I really want Gil to talk about Hydlide at some point. I can only imagine how hilarious that would be. I think Virtual Hydlide would've been a good choice for this particular topic
Contra Rouge Corps is a fairly long game too but it gets way to hard for most players on single player even if your good at Twinstick shooters and some levels have to be beaten in single player to unlock major boss levels yet said stages are no easier than ones you can have 4 players in. Not like you will ever find any randoms to play the game online with on any platform since no cross play and terrible match making you see in games from early 2000s. Yet game was made by the team who made Happy Wars a online focused game.
If you ever do a part 2, there was actually a weird Centipede game on the 3DS and Wii that was..... interesting. I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head though. Infestation or something like that. Had the usual "gritty" story and crap, different characters, different guns. I remember it being fun, but I also haven't bothered playing it again for about 4 years, so probably a reason for that. lol
Honestly had no idea they made another Bubsy game after the reboot, and it was so surreal seeing all those characters from the failed cartoon pilot. Like, who actually wanted to those guys again?
I think bubsy would do best these days as the scorned now villain/anti-hero with a mascot that was one of the ones bigger than him at the time. Like a minor boss or quick plot point in a 3d sonic or something, haha.
Well, considering Clover Studios, the company that made Devil May Cry, had left Capcom to form Platinum Games, it did put Capcom in a bind when it came to that series, but... Yeah, doesn't change the fact the kind of reboot it was was heavily panned, and for good reason.
Good point. but honestly DMC is kinda weird. The story and characters are trash, but the gameplay itself is actually shockingly good. The level design is also really clever and interesting. So it's a wierd enigma of a game.

@@NotoriousFoxxx I never said I didn't. In fact, I sometimes find myself reinstalling it, just to freshen up my skills in that game. The problem I have with it, is that it's an unnecessary reboot that came out at a very bad time. Another example I have could be Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Both it and DmC are good games in their own right, but they were both made as reboots to established beloved franchises that didn't need them. DmC had a lot of inspiration from the movie "They Live", which makes me wonder if it would have been better off as a game based on that movie. And Lords of Shadow was supposed to be just that, Lords of Shadow, until Konami higherups decided to slap the Castlevania name on it. I like both DmC and LoS, but I hate them for what they did to the franchises they were associated with.
At its core, it's not a bad game, I enjoyed it a bit.
