So hot here in Kentucky. We had 90 degree weather almost a week straight. Heat index was 115 one day. Hard to get in the stand hangin mood. Bucks still in velvet and bugs are really bad right now. Not sure if I want a green tomato buck... Soybeans are starting to turn. Summer patterns getting ready to flip a switch. Some areas have an abundance of acorns but they typically don't fall till Oct/Nov. Deer will be switching from protein food source to carb food sources when velvet comes off and fawns ween to store winter fat.

Just got back from setting up my lean on and checking my camera's....
Hey I'm new to hunting and I have a 15 acre bush I have permission to hunt what are some tips
Tell me about the 15 acres of bush. Does it have any water or bedding areas. Is there a small clearing for a possible food plot if you have permission to start one? If it's a travel zone between bedding and water or bedding and food?
@@parkerolson5713 ok so it has a small canal going through but it is mostly dry, there is a spot I could put a good plot but the thing is that the are quite a few coyoties in there so I'm guessing there's very little deer
@@sacredtoad2117 can you hunt the coyotes? Roadkill +trail camera for scouting and trap them or call and shoot? If you have lots of coyotes you will have deer. I'd set up on Does movement between food and bedding and wait for the Bucks to follow.
@@sacredtoad2117 I'd probably switch to a neck shot within 50yard because if I miss it is a smaller target and there is less of a chance to wounding the animal however if I don't miss there is no tracking required and no chance of the coyotes getting the meat before you do. Yes it does ruin the neck roast. You do you though.
