    The V. Bass is so much more with external Effekts. Is a great tiny Box of Soundmaking.

      Agreed! I bought it second hand for pennies (pennies in context of synths) and I think it’s the most value for money I’ve gotten from synths I own.

    I've made some Dark Ambient music with mine, and its a blast doing so. I've used distortion pedals, and delay/reverb pedals. A absolute fun machine.

      It really shines when a little bit of effects are applied to it! (Statement that I guess stands with most synths 😁)

  • @transmissionmusic

    • @foreverpadawan4364
      @foreverpadawan4364  Рік тому

      Thanks! Most likely you’ll get very close at least depending on the pedal! Here I think I applied some shimmer reverb and soundtoys crystallizer if I recall correctly. So I’d imagine with any reverb pedal the end result is quite close.

    • @foreverpadawan4364
      @foreverpadawan4364  Рік тому

      That’s a tough comparison. For me it’s the Bass that takes the win. I just like the rawness of it. Haven’t tried other Volcas beside from the Sample which I found hard to work it when trying to create your own samples for it

    I have a question, I have Korg Volca Keys, Fm2, Sample, I'm standing at a crossroads now what to buy? Korg Volca Bass or Roland S1 compact ?

    • @foreverpadawan4364
      @foreverpadawan4364  Рік тому +1

      Sorry, I missed this. I haven’t tested S1 but it seems to be more versatile and feature rich being a lot newer piece of gear. I do like Volca Bass a lot though even though it’s old and less versatile. For the price it sounds great and it’s excellent for ambient stuff as well. Maybe secret option is to get S1 and then hunt down Volca Bass used somewhere ;). I bought mine used and it was something like 75e or so.

      Nice! What would you say is your favourite soft synth? For some reason I find it hard to get myself spending time fiddling the knobs of a soft synth ui. Even though they are so versatile and limitless in regards to sound design. There’s just something magical to it when you turn physical knobs :)

    • @foreverpadawan4364
      @foreverpadawan4364  Рік тому +4

      @@arekw9750 Nice! Shimmer is great for the price!
      I’m afraid my creative workflow can be summed up with: ”happy accidents” :D. For the videos here I usually jam with hardware synths or software synths until I find something that sounds good to me and then I build on that. Finally I’ll record a video where I half-improvise with a synth on top of that. Half-improvising, meaning that I usually know already whereabouts I will start as I’m not that great at improvising.
      This channel’s purpose is for me to learn about music production, synths and song making by committing to a schedule of releasing something to the wild. This forces me to finish stuff and not just leave bunch of ideas in the corner of a hard drive :).
      In the end I’m quite a beginner with this stuff. Mostly just learning by emulating what better musicians do and hopefully will ”build my own voice” (as cliche as it sounds :D) bit by bit in the process
