Everytime I listen to pastor Doug, when he speaks to a child or children, or tells a Bible story as one would to a child, I am so wonderfully impressed. I imagine him telling the Bible stories to his children, bringing them to life, bringing them to reality like only Jesus could. He not only knows his Bible well, he tells the Bible well.

Dear Ps Doug, I think it's a little contradictory to say that the society needs to have a degree of "decency and morality", but then when it comes to voting for a president, we must "hold our noses" against the INDECENCY and IMMORALITY of that person's "personal life", and vote for that person because we're only voting for "issues", and after all, we're not voting for a "pastor". Should we then hold the nation to a higher standard of "decency and morality" than the leader of the nation? Does leadership work that way? Should we encourage putting up the 10 Commandments in schools, but then when a potential leader is found to break almost all of them in such a public way, we give him a "pass" because, Well we dont expect him to be a pastor? Is everyone else expected to live like a pastor, then? What does that mean? I thought you had mentioned that basic "decency and morality" was a reasonable expectation...? My granddaughter 9 yo at that time, survived an F5 tornado that destroyed my home. She was afraid of storms afterwards until her father explained the necessity of storms. It helped immensely. She is in her 20s today and doing ok.

How should the government enforce “Thou shalt not covet”? Calling out Christian Nationalism is not denying America’s Christian history or denying the government has an interest in morals-especially as it relates to decisions the impact others life and property. The idea that the last 6 commandments are just transferable to government rules and policies isn’t that straightforward. It is in some cases (don’t steal, don’t murder) but even bearing false witness has government enforcement limits (being under oath). Ultimately though grateful here for the Amazing Facts team being willing to take on these troubling times and issues.

Praying and Bible study in the past in public schools were not legislated; they were done by practice. Today, they want to accomplish these by legislation. This would not be constitutional and would violate the rights of those who are not religious.
Those who want it in schools are they doing it at home? If it’s done at home first you don’t need it at school. People can privately pray anytime and anywhere. Teach your children how to pray.
In full agreement--legislating the 10 Commandments violates the separation of church and state, which is a fundamental belief of the Adventist church, and leads to religious persecution. Even if the government gets involved with the last 6 Commandments, as suggested, how can it enforce agaisnt coveting? Or against dishonouring parents? Or how will it punish people who commit adultery? How about emotional adultery or adultery in the mind? We don't live in a theocracy. God says the 10 Commandments must be written on our hearts--they cannot be enforced.
I'm more concerned about the movement that is behind putting the 10 Commandments in schools--it's a movement that is trying to bring about a "false revival", as EGW puts it, and bring the country back to God in order to address the immorality and violence in society. But EGW says the revival will be false, as it is not true conversion and will lead to a false view of Christianity and will lead to religious persecution. You mentioned the other "Christian" churches do have some truth. I have studied quite a few Evangelical churches. I have found that they have as a general rule one and only one truth. They believe Jesus is the Savior, that he was born to live, die and be resurrected for our sins. Unfortunately that is the only doctrine they have that is Biblical. They often teach the 10 commandments were nailed to the cross with our sins. They teach pre tribulation rapture. They teach going to Heaven or hell immediately after death. They believe the 1000 years will be on earth in Jerusalem, not in Heaven. They reject the seventh day Sabbath. They believe the anti Christ is an actual person. I actually heard a Calvary Chaple pastor teach it would likely be a Muslim. The same pastor said in multiple sermons that the Bible doesn't teach pre tribulation rapture, but it is believed by tradition. I also heard nationally renowned pastor teach that the war in Heaven had not yet happened. Now, we have several states wanting to mandate the Bible and 10 commandments be displayed in all schools. While I believe the bans should be lifted for these as well as prayer, the fact they are making it mandatory is Satanic in nature. The Adventist church is clearly against mandates, especially with the coming Sunday laws. So as good as the Bible, the 10 commandments and prayer are, the devil is clearly preparing for a takeover of Evangelical Christianity. I believe we must be very careful about saying there's truth in other churches. Best I can tell, they are introducing people to Christ. That is good. Unfortunately, that is where they end. They introduce to Jesus and then proceed to teach nothing else that is true. Pastor Doug, I pray for you, your wife and your family. It's been a few years since I've seen you, but know you and your ministry are important. Keep doing God's work. May Jesus come soon.
The true church is ALL those who believe and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They believe in Jesus, shouldn't we be joyful that they are saved too?
@@claramartinez2592 The Bible does say that all who believe in Him will be saved. What my point is, this works for individuals who believe in Jesus like thief on the cross. What it does not work for is when you accept Jesus and have a long term relationship with Him, you must strive to follow Him. He said if we love Him to keep His commandments. Revelation says those saved at the second coming are those who keep the commandments and have the faith of Jesus. That being said, churches that claim to worship God, accept Jesus as Savior and yet reject scripture, including the ten commandments are not actually serving Christ, but Satan. Satan knows the scriptures better than any human. "Christians" who reject certain parts of scripture are duped by Satan and are just as lost eternally as those who reject all scripture. Satan doesn't have to work to make unbelievers eternally lost. They already are, unless they are reached by God through His church. However, it's Christians who Satan works hard to deceive. If a "Christian" introduces someone to Jesus and then turns around and teaches lies, did they really introduce them to Jesus? That's where my problem lies. I've listened to many sermons that are supposed to be Christian, but are not. The Bible says that if they do not teach according to the Word, there is no light in them.
We cannot say as Christians that this was real or stage just like we cannot judge. But when someone shoots and misses that speaks volumes and makes you wonder what Satan is devising. I certainly can agree that this world is evil and our goal is to prepare to meet Jesus…not what’s happening around us “but to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling”!

