Very nice winter camping trip, the snow dog is a great machine to get all the gear over to your camp in one trip! Have a great new year of fun, & enjoyment!
Being a denizen of the Boreal Forest I envy you that seasoned maple for your stove. For a more remote trip you could try Temigami Ontario. Just more blacktop travel time and deeper snow . There are many groomed snowmobile trails that travel far into the bush. It would mean planning which is also a fun part of the exercise.
Interesting to see how The Dog handled rocks. Do you ever think about a double wall for your hot tent-for more insulation or to help with dew (in warmer weather)? Absolutely gorgeous country you’ve got. Jules
After market... I glued strips of Velcro to the tent and vinyl, although I had to add staples to the Velcro on the vinyl to keep it from peeling off. It's a "cob" job but serves me well. Others have done a better job of it.
IMO yes it's comfortable, warm, and dry. I have a clear vinyl door I can put up so we can see out. We sleep on Synmat 7 mattresses which convert into chairs as well. There is nothing more enjoyable than listening to a good audible book and having a nice bourbon: ua-cam.com/video/WaI_8EyS4_4/v-deo.html

I've never considered adding a double wall but thinking about it now when I do put up the snow-fly it acts like a double wall.

Hey Kelly i meant to ask you, did you have the clear plastic door installed by Duane, or was this an aftermarket install? Thanks.
