I really love how Katara did not just accept Zuko into the group. She's often seen as this caring, positive, compassionate and understanding person, but this gives her nuance. Yeah, she's compassionate and all that, and maybe she trusts people too quick, because she's abld to see the good in them, or because she connects so fast with them. But I love what kind of character she is because of how she doesn't forgive Zuko in this episode. It makes her even more realistic and alao badass. Katara is the last waterbender of the SWT, a tribe that is only a village, and was almost decimated, but she can make the fire prince sweat with fear and freeze with fear! She's not only a force to be reckoned with, she's also protecting her own hurt feelings. I bet she blamed herself for Aang's short death. She thought that if she hadn't trusted Zuko, somehow things would have gone differently. I could even imagine she had nightmares about healing Zuko, and then losing Aang. And the world would be lost because of her compassion. So she's closing herself off now. I absolutely agree that Katara threatened Zuko because of her overprotectiveness for Aang, I just wanted to point out some possible other reasons. 😊 Dee, it's allright. I cried, too😭😊
It's Katara's loving, caring and compassionate nature that makes her treat Zuko in that way, it's just like Zuko's mother told him about how Mothers protect their children, it's because Katara cares and feels so much for Aang and her group of friends that she would go so far as to potentially kill Zuko if that was what was required to keep them safe. Sure someone like Azula who has no attachments is terrifying, but having to face off with someone who is fighting for the lives of their friends, and family is even more frightening, because there is nothing a lot of people wouldn't do to keep those they love safe
Katara being the one to hold a grudge is also very consistent with her character. It’s like with Jet. He betrayed her trust once-after having connected with him over their shared experience of losing loved ones to the Fire Nation-and so the next time he tried to work with their group she was the last person to give him another chance.
While Sokka is rather cautious Katara is a very trusting person who sees the good in people. But once you've betrayed her trust it's hard to earn it back. ^^
I think if Sokka had held Suki’s dead body in his arms or even Toph’s while Zuko advanced on him alongside Azula he would never trust Zuko unless he was literally killed for them.
@@mattiaachille233 I don't know, Sokka is careful but not one to hold a grudge easily, He lost his mother, then hist first love to the fireNation, Yet revenge never was on his mind against the firenation, he's always been protective of their civilians. He's insanely mature about his grieves.

Katara’s Speech is one of my favorite ones from the entire series. It’s curious but I’m glad how you understand her cause she was the first person who trusted in him in Ba Sin Ze. and then? We all know what happened, he betrayed her, and due to his betrayal Aang passed away for a while, I still remember Katara Crying and holding Aang. We are so happy now Zuko is here with the team Avatar. Such a great reaction girl! ❤❤❤
That’s true, but Katara can’t understand what it’s like to come from a toxic family (like Zuko) and how that messes you up inside. She never had to endure abuse from her family members just for being kind, being banished from her home, or have half of her face burned by a family member the way that Zuko did. I’m not saying that makes what Zuko did in Ba Sing Se alright, what I mean is that Katara needs to understand the circumstances that Zuko had to go through. At least Toph can relate to Zuko since she also came from an unhealthy family situation, she can understand what it’s like to come from a messed up family unlike the other team members.
@@jmwilliamsart is that the Excuse to betray her confidence? Come on bro, You can’t blame her cause she haven’t seen Zuko’s redemption as we just did. As a human that she is, that would be a real reaction after a betrayal! I’m not saying that she doesn’t have to accept Zuko in the group.

I never understand why the audience/reactors always get upset at team avatar for not accepting Zuko. You have to understand. We have the audience perspective. Last time they saw zuko he helped get Aang killed. And Aang being forgiving/Trusting still was willing to let zuko in after he proved himself. Katara is also trusting but not very forgiving if you betray her trust. I can definitely see why she would not trust zuko. 😅 I wouldn't

9:54 Yeah, since Book 1 Zuko really only fought the gaang twice, and Toph wasn’t there for either of those. First was in The Chase when he showed up, and he was sort of fighting Aang but also fighting Azula. And by the time Toph got there he was fully fighting Azula. And then he helped fight against Aang and Katara in the catacombs in the season finale, while Toph was breaking herself, Sokka, and the Earth King out of prison and rescuing Bosco. So really, before this episode, Toph’s biggest impression of Zuko was probably from her conversation with Iroh.
I agree, I think that Toph can understand and relate to Zuko better than the other team members because she knows what it’s like to come from a controlling, toxic family is like. Plus her conversation with Iroh shed some light on Zuko. The other members don’t know what it’s like to have unhealthy, toxic family relationships, and how that can mess a person up inside.

