"I don't have time to be hungover". 100% agree. I phased out alcohol beginning of this year and it's been a game changer. So happy a lot of other producers are having this mindset. Great video as always man! 🔥
I am 6 months into my non-drinking journey coming from drinking every day since I was 18 years old. Music production is what saved me. I realized that I simply can’t put the 30 plus hours of week getting better at production and still be present full time within my growing business (outside of music) with the daily habit of drinking. I will say that I’ve never felt more clear about my path and purpose. I do struggle with what to do when I go out. There’s a part of me that misses the good times and dissolving of the thinking mind that drinking facilitates and still need to find out how I have fun in those situations, but I wouldn’t trade where I’m at now for anything. I’ve also started to notice that some of the most successful people I meet don’t drink. It’s amazing what you can do when you remove this distraction from your life. So if you’re somebody, who’s on the fence, try it for two months and journal your experience. There’s a good chance you won’t go back.
Great video - really appreciate the insight. I had a turning point around two years ago that catalyzed a change in me to significantly reduce my drinking to levels where I never drink enough to get a hangover anymore and its been a great boon in my life.
Another great episode! This one speaks to me. First off congrats on being alcohol free for 2 years! 🎉 I quit drinking about a month ago. Main reasons, got sick of the brain fog, didn’t like how it would setback my schedule for the upcoming days and I’ve know that in order to create longevity in this industry and our lives in general we have to eliminate some of the things that will not aide in that success. It was definitely a crutch to take the edge off before a set or during social settings. I quit for an entire year a couple of years ago so I know I can stick to it again. Went out to support a couple of friends that played the past couple of weekends and all I had was water or club soda and lime. I had an amazing time! And no hangovers 🙌🏽 *Riders for 2025 are going to look different now. Water and maybe some drinks* Cheers bro!
I used to use alcohol to help with those anxiety feelings during social settings. I realized later on alcohol was just masking that anxiety vs completely removing it. Decided to lessen my alcohol, intake, or even go completely sober for shows and it definitely increase my social confidence and lessened my depedence on it. Great video!
The sobriety piece was great bro. Specifically the not having time portion, time flies and the older you get the more the recovery takes and at that point it’s not worth it. You’re a great example 🙌🏽🫡 My question is: How hard was discipline for you before you started to gain some traction in the music game/gain a good following? How did you go about finding what worked best? Setting boundaries and sacrifices? I feel like discipline is 100% what lies between us and our goals.
Love your videos. I was wondering, I've been DJing for 15 years but have little production experience. I do want to focus more on productions and create my own stuff to play festivals. What would you recommend?
Once in a while I only took like 1 tbsp 😅😂, but most of the times I'd prefer iced americano or iced caffe latte or just cold water or iced tea to get through the nights. Gotta stay focused & make sure muscle recovery as good as possible after gym.
As a producer, do you think we should stick to one genre? I'm a huge fan of trance. From progressive, uplifting to tech trance. I also want to dabble in techno, drum n bass, and progressive house in the style of Eric Prydz and GMJ. It's pretty overwhelming 😂

I love your flip on other's success. Something that also helps me is saying 'your only competition is your past self'. Keep up the great vids!

How much time is necessary to master a track. How do you get it so clear sounding?
