- This Tree skirt can go together in one afternoon, it is all in the cutting and organizing. You will need 6 Fat Quarters and a 10° ruler, and it can be a table topper too :)
The ruler you can get at most Sewing and Quilt shop, but if you can not find it there you can get it here.

Hope these links help :) Thank you, Laura
If you alternate the layers, face up-face down, they'll already be ready to sew...This is a really lovely quick and easy tree skirt. Love your videos...
I appreciate your attention to detail in the stacking, cutting, etc. It makes for less frustration in sewing and a flatter and even final product!
Love this round tree skirt idea. But your suggestion for a table topper is a great idea and I do have a round dining table.
Rita Holverson Hello how are you doing? Am Kershaw by name nice to meet you hope we can be friends?
Where do you buy this wonderful ruler?
Thank you so much for making this video! I have just completed mine tonight and I am over the moon! It was so much easier and quicker than I expected. Being a beginner it really made me happy to see it all come together ❤ thank you!
Thank you for your great instructions Laura! I happened to find the SewEasy 10 degree laser cut at my local shop which made everything come together so well.
you do an excellent job of explaining each step - thank you!
Amazing to see how 6 fat quarters can yield such a lovely Christmas tree skirt. Simple and sweet, just what I need for my tree this year. Thanks for sharing this tutorial. Can’t wait to get started.
This is so pretty
Thanks for posting this project! I would love to make a tree skirt & now I feel encouraged to do so!!
Just what I needed! Thank you so much for all your awesome videos. We appreciate all you do for us!
So pretty!! Thank you for another great tutorial.
I have collected many handmade tree skirts from thrift stores. It's hard to choose which skirt I will use each year so now I have 3 trees put up and I match the skirt to the theme of that tree.
KATHLEEN MACDONALD Hello how are you doing? Am Kershaw by name nice to meet you hope we can be friends?
Thanks for sharing I never thought to sew the tree skirt as one piece very good idea 💡 Merry Christmas 🎄
What a beautiful project, Laura. Thanks for sharing
Great work
I impressed too much
Love your videos, I have a small ruler like that, I'm going to do a small one for a candle, thank you for your videos
Beautiful, as all your tutorials. I plan on doing this. Looks very easy!
Beautiful Laura. Another great job. Please make a Christmas stocking for a child.
Your clear explanation and demonstration are very appreciated. Great job. Thanks!
Все понятно и интересно. Очень красивые ткани. Merry Christmas!
love this! do you use batting and then a backing i assume? by the way, love your husband Ivo. my husband bob and I met him while we were in niagara falls a few years ago.
Such a beautiful tree skirt or table cover, I love your choice of fabrics.
I like this project, Laura but I would like to try it another way: Instead of doing it on my sewing machine with right-sides-together do it on my serger sewing the wedges wrong-sides-together with variegated thread in the loopers so the decorative thread seams show on the top (then stitch-in-the-ditch with my regular sewing machine for the quilting and finish the bottom with a serger again with the decorative thread. 🧵 😘👍
I think that's a great idea you could also add the backing at the same time. Very similar to the way I did a denim quilt here ua-cam.com/video/gD4gdtgVVNc/v-deo.html let me know if you do and I'd love to see a picture you can post it on my Facebook
This is so great!! Thank you.
thank you so much for the video and for giving a Canadian source for the ruler! :)
Thank you, Laura! I have just the right group of fat quarters ready to go! Merry Christmas!!!!
Hi, can you tell me the measurements of your wedge? I’m not able to afford one at this time & I’d like to draw one to make your tree skirt. Thank you. I love your stuff, keeps me going during these rough times and days to come.
Wonderful tutorial. Thank you.
That is so pretty! I will have to make that for my two sons and their family as a Christmas keepsake. ❤️❤️
Susan H Hello how are you doing? Am Kershaw by name nice to meet you hope we can be friends?
Excellent tutorial, as always
7/19/2021. Trying to get a head start this year.
I don't have a 10 degree ruler. I want to make a template out of paper. What would be the measurements? Thank you. I'm very excited to make this.