It's really cool that you two are enjoying the animated series as much as I did when I was younger, and I'm looking forward to your reactions to the Netflix LA when that drops.
10:21 I actually mostly blame Toph for this mess. She snuck up on a sleeping firebender in the middle of the night, while he was camping alone in the woods. Of course Zuko’s first response should just be like, those fire daggers a lot of firebenders use, so he has a defense ready. But also, he was probably still half asleep and not thinking super clearly.
Toph probably didn’t know how dark it was or how bad it is to sneak up on someone like that. Remember she’s the one to hear Combustion Man in episode 5 while he’s very distant from them and while she was also dozing off. Toph is just insanely good, it’s a wonder she was even captured by those two earthbenders that forced her to learn to metal bend. She probably heard them breathing all the way from outside 😂😂
" Hello. Zuko here". Is Iconic. While it hurts seeing Zuko have such a hard time joining the Gaang, it is also very well written. Even if he was confused and Azula manipulated him back then he still made that choice and is now facing the consequences. It's realistic. Also Toph being the one to vouch for Zuko was a really good call by the writers. Not only is she the one who has the least bad experience (almost zero) with him but she is also from a rich family and could probably relate to him at some level. And finally, Katara warning Zuko is one of my Favorite moments . In a way she is expressing love and its so good. Because her feeling this way is completely valid. Katara trusted Zuko back then and almost used her spirit water, if she had used it Aang would've died, Avatar cycle would've ended, and Earth kingdom had fallen. So there would've been no one else that could stand against FN. Northern WT is still but theyre just one Tribe. World would've been done for. If anything I'm surprised she didn't immediately try to k*ll Zuko as soon as she saw him. Cause ngl if I was her I probably would hv 😬. Great reaction 😊. Happy Friday 😀
Even if Zuko hadn’t turned the outcome wouldn’t have been any different. Azula and the Fire Nation had already infiltrated BaSing Se and she already learned about their invasion plans. Because Azula learned about the invasion it wouldn’t have succeeded even if Ba Sing Se had not fallen to the Fire Nation.
Zuko here!! Lol we love that scene so much 🥹 love the relationship between Toph and Zuko too - definitely see the similarities there! LOL we also loved how Katara was being a hard ass to Zuko and being sus about whether she could trust him again. Idk if she ever will... but I don't blame her! We'll see what happens :) Happy Friday, fam! 🤩
@jmwilliamsart I disagree, and here are the reasons why: 1st of all, the firenation did not infiltrate Ba Sing Se. Only Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee did. HUGE Difference. 2nd, while it's true, Azula had learned of the Day of Black Sun invasion plan. That's not the point I'm making. I'm saying Aang would've died. Aang, the Avatar who's the only one who can bring balance to the world, dies in Avatar state, and there will be no Next Avatar. Like Hakoda said, Avatar is hope. Aang dying is the worst outcome there is. And the thing is if Zuko had Joined the Gaang, Azula would've most likely be imprisoned and could not inform the Firelord about The Invasion plan. Let me explain how Zukos decision mattered in the Takeover of Ba Sing Se: If Zuko had chosen to join the Gaang they would've won against Azula. She was having a tough against Aang and Katara and with Zuko joining, she would've definitely lost. And the Dai li would crumble because theyre just super soldiers but they always NEED a strong leader to guide them. With Long Feng already imprisoned and Azula losing theyd have to Listen and surrender to the Gaang now. Because that's how they are. After that the Gaang would free the Council of Five (the army Generals of Earth Kingdom that were captured earlier by the Dai Li) and they would most likely put all of the members of Dai li in prison along side Long Feng and Azula. And if u say Mai and Ty lee would help, they wouldn't. Mai literally helped Zuko in Boiling Rock and Ty lee helped Mai so why would they be different now . Why would they try to help Azula who basically orders them around with fear? Nah, things would be VASTLY different if Zuko had joined. We'd Hv Zuko and Iroh on our Side (which means Aang would have a Firebending teacher and would learn Lightning redirection to use against Ozai ), Azula imprisoned, Ba Sing Se citizens safe, The Earth Kingdom Army which can be a huge amount of numbers (for the invasion), Council of Five, The element of Surprise in the Invasion Plan. Book 2 ending would've been the Biggest W instead of the Biggest L.
@@jmwilliamsart Completely false. Zuko would have freed Iroh and we would have had Zuko AND Iroh helping Katara and Aang fight the Dai Li and Azula. Remember Iroh freed himself somehow and that means Zuko could’ve freed him with fire a lot faster. And if that wasn’t enough, Toph would have joined some time later because she would probably hear a full on battle going on underground. 😂
i’m really loving your guys reactions to this show! not sure if you have ever mentioned korra before but i would love to see you guys go through that series as well 🩵
2:00 Yes Aang would have lived here until a certain age. Here and the eastern airtemple. The Air nomads migrated between two temples. The men between the northern and southern and the women and the young children between the western and eastern.
Wait a second Iroh just said the Avatar hasn’t been seen in 100 years. Zuko was banished when he was 13 that means the 100 year War actually has been going on for 103 1/2 almost 104 years.
I looked this up some time ago. Earlier in life the assassin accidently blew off his leg and arm because he can be a little reckless. Here the smart move was to retreat and heal. But, he kills himself accidently. I think Ozai or Azula superseded Zuko's employment. They want Aang dead no matter what, and Zuko is a enemy of the state. I love the Katara promise to Zuko. It was as close as Nickelodeon would allow to, "I will fu#ing kill you if you step out of line." But, in a way it's good for Zuko. He's never seen anyone willing to go this far for a companion. His mother and Uncle Iroh are blood relatives, so that's to be expected of them. Aang's friends are willing to kill or die for him-and he for them. He knows he's making the right decisions now. This is true honor. This is true loyalty.
Interesting part about the whole pirate thing.. is that it was actually Katara's fault they were attacked by pirates, since she's the one who stole from them. And also dee was right, zuko wasn't actually there for some of the things that happened to them.
12:52 I think it’s personal for him now, since they’ve managed to escape him twice and they (sort of, unintentionally) incapacitated him when I think it was Toph bent a huge rock to block his shot, and a piece of that rock flew back and hit him in his third eye.
At first i was annoyed about sad moments being interrupted because Dee had a tendency to disturb it when it got sad. But then in later episodes i realised you likely just werent comfortable with crying or being seen crying. My bestie had a super controlling mother and her family didnt have any space for her to show her emotions like that because she would get shut down and she is only now at 27 learning to allow crying. I have no idea if such a thing is the case for you but i already considered the possibility and hearing you say now that you have trouble with being seen to be crying makes me feel guilty for being annoyed about it in the past. I think its super healthy though to learn to allow yourself to give in to that.
Katara’s delivery of her speech to Zuko was very much needed. She’s not one of my favorites but Katara really executed her character very well here. She’s the most caring of the group so much so that if you mess with her loved ones she won’t hesitate to show what she’ll do to do that.
My only complaint with the next few episodes is that while Haru, Duke, & Teo join the Gaang, they don't do much in them. Now, in a couple of the Avatar comics we see the Gaang spend more time in this Air Temple & they do more, but it still feels like a wasted opportunity within the show itself.
They had a limited amount of episodes (21) so there's no way they were gonna waste screentime on them. I get what u mean but nah I don't think it was wasted opportunity.
Hey Meesh and Dee "Happy Friday". This is a great episode. I completely understand Aang, Katara and Sokka position on not trusting Zuko. Like betrayed their trust so I get it. But I like how we got Toph who never had any interaction with Zuko know he's telling the truth that he has change. Zuko was hilarious in this episode. Him talking to the animal as he tries to come up with a plan to approach Aang group was funny. The "Hello Zuko here" line gets me everytime. I just recently saw a UA-cam video of the voice actor Dante Basco saying that line. The ending of the episode was intense as Katara put Zuko on notice if he ever tries to betrayed Aang again. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing. ua-cam.com/users/shortsSlwPRk2ppBY?si=TDhrDpoxUhTpgBJs

