Definitely the lighthouse. For years I have had a picture in my mind of the style of photography I wished to develop, and then I stumbled across this video; it’s like I’ve come home. Thanks for the images mate. They are extraordinarily beautiful .
"I've never been so precariously placed taking photos". Made me chuckle. That's exactly what I thought when I took a similar shot there last year. That and "what the hell are you doing, you're a 48 year old man scrambling over rocks for a bloody photograph". Great video and shots as always.
Long exposure shots like these are what made me fall in love with photography.. it’s been years since I tried a long exposure shot. Watching this video ignited that love again. Thank you sir.
Great video, like the horizon left in the photograph and much prefer the colour to the b&w, green really pops, who was the handsome bloke standing among the wave breakers lol, thank you for sharing Gary ,
Great video Gary. Loved the images, my fave was the lighthouse at 12:06 - the soft colours. I really got a sense of scale of the size of the breakwaters when you were walking amongst them, I didn't think they were that big. Nice perspective of them as well. As long as you are safe!!! Talk to Adam Gibbs about wellies.
Adam Gibbs advocated some wellies with Vibram soles, same as walking boots, but I have some walking boots with Vibram soles and they can be quite slippy too. Minimalist vs Fine Art? Labels with no hard and fast meanings in my book. Thanks for sharing Gary, good to see you out and about again.
Minimalistic as you say is a very fine line from fine art, liked the shot of the lighthouse but my preference was the breakers, keep up the good work as I'm loving your video's 😊
Loving these long exposure shots Gary. I live by the sea and can't spend too long away from it and in my humble opinion these type of images you have produced recently are my favourite of yours. I personally think minimalistic and fine art are perfect bedfellows.
Excellent video Gary, never been to photograph there but quite often fancied a trip as we have a workshop in Wallasey, so could combine work and photography. In relation to non slippy wellies, I was a fly fisher and you can get thigh waders and then a pair of wader boots with studs, non slippy even on the green stuff. All the very best and thanks for another informative and interesting vlog, appreciated.

Whether there's a horizon or no... Minimalism and fine art - are intrinsically linked. I think minimalism, aesthetically - is much easier to define and depict - than 'fine art'... Hence, this leads me to my thought on 'fine art'... and that is ~ 'how refined that art is'... !? Food for thought... Thanks Gary... :)
Great video my sister live in Wallasey New Brighton got new members in my camera club watching your video Best wishes paul Moore South Liverpool Photographer Society 📷👍
I have been up at new Brighton lighthouse lol with a friend and this video has helped a lot in are photos thank you Gary for sharing. Look forward to more of your work
Hello Gary, great video showing your commitment to get "that" shot. It would be rude to choose a favourite shot as they are all awesome. Thanks for sharing and remember to stay safe 😷
Nice Gary - top marks for your bravery. All great shots. I actually really like the colour shot of the breakwater barrier going off into infinity.. I think you took this at the start when you were precariously balanced on the breakwater...very good...
Dear Gerry, What insanely beautiful pictures. For you, it is only a 30-minute journey to the location where you took these photos. Much longer for me from the east of the Netherlands. But it does inspire me to apply this technique, vision and view on a somewhat smaller level. Thanks for your video.
Hi Gary, I finally became a member . Took me a while. Will you do more post processing vids for your members? I know you can teach me and others so much more about the cleaning techniques, lighting the image, drawing a viewer into the picture etc Would love to hear from you Regards, Marcel
Hi Gary, one word.....Awesome photos!! Right down my alley, have always loved long exposure and now getting into photographing it. Great videos, thank you for the simplicity
Great video Gary and stunning images, my son lives just across from the lighthouse and we have been many times but your photos will make us see them a little bit different from now on. Keep up the great work and be safe.
Wow, what awesome images, just love this Minimalist photography. Apart from the lighthouse at 12.06, I tend to like your image at 13.00. Very hard to pick a favourite, love your work and appreciate you sharing your knowledge
Hi Gary, a few weeks ago I "found" you're channel here. In the mean time I already watched many posts of you and just like always this one is again very learnfull and inspiring! Thanks a lot for this one, next week we going on holidays at the sea and I'll keep this video in my mind ;-). One note as you asked, I prefer more your "old" style of video posts. But again, many thanks! Looking forward to your next video.
I really love the minimalist photos .. i have tried several times to capture in camera what i see in my mind but so far i have not achieved what i wanted .. getting closer though so will keep at it. Videos like this really help when learning a new skill. Thank you
Well done. No, very well done! Enjoyed the video and enjoyed the images more. Great work! Thanks also for the interviews you've been doing on your channel. Cheers from Texas!
Lovely images, I’d love to see a video of your post processing of these images. I appreciate a lot of people are far more advanced than I am in photoshop and might find it boring but it is those little tweaks you do that take these type of images to the higher level and I’d love to learn how to do it.
Oh good lord....I just shot the same location last weekend ( I'm not following you ,honest 😅) I adore those sea defences ,so many opportunities . Fabulous images Gary ,loving your Minimal 👍👍
Ambiguity can be such a useful thing to have in photography. Audience interpretation really furthers the discussion of photos I believe. Nice video Gary!
Since May I have my own new camera. Since then I haven't been watching any video's but.... At least I should keep watching yours Gary. Loved every second of this one! Great pictures as always and your music chose is sublime ❤️
Another good watch this week, I am never really convinced with the wording although there must be some truth that it is indeed fine art rather than good photography! and the knowledge how to do things differently and you certainly know how to do that! I have never been to where you shot these pictures so thank you for taking us there!
Great vlog, and brilliant images. I can't pick a favourite as I like them all equally. I prefer your ususal style of vlog (no voiceover after the event) as the passion, emotion and excitement that your feeeling as you shoot really comes through.Fine art or minimalist - doesn't matter, just wonderful images to look at, and for me that's what counts.
I had to do a voicover, I didn't have enough talky bits for the video. You'd think I would have nailed it by now lol Thanks for saying though, appreciate it
Wow, the master of long exposure! brilliant as always Gary, would love you to slow down that editing process. Mrs G will be really upset if you destroy another drone.
The concrete breakwaters looked more appealing to me before you did the monochrome conversion. In a rather colourless scene, even very muted colours magnetically drew my eye. I'm a big fan of simplistic monochrome but this was an exception that proved the rule. An entertaining, interesting and inspirational Vlog. Many thanks.
Engaging and entertaining as always Gary. Love the way you are so clear about what you want before make the shot - such an underappreciated competence, borne of years of experience I guess.
Wow, impressive ... some of your finest work in my opinion ... can't wait to get up the Wirral myself. I see you took your twin brother with you then ... lol
Great video Gary. Planning to go there myself in the next few days so plenty of inspiration. Love the image of the wave breaks, difficult position to shoot but the end result speaks for itself 👍📸
If you're after wellies with grip Gary then you need to buy some Hoggs Field Sport Neoprene wellies, they have a walking boot sole and are insulated, you will pay around £75 but worth every penny. Great minamalist shots too.
Great images Gary, shot the lighthouse many times I only live 10 minutes away. Need to be careful on those groyne’s a couple of lads had to be rescued by the RNLI back in July after they were cut off by the tide

Gary, get some wellies with studs on the bottom they help a lot. You can also buy studs to put on existing wellies (they look like little screws).
Studs for wellies? I paid £90 for my Muck boots. You'd think they would have better soles. I'll look them up. Cheers
Wonderful Photos and drone shots! AND excellent choice for your musical soundtrack! Naming the composer(s) give them better exposure, don't you know.