In those last days, when Sunday laws going to affect approaching the time of the antichrist true Christians that are like Christians found in the book of Acts that keep the sabbath holy and do not buy or sell on the Sabbath Will be the real enemies of the state. Those that are already been taken into the reformation started by Luther to try to reverse some of the heresy of the Roman Catholic Church already worship on the 1st day of the week Sunday. However, all true Christians who have committed their life to Jesus Christ are sealed by the Holy Spirit. They Have less temptation to take the mark of the beast and will be protected by God during those times many call the tribulation. On that there are different takes in preparation for those dark days. Some feel that God‘s protection and seal lead them into a safe place and provide for them to survive. Extreme right wing Christian conservatives believe we should have a stock pile of dried foods stored-put away to last for decades. That seems hypothetical. And in the evangelic faith, still hoping on that sudden pre-tribulation rapture rather than going through the tumultuous times until the second coming of Christ. Thank you for the question regarding the Jews. I have been in the church for so many years and this is the first time I have heard that many Jews will eventually accept Jesus. I enjoyed reading Romans 9, 10 and especially chapter 11. It gave me a lot of truth about Israel that has been ignored and rejected a lot.
I am observing what is taking place in this world, and Jews are being persecuted, slaughtered, and hated for so long. I believe they are being hated due to Sabbath. Their existence is a testimony of God's law. I also believe that they will have a great revival thanks to the world politics forsaking and failing them in so many ways (just look what UN did to them recently).
As a Christian, I have no business in condemning Jews for what their ancestors did to Jesus. Bible was written mostly by Hebrews. The first group of Christians and evangelists were all Jews, and Jesus forgave those who killed Him already. I owe Jews a lot as a gentile. Antisemitism first came from Roman Empire, since the revolutionary spirit of Jews plague the empire so bad that Rome even came up with the name of Palestine to irritate Jews. However, this mentality crept into the church due to the gentile Christians' fear of persecution (by Rome) at first (some of those Christians abandoned Sabbath and started eating unclean foods to claim their difference from Jews), and then entered the church in full force after Christianity had become the official religion of Roman Empire. That is history. Regarding the understanding of the Bible and the Truth, Christianity suffered much from abandoning Jewish Christian brothers and sisters, and is still suffering today. Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to Jewish people should be the burden for all gentile Christians.
May I suggest another topic¿ the Euphrates Rivers is getting dried and so many people is talking it is the fulfillment of the prophecy in the book of Revelation which is completely wrong interpretation.
That is simple and easy to respond to: #1 - The 7 last plagues follow each other in succession. That's why they are called the 1st angel, 1st plague/vial/bowl, 2nd angel, 2nd plague, etc The drying up of the Euphrates River is part of the 6th plague. The 1st five plagues must occur before the 6th angel pours out the 6th vial. #2 - This is most likely symbolic. The Euphrates must be dried up to prepare the ways of the kings of the east (and their armies) to gather them together in the Valley of Meggido (which is west of the Euphrates). No river (no matter how wide, deep or flooded) could stop the armies of today from crossing...... Not even the wide oceans can stop a military force from invading another country.
I believe there may be another reason the drying of the euphrates river. God doesn't write prophesy for the fun of it. But it is drying up. Another reason 😢to get ready for Christ's soon return. It may be sooner than we expect. God bless.
And... the Euphrates river is symbolic of people with their politico-religious support- not an actual body of water which, I understand, is not formidable enough to be a physical obstacle.
@@davidstarr6604 The book of Revelation refers to a symbolic Euphrates, not a literal one, since waters in symbolism means people, therefore, the drying of the Euphrates happens when people come out of the catholic pagan church, not the physical river.

