than they do now (including the red maid costumes). MISA, the bassist, ditched the maid costume for a solid black ninja pajama look, Akane, the drummer, eventually ditched the tiny hat because it hurt her head. Saiki, the lead vocalist first ditched the apron that came with the costume and then creating her own outfits we see today. Welcome to the "pigeon-hole" my friend. Why do I say the "pigeon-hole", Miku Kobato, the rhythm guitarist, backup vocalist, and chief lyricist, considers herself to be the reincarnation of an 810 year old pigeon. She's the founder and chief spokesperson for the Maids. She ends every sentence she utters with "po", her version of pigeon speak. This quirky speech is often disconcerting but endearing to listeners. After a while, you won't even notice it when she speaks.
Many of us, myself included (67 years old) have had our musical perspective turned upside down by the likes of Band-Maid (personally, it was BABYMETAL, which led me to my all time favorite, Band-Maid, and several other amazing Japanese & other Asian bands) and we are not expecting to relive this experience again in our lifetime … so, second best is to relive it through others discovering just how awesome music can still be. No need to thank us … thank you for allowing us to experience this “relived joy”!
Your sound settings are perfect now. This was their first music video when they were in their early 20's,and it took off like crazy. Then,all of their songs were written for them as required by the label. It wasn't until the 3rd album when they were allowed to record an original,ALONE,which has remained in my top 5 favorites. Everything since has been original,except the latest release,BESTIE,co written with Incubus. Loving your reviews of their music.
“The song that saved the band: Thrill.” This was to be their first and last video. The label was pulling the plug and the Maids would never have recorded another song. However…someone shared this on a Facebook group and ☢️ 💥 🔥 it went viral. So much so that the girls thought they’re account had been hacked. (Anyone please correct any errors) From here, you might have a fun time exploring some of their earliest work, seeing how they developed their sound. Miku 🌹 didn’t even know how to play guitar at this point! I would highly recommend “Choose Me,” OMV. Their third single, an early show grand finale song, and one that got placed in a Netflix show “Kate” From there? A mind-boggling number of legitimate banger after banger…please be open about any likes/dislikes as it helps with song suggestions 👍🏽

Quintessential Band-Maid song for all reactors to start with. Regardless of what Band-Maid ever comes out with going forward, this song will forever be in my top five Band-Maid songs because of its significance to their current existence.
