- In this week's episode we re-flash the Race Dynamics Powertronic, piggy back ECU with a custom map sent to us by Race Dynamics to help the bike run richer with the pod filters. it's a step by step how to on the install then a test ride of the new map!

On my 2016 Classic, I've installed the Powertronic, the 19 tooth sprocket, BPR6EIX spark plug, K&N filter (not the pod though) and (because I don't like Cat Converters, have drilled a half inch hole through mine). I'm running map 2 and what a difference!
I'm a fat bugger but the speed drop going up a steep hill was only from 120 kph to 115 kph..... Whereas before, she was gasping at that speed, it's now effortless.
Cruising at 100 kph and accelerating to pass traffic is an absolute pleasure.

Race Dynamics really do a good service, I installed my piggy back over the weekend and noted that the replacement relays had pins missing and as it turned out, the engine would cut out as soon I put it in gear so I left the original relays in. I dropped them a mail informing them about it and within a few hours I got reply that they were sending me new relays as Royal Enfield tends to change relays now and again. So far the bike seems to run the best on map 1 (K&S airfilter and AEW shortbottle), map 2 doesn't make that much of a difference and feels a bit rough, but I haven't replaced the sparkplug and cap yet, so I'll put in the same combo as yours and then test map 2 again. Thanks for all the videos, I'm planning to upgrade the front sprocket to a 19 by next oil change and install the Carberry vibration plate. I'm doing some vids on Badger on my channel, so if I happen to do the vibration plate before you do, come check it out :)
Yeah they have amazing and comprehensive service for sure which is awesome. By the sounds of it Powertronics deserve a good wrap 4 the after care given (hard to get replies from some manufactures).

OK, the last time I saw you run Dug with this, you had it on Map 2. it seemed to run ok.. but to customize the mapping you have to plug in Map 1, then download the custom map? I guess I'm a little confused. When you hit "Burn" does that make it permanent?
Not confused mate! Your dead on. I had it on map 2, changed to pod filters ran slightly lean at high end, kept map 2 on the ECU cause it worked and swapped map 1 for the custom as map 1 for stock bikes, now runs sweet as! Burn makes it permanent! Lock and burn is very permanent!!

Mate, that was excellent and has inspired me to buy another bullet to keep the interceptor company. Question, would there be an advantage in gearing up slightly now to get better fuel consumption?

Cheers mate! See the two vids, although I never have any interest in gaining economy on a motorcycle as they use so little fuel, I did it for ride-ability! But the c5 responds really well to +1t on the front
Loving the videos iridetas, I have just fitted the power tronics to my classc 500 pegasus but had a problem when the bike was put into gear the engine cuts out when using the new relays that come with the power tronics, but when I but the original relays back in the bike doesn't cut out when put in gear??? Spoke to a representative at power tronics and they are sending me some more
relays. Can't fault them for excellent customer care I just hope it solves the issue
I find there customer service excellent, hopefully the new relays work for you. The unit itself works really well and I'm quite impressed with it's capabilities! Hope you love it too! Cheers
Had the same problem, I have a Pegasus as well, Its due to the number of pins on the relays, just contact Powertronic and they will send you new relays for free

Have you test ridden the 650? What's your take on the 650 with respect to your 500 retro wise
No I haven't. I would say it would be more like my triumph 865 than my classic 500!
Great vid Tas!!. Really interesting!. Out of interest what is the fastest speed Doug has recorded so far and what is your top hi way cruising speed compared to when Doug was all standard?.
Thanks, The highway performance was going to be next week's video! But it will hit 140 given enough room and will easily cruise at 110/120 much lower in the rev range with out sounding like it's been beaten! Not faster but much nicer cruising compared to stock!

With all the new power in all the different points in the rev range, how are you finding brake response? Any changes?
Nope brakes are fine but i did swap for a braided front hose for better feel!
Hi bro I have a great modification idea for you that is when you are going to replace the piston and it's rings then do to convert it to 535 cc I think it will add atleast a second time difference in 0-60 acceleration.
I tend to swap mapping on my truck and it always sketches me out in case something goes wrong lol.

It's a good question I believe using the save as option in the file nav bar link you can but I will need to have a play to confirm that. Cheers

Love the look of these bikes but they are just so slow it put me off, RE should lot the 650 twin in these bikes
Yeah, no RE imo is about speed. Even the 650 in no way is a quick bike. The singles are about the nostalgia. Great bikes!
@@iRidetas i ride a bandit 1200 but the single bullets looks like more fun to me then the 650 interceptor.
The 500 has more character for sure! Imo