They are not hanging the real 10 Commandments. They are going to display the abbreviated Commandments by the Roman papal system. There will be no number two, and 8 and 9 will be split, and number 4 will be condensed.

Kinda like living with your parents: you are free to use all the house services as long as you live by house rules. @@trav8080 I’ve warned fellow Adventists about this in the past, but for whatever reason a lot can’t seem to get it. We like to say that God instituted 2 things in Eden (marriage and sabbath). If we allow government to dictate who we can and cannot marry, it won’t be long before they dictate when and how we worship. God gives freedom. Freedom to marry who we want. Freedom to worship who we want. This is not a theocracy. At least, not yet.
I have a question. I feel torn between 2 verses, the first is how it tells us not to not be unequally yoked with non believers but then another verse tells us that the unbelieving partner will be sanctified through the believing partner. I'm not sure how to make the right decision as I am 37 (became a Christian 4 years ago) and I've never been married and I would like to find a wife. It's hard to find Christian women in the same situation as me. I've met a few but most have been divorced and I don't want to be with a divorced woman. Any help would be greatly appreciated! There are several verses throughout the Bible that warn against marrying someone who does not believe. Yes, there is a verse that says, through your loving and long suffering behavior, you may soften the heart of your spouse and convert them. This is the exception, however, and not the rule. The Bible warns against it for good reason. Being a true Christian affects your whole lifestyle and worldview, and closely yoking yourself to someone who thinks and acts totally differently *will* cause conflict in the relationship eventually, regardless of how good your intentions are. Whenever you have a conflict in a relationship, either you have to permanently agree to disagree (which isn't very healthy), or someone will have to compromise and meet in the middle. As a Christian, you cannot compromise on God's Law without breaking it. And typically, the believer in a relationship is usually the one who ends up compromising. Sorry for the wall of text. I've just seen this happen countless times in my life and I cannot overstate how damaging it can be to your relationship with God.
I walk in the same shoes as you my friend. Proverbs 31 tells us of the virtuous woman. Their prior relationship status is not my concern, as much as her walk with God in obedience.
My understanding is, if someone becomes a believer AFTER getting married, that is the case where the latter scenario or verse would apply. A believer should never marry (or be yoked with) an unbeliever.

