- My students are only 5 years old and I've taught them since they were 3 and they have NEVER heard me speak Chinese before! So today I thought it would be fun to see how they react!

真心希望教育部的官員能看到此影片，
當初阻止學生早點學英文的某些官員，
阻止臺灣成為雙語國家，真該打屁股；

台灣現在國小的雙語教育是有問題的，尤其是師資，但像這樣有能力的家長讓小孩早點學英文是對的，因為可以遇到合格的師資
所以請支持「台灣雙語無法黨」，它是一個致力推行雙語進國民小學的政黨。
讓台灣的基礎師資和教材能跟上。
不是不行成為雙語國家 而是師資教育方式不允許，政府根本沒有擬定好對策 就丟下去給國小國中老師處理，那些老師也不知道怎麼辦 變成只能應付。你去問雙北老師們就知道現在慘況
照你這邏輯全世界嬰兒都在學中文了
前面三位講得好像有道理，但他們已學三年，根本不是國民小學。
第四個分明是對岸來搞笑的。除了英語之外，全世界第二多人講的外語是西班牙語，不是華語。

Thats what I tell myself when my daughters seem to have forgotten key moments of their childhood. I'm sure its true and the right way of looking at things.

I am also a teacher (in high school), so I understand the importance of establishing a good rapport with students. I was impressed by the children's English proficiency in a casual conversation. It is clear that the parents have put a lot of effort into their children's education, but your dedication to your job is undeniable. As you mentioned at the end of the video, the children will grow up and move on, but they will never forget you and your teaching because you are a great teacher!
I taught high school for a bit and I found it way more difficult to improve their English. They're old enough to have lost their natural ability to pick up another language. So I can't take all the credit, the kids were so young when I started teaching them that they kind of naturally picked it up

Don’t feel sad! You won’t be forgotten! I can promise you since I am the proof! I am now 25 and still remember my kindergarten teacher who called Daniel that also come from Canada. Although I don’t know his full name and never met him since I grow up, I always remember him. Also, when I clean my house, I just find out that I still keep the book as a gift that I received from him with his words and signature. So~!!! The time you spent definitely worth it!

I worked for that sort of full English cram school for nearly a year. I was impressed by their abilities when I met them first time, they speak better than many Taiwanese high school students I have to say
9:00 it's so true, they'll forget you, or at most barely remember you. Such is life, the future is theirs.

I had the opposite surprise back in Canadian high school. In grade 10 French our teacher insisted on a French only class. When he finally spoke English to us after about eight months, we were all astounded at his very Scottish accent.

Prozzie, I'm a teacher too and I have a ponytail that I slick back with gel and tie with a rubber band. You speaking Mandarin to your kids is like me going to school with my hair down "au naturel."

They get to speak English all day at school. So it's ok if they go home and use Chinese. It's their native language and must also be practiced

You’re a good teacher and the kids are very cute! I think they’re more likely to remember you because they play with you and you favor interacting with them over adults. Also since you’re still invited to see them they will build longer memory over time

I think it has to do with the intonation 聲調 of Chinese and where people picked up the first language; but both of you are just fine in daily communication I guess!

I moved to China 5 years ago to teach older kids in high school and University, but I also feel this loss for many of them who have moved on in their lives, many of them were such great kids!