Gorgeous fabrics ...love it 😘💐
Another great project and tutorial Laura!
I love your channel.
Really cute
This is sweet, and I had a thought, you could also make a garment skirt in the same manner just having a larger opening in the center. Very Beautiful. Thank you.

Hi Laura, I am a beginner sewer and love your tree skirt! I want to make a tree skirt and the size that I need to figure out how to do this is, my measurements are 32" from the front of the tree to the end of my tree and it should be 64" in diameter overall. my ruler is a 10" ruler. How can I make this skirt?
Beautiful
Very nice thank you
Do you have directions on how to make the backing for the fat quarter tree skirt and how much fabric is needed
You don't put a backing on this at all? So your seams are all exposed on the back side? But then why the binding?
Do you recommend putting a backing on this and batting? If so do you have a video on that?
I love u and ur vdos .👌
Lovely
Just put together this tree skirt. Love it. Where can I find instructions for finishing it? Thank you!
I do not have one. I just quilted it in the ditch:)
When you sew the wedges together, do you use a 1/2 inch seam or a 1/4 inch seam?
1/4"
Super❤❤
Do you have a video on sewing bias binding strips together
So creative.. you definitely have an eye for materials & patterns that balance.
Have a wonderful Christmas
I love this! THe fabric is beautiful. Is it any particular bundle?
It was part of the Holiday fabric by Timeless treasures
Hello how are you doing? Am Kershaw by name nice to meet you hope we can be friends?
Question. So is the outside edges of the circle all raw edges non stitched ?
So, what do you do for the backing? Do the same in a solid? I'd need to be able to open mine, as my cats lie on tree skirts.... I actually gave up, and just use a festive sherpa blanket clipped in the back, which they love.
The back is one solid piece of white muslin.
@@SewVeryEasy Thank you!
Don't the seams prevent it from lying flat? The angles of the finished piece are now less than the 10' you started with and the total will be quite a bit less than 360'
If this happens, you can use your steam iron to press it flat.
Wonderful. Where do we get the ruler
Hi where can I get the rules tq
Do you think it’s possible to add a border around the outer circle to make it bigger? I love this but would like a bigger tree skirt. Any advice is helpful. Thanks!
you could just make the wedges longer :)
I’m new at this, so what size ruler do I need if I want to make 18 wedges instead of 36? Thank you.
20 degrees I think. 360 degrees in a circle, divide by 18 gives you 20 degrees
@@susanpitt5000 Thank you!! I really enjoyed your video.
Some of the sections with the reindeer and words ended upside down. Pretty though.
Much much fabric required to make the bias binding
You could buy a ready made bias binding in a coordinating colour?
What is the finished size of this tree skirt? Thank you
She says near the end of the video that it is approximately 41 inches.
Precioso
no backing ??? even mine has a backing and I am not a quilter by any stretch
She has another video where she binds it and shows how she quilted it. She had a backing there.
ua-cam.com/video/IU1ex_qW8B0/v-deo.html
How did you hem the interior circle?
There's a video coming out December 19th that is going to cover the outside and the inside binding. Stay tuned 😊
@@SewVeryEasy will that include how to do the backing? no mention other than how elaborate or not, you can quilt it was mentioned. Hope so- thanks!
Yes I will show you how it's been quilted and the binding. I'll post a picture on my Facebook.
where is the pattern at?
Beth Timms you don’t need a pattern you just need the ruler 😊
I was just kicking myself for cutting open a table cloth to make a tree skirt. Now I cant use it for a table cloth. Stand, skirt, then tree.....No more egg nog while putting the tree together. No more open tree skirts.
I would love these videos even more if you could position your camera over your shoulder so that we viewers can see the fabric/project from your point of view and not have to rotate everything we see. Just a suggestion.
As much as I would like to do this I am not able to. As I am the cameraman and if I can't see the screen I can't film. lol I do try to position the fabric so that it looks like you are facing it and it's what it would look like from your point of view. So for me I'm looking at it backwards. I do appreciate your suggestion and we'll keep it in mind for the future 👍
@@SewVeryEasy Nonetheless, you do a great job on the tutorials.