There is no such thing as different "races" it is only skin colour. Skin colour means nothing, we are all ONE race, the Human race, this is exactly what the Bible teaches. Even evolutionists believe now that there is no such thing as different races. Then why were all the "races" included in the fall when Adam sinned? There is great diversity in the human genome so that all the "races" could indeed descend from Adam and Eve, especially over time an if different branches separated (like described in the story of the tower or Babel). If you enter into a relationship with someone who follows different beliefs, it is very, very likely that you will end up compromising your own beliefs to better match their behavior. I've been through it myself, and I've seen it in my mother's relationship. You might be strong at first, but over long months and years your strength will be whittled down until you compromise. This is especially a problem in regards to sabbath keeping. If you keep the sabbath and your partner does not, you will inevitably end up having trouble in the relationship because of it.

Dear Ps Doug, I think it's a little contradictory to say that the society needs to have a degree of "decency and morality", but then when it comes to voting for a president, we must "hold our noses" against the INDECENCY and IMMORALITY of that person's "personal life", and vote for that person because we're only voting for "issues", and after all, we're not voting for a "pastor". Should we then hold the nation to a higher standard of "decency and morality" than the leader of the nation? Does leadership work that way? Should we encourage putting up the 10 Commandments in schools, but then when a potential leader is found to break almost all of them in such a public way, we give him a "pass" because, Well we dont expect him to be a pastor? Is everyone else expected to live like a pastor, then? What does that mean? I thought you had mentioned that basic "decency and morality" was a reasonable expectation...? My granddaughter 9 yo at that time, survived an F5 tornado that destroyed my home. She was afraid of storms afterwards until her father explained the necessity of storms. It helped immensely. She is in her 20s today and doing ok.

Are we soft pedaling Christian Nationalism a bit here? Especially if the belief is a false form of Christianity will try and unduly try and enforce religious beliefs? This violation of freedom of religion will not start with egregious stuff..it’ll begin with subtle things. Like putting up a Ten Commandments in schools that isn’t even fully Biblical (for example no mention of the 7th Day).
How should the government enforce “Thou shalt not covet”? Calling out Christian Nationalism is not denying America’s Christian history or denying the government has an interest in morals-especially as it relates to decisions the impact others life and property.
The idea that the last 6 commandments are just transferable to government rules and policies isn’t that straightforward. It is in some cases (don’t steal, don’t murder) but even bearing false witness has government enforcement limits (being under oath).
Ultimately though grateful here for the Amazing Facts team being willing to take on these troubling times and issues.

In full agreement--legislating the 10 Commandments violates the separation of church and state, which is a fundamental belief of the Adventist church, and leads to religious persecution. Even if the government gets involved with the last 6 Commandments, as suggested, how can it enforce agaisnt coveting? Or against dishonouring parents? Or how will it punish people who commit adultery? How about emotional adultery or adultery in the mind? We don't live in a theocracy. God says the 10 Commandments must be written on our hearts--they cannot be enforced.
I'm more concerned about the movement that is behind putting the 10 Commandments in schools--it's a movement that is trying to bring about a "false revival", as EGW puts it, and bring the country back to God in order to address the immorality and violence in society. But EGW says the revival will be false, as it is not true conversion and will lead to a false view of Christianity and will lead to religious persecution. Watch Ps Mark Finley's video on the direction of the USA in light of the attempted assassination--very informative.