Sorry this might be too late for you to read it, but when you asked if avatar Yangchen is from the western air temple, the air temples segregated genders so all women were trained and raised at the western.
The problem I have is that Aang and the other members of the gang (apart from Toph) weren’t thinking clearly when they first rejected Zuko. If not Zuko then did they have anyone else in mind to teach Aang fire bending? They didn’t have to trust him immediately but they need to give him a chance. At least Toph can relate to Zuko because she knows what it’s like to have a messed up (toxic) family, and to feel conflicted inside. Part of me wishes I could ask Katara and the other members if they have ever had to endure abuse from family members, to be banished from their home, or to have half of their face burned just for showing empathy and compassion. Of course it doesn’t excuse Zuko’s actions in Ba Sing Se, but they need to understand where he was coming from, and what he went through.
How was Aang and the gang(excluding Toph) supposed to understand where Zuko was coming from? We can say that because us as the viewers have seen everything that has happened to Zuko but Aang and the others haven’t so yes from their POV the way they reacted to Zuko was completely fair and they had no reason to trust him enough to give him a chance. Side note: so what I’ve always thought that could’ve been a possibility is if Zuko failed(which thankfully he did succeed and we got an amazing redemption arc) to convince the gang to become Aang’s firebending master was that maybe the gang would’ve tried to look for Iroh considering they’re on good terms with him and he’s a firebending master to train Aang instead.