You mentioned the other "Christian" churches do have some truth. I have studied quite a few Evangelical churches. I have found that they have as a general rule one and only one truth. They believe Jesus is the Savior, that he was born to live, die and be resurrected for our sins.
Unfortunately that is the only doctrine they have that is Biblical. They often teach the 10 commandments were nailed to the cross with our sins. They teach pre tribulation rapture. They teach going to Heaven or hell immediately after death. They believe the 1000 years will be on earth in Jerusalem, not in Heaven. They reject the seventh day Sabbath. They believe the anti Christ is an actual person. I actually heard a Calvary Chaple pastor teach it would likely be a Muslim. The same pastor said in multiple sermons that the Bible doesn't teach pre tribulation rapture, but it is believed by tradition. I also heard nationally renowned pastor teach that the war in Heaven had not yet happened.
Now, we have several states wanting to mandate the Bible and 10 commandments be displayed in all schools. While I believe the bans should be lifted for these as well as prayer, the fact they are making it mandatory is Satanic in nature. The Adventist church is clearly against mandates, especially with the coming Sunday laws. So as good as the Bible, the 10 commandments and prayer are, the devil is clearly preparing for a takeover of Evangelical Christianity. I believe we must be very careful about saying there's truth in other churches. Best I can tell, they are introducing people to Christ. That is good. Unfortunately, that is where they end. They introduce to Jesus and then proceed to teach nothing else that is true.

What it does not work for is when you accept Jesus and have a long term relationship with Him, you must strive to follow Him. He said if we love Him to keep His commandments. Revelation says those saved at the second coming are those who keep the commandments and have the faith of Jesus. That being said, churches that claim to worship God, accept Jesus as Savior and yet reject scripture, including the ten commandments are not actually serving Christ, but Satan. Satan knows the scriptures better than any human. "Christians" who reject certain parts of scripture are duped by Satan and are just as lost eternally as those who reject all scripture. Satan doesn't have to work to make unbelievers eternally lost. They already are, unless they are reached by God through His church. However, it's Christians who Satan works hard to deceive. If a "Christian" introduces someone to Jesus and then turns around and teaches lies, did they really introduce them to Jesus? That's where my problem lies. I've listened to many sermons that are supposed to be Christian, but are not. The Bible says that if they do not teach according to the Word, there is no light in them.

In those last days, when Sunday laws going to affect approaching the time of the antichrist true Christians that are like Christians found in the book of Acts that keep the sabbath holy and do not buy or sell on the Sabbath Will be the real enemies of the state. On that there are different takes in preparation for those dark days. Some feel that God‘s protection and seal lead them into a safe place and provide for them to survive. Extreme right wing Christian conservatives believe we should have a stock pile of dried foods stored-put away to last for decades. That seems hypothetical. And in the evangelic faith, still hoping on that sudden pre-tribulation rapture rather than going through the tumultuous times until the second coming of Christ. Thank you for the question regarding the Jews. I have been in the church for so many years and this is the first time I have heard that many Jews will eventually accept Jesus. I enjoyed reading Romans 9, 10 and especially chapter 11. It gave me a lot of truth about Israel that has been ignored and rejected a lot.
I am observing what is taking place in this world, and Jews are being persecuted, slaughtered, and hated for so long. I believe they are being hated due to Sabbath. Their existence is a testimony of God's law. I also believe that they will have a great revival thanks to the world politics forsaking and failing them in so many ways (just look what UN did to them recently).
As a Christian, I have no business in condemning Jews for what their ancestors did to Jesus. Bible was written mostly by Hebrews. The first group of Christians and evangelists were all Jews, and Jesus forgave those who killed Him already. I owe Jews a lot as a gentile.
Antisemitism first came from Roman Empire, since the revolutionary spirit of Jews plague the empire so bad that Rome even came up with the name of Palestine to irritate Jews. However, this mentality crept into the church due to the gentile Christians' fear of persecution (by Rome) at first (some of those Christians abandoned Sabbath and started eating unclean foods to claim their difference from Jews), and then entered the church in full force after Christianity had become the official religion of Roman Empire. That is history. Regarding the understanding of the Bible and the Truth, Christianity suffered much from abandoning Jewish Christian brothers and sisters, and is still suffering today.
Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to Jewish people should be the burden for all gentile Christians.
May I suggest another topic¿ the Euphrates Rivers is getting dried and so many people is talking it is the fulfillment of the prophecy in the book of Revelation which is completely wrong interpretation.
That is simple and easy to respond to:
#1 - The 7 last plagues follow each other in succession. That's why they are called the 1st angel, 1st plague/vial/bowl, 2nd angel, 2nd plague, etc
The drying up of the Euphrates River is part of the 6th plague. The 1st five plagues must occur before the 6th angel pours out the 6th vial.
#2 - This is most likely symbolic. The Euphrates must be dried up to prepare the ways of the kings of the east (and their armies) to gather them together in the Valley of Meggido (which is west of the Euphrates).
No river (no matter how wide, deep or flooded) could stop the armies of today from crossing......
Not even the wide oceans can stop a military force from invading another country.
I believe there may be another reason the drying of the euphrates river. God doesn't write prophesy for the fun of it. But it is drying up. Another reason 😢to get ready for Christ's soon return. It may be sooner than we expect. God bless.
And... the Euphrates river is symbolic of people with their politico-religious support- not an actual body of water which, I understand, is not formidable enough to be a physical obstacle.

@@abbycat000 I wonder what type of education they're receiving unless the teachers themselves are teaching kids to kill a person. But God's 6th Commandment is clear, "You shall not murder." (Exodus 20:13, NKJV). You can't see this on display in schools anymore because many state laws prohibit them.

We like to say that God instituted 2 things in Eden (marriage and sabbath). If we allow government to dictate who we can and cannot marry, it won’t be long before they dictate when and how we worship.
God gives freedom. Freedom to marry who we want. Freedom to worship who we want. This is not a theocracy. At least, not yet.
I have a question. I feel torn between 2 verses, the first is how it tells us not to not be unequally yoked with non believers but then another verse tells us that the unbelieving partner will be sanctified through the believing partner. I'm not sure how to make the right decision as I am 37 (became a Christian 4 years ago) and I've never been married and I would like to find a wife. It's hard to find Christian women in the same situation as me. I've met a few but most have been divorced and I don't want to be with a divorced woman.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are several verses throughout the Bible that warn against marrying someone who does not believe.
Yes, there is a verse that says, through your loving and long suffering behavior, you may soften the heart of your spouse and convert them. This is the exception, however, and not the rule. The Bible warns against it for good reason. Being a true Christian affects your whole lifestyle and worldview, and closely yoking yourself to someone who thinks and acts totally differently *will* cause conflict in the relationship eventually, regardless of how good your intentions are.
Whenever you have a conflict in a relationship, either you have to permanently agree to disagree (which isn't very healthy), or someone will have to compromise and meet in the middle. As a Christian, you cannot compromise on God's Law without breaking it. And typically, the believer in a relationship is usually the one who ends up compromising.
Sorry for the wall of text. I've just seen this happen countless times in my life and I cannot overstate how damaging it can be to your relationship with God.

I walk in the same shoes as you my friend. Proverbs 31 tells us of the virtuous woman. Their prior relationship status is not my concern, as much as her walk with God in obedience.

My understanding is, if someone becomes a believer AFTER getting married, that is the case where the latter scenario or verse would apply. A believer should never marry (or be yoked with) an unbeliever.

There is no such thing as different "races" it is only skin colour. Skin colour means nothing, we are all ONE race, the Human race, this is exactly what the Bible teaches. Even evolutionists believe now that there is no such thing as different races. If a male human being can reproduce with a female human being no matter what their skin colour is and have a fertile child then they are the same race.

Then why were all the "races" included in the fall when Adam sinned?
There is great diversity in the human genome so that all the "races" could indeed descend from Adam and Eve, especially over time an if different branches separated (like described in the story of the tower or Babel).

If you enter into a relationship with someone who follows different beliefs, it is very, very likely that you will end up compromising your own beliefs to better match their behavior. I've been through it myself, and I've seen it in my mother's relationship. You might be strong at first, but over long months and years your strength will be whittled down until you compromise.
This is especially a problem in regards to sabbath keeping. If you keep the sabbath and your partner does not, you will inevitably end up having trouble in the relationship because of it.