We'll see what happens :)
Happy Friday, fam! 🤩
@jmwilliamsart
I disagree, and here are the reasons why:
1st of all, the firenation did not infiltrate Ba Sing Se.
Let me explain how Zukos decision mattered in the Takeover of Ba Sing Se:
If Zuko had chosen to join the Gaang they would've won against Azula.
I love the speed of which y’all are releasing these reactions👍🏾
We're doing our best to stay on track before the live-action debuts :) thanks for watching with us!
I LOVE Zuko's redemption arc. It adds so much that he failed so many times.
Katara’s speech is my favorite scene! She knows Zuko’s is being genuine, but Zuko already let Azula kill Aang once.
i’m really loving your guys reactions to this show! not sure if you have ever mentioned korra before but i would love to see you guys go through that series as well 🩵
Thanks so much! LOK is next on our list 😉🫶🏼
@@MeeshDeeReactsawesome!! i can’t wait 🌊
2:00 Yes Aang would have lived here until a certain age. Here and the eastern airtemple. The Air nomads migrated between two temples. The men between the northern and southern and the women and the young children between the western and eastern.
I would suggest bringing tissues from here on out 😭😭😭😭 #tearbending
Wait a second Iroh just said the Avatar hasn’t been seen in 100 years. Zuko was banished when he was 13 that means the 100 year War actually has been going on for 103 1/2 almost 104 years.
Or maybe when someone says 100 years it's possible they don't mean that exactly.
Well actually it’s 97 years at the time 3 years prior to aang being freed from the iceberg and they can’t exactly say the right amount
Appreciate you letting the emotions come out! We're all with you. ❤
Finally Zuko's on the right side!!!
The scar’s NOT on the wrong side!!!!
Oh wait you said something else.
@@redfieldwong717 🤣🤣🤣
Amen!! 🥹🙏🏽 the moment we’ve been waiting for!
dante mafucking basco
his lines hit different
I saw in a video they planned to make zuko his firebending teacher
Also if Zuko doesn't pay him I'm sure someone else would.
Kombustionman did not listen to Zuko because at this point it is personal to him.
I JUST SCREAMED WHEN I SAW DEE IN MERCEDES MERCH

Yessss you already know!! LH 🐐🔥
So sad he’s moving to Ferrari too 😭😭 but will support wherever he goes 🙏🏽
Sokka's first kill
Katara’s delivery of her speech to Zuko was very much needed. She’s not one of my favorites but Katara really executed her character very well here. She’s the most caring of the group so much so that if you mess with her loved ones she won’t hesitate to show what she’ll do to do that.
I cry too much at this show I feel y’all
🥹🫶🏼
My only complaint with the next few episodes is that while Haru, Duke, & Teo join the Gaang, they don't do much in them. Now, in a couple of the Avatar comics we see the Gaang spend more time in this Air Temple & they do more, but it still feels like a wasted opportunity within the show itself.
They had a limited amount of episodes (21) so there's no way they were gonna waste screentime on them. I get what u mean but nah I don't think it was wasted opportunity.
2:30 Again all female airnomads migrated between the western and eastern Airtemples

Happy Friday, Rob! Have a blessed day 😀
@@MeeshDeeReacts You're welcome and thank you. Yes this a great episode. Zuko has come a long way. I remember watching this show for the first time. I didn't expect he would end up being my favorite character. That's awesome about you and Dante 😁

Keep up the good work y’all
Thanks fam! 💜
I think I’m Book 2 of Korra they got some people from Japan who understand Japanese Animation really well so in Book 2 of Korra you will notice that the animation is a lot better.
Hey Dee where did you get that Petronas shirt?
Hi! Meesh got it as a gift for me from the Mercedes AMG Petronas store online 🤩🙏🏽 one of my fav crew necks!
-D
Sorry this might be too late for you to read it, but when you asked if avatar Yangchen is from the western air temple, the air temples segregated genders so all women were trained and raised at the western.
Tears are good for clicks, man. :D
Side note: so what I’ve always thought that could’ve been a possibility is if Zuko failed(which thankfully he did succeed and we got an amazing redemption arc) to convince the gang to become Aang’s firebending master was that maybe the gang would’ve tried to look for Iroh considering they’re on good terms with him and he’s a firebending master to train Aang instead.
katara doesnt give a fuck if zuko was abused or not. Doesnt change the fact that he tried to kill them for 3 seasons and literally betrayed her and played lart in her best friends death
Zuko would wash her nobody is scared of her
me when i lie
Lol wut, i love zuko but katara at this point would absolutely murder him
