There is no such thing as a "natural podcaster" when you had years of on the job training with their OCC TV SHOW. this guy is just continuing his gift of gab from their TV show. No need to complement his guy. Plus their choppers suck. Nobody wants their junk motorcycles theses days.
This is great content and yes American Choppers did have an impact on motorcycle sales and cable programs featuring other builders. I remember needing to watch every new episode of American Choppers and also watching the creative process of Paul Jr. Keep up the great work!
Glad to see you're branching out. So many successful shows have had the rug pulled with no ability to retain their audience. Fast N Loud, Diesel Brothers and now you are figuring out that you've gotta do your own thing... something YOU can control. You're a smart man Paul!
I just found (yesterday 10-10-2024) a double sided metal sign buried on my land. It’s a double sided, round, metal sign. It’s about 70” and has the word “comet” in white letters inside a red horn shaped background. Blue circle around the outer rim of the sign. Any idea? I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. Thanks
( This is Tom, not Sandra.) Great interview!! Thanks for posting. I love the old things: signs, toys, TV shows, music, etc. Thanks for posting this interview. It was very informative and professional!! Take care.
I found a 14.4x7.5" cast iron Skagit (Skagit Steel) sign I am trying to date... found in a scrap bin in Canada. I assume it's off a grapple loader or logging vehicle. It's beautiful. Any idea where I can find out more about logging industry sign values?
(This is Tom, not Sandra.) Great, informative video!! Thank you for posting this wonderful teaching video!!! Those signs are great....that you have on the wall.
Miss you guys on tv hope all is well with the family your dad and Mikey. We don't here much about Mikey anymore. What kind of updates on him?? Thanks Scott
just found this podcast, enjoyed very much. big fan of your family , OCC, and of course PJ SOLO. MIKEY WAS ALWAYS GOOD ENTERTAINMENT AND KEPT THINGS SOMEWHAT COOL.LOL new subscriber now. Big D California fan
Great interview! Thanks to you both. By any chance, does Dan authenticate antique advertising from the UK? (Specifically, advertising mirrors, display cases and enamel wall signs,) or does he specialize in strictly American pieces?
Paul, I would love to know the story of the Pharmacist sign in the background. Im a pharmacist as well as a huge american chopper fan (i actually was just watching on discovery+ which led me here). Also was wondering why some episodes are not available anywhere on demand(for example the caterpillar build).
I have a cadillac sign said to be worth 15000 is that true also I'd you do bikes we have a 1940 indian chief for sale we are not bike people or sign people please help
as someone who is just starting out, I started collecting when I was 22 and I'm 24 now. I'm not the big roller but I do have a huge collection of $200-$1,000 signs. so it's interesting to hear that I'm on the right path in a way. I will not invest in the stock market. ever.
I seen the show were you fired OD Cody whatever his name is we're coming when he wants and leave when he wants something familiar how Paul jr. Like you and your father
THERE is two major flaws in the philosophy of this video interview. First, Paul says that a lot of young new blood is entering into the sign collecting business. Well that may be true but the math doesn't add up. Here's what I mean. There is a much higher amount of old time veteran collectors that have left us and are leaving us and sign collecting due advanced age, illness and death than the number of replacement young new blood collectors that are entering the business. There is a gross embalance in the math between the amount of long time people leaving versus the number of new people entering. Second, there is a major flaw in the grading system of 1 to 10. Simply speaking, for example. One person's grade 8 might be another person's grade 9. Or vice-versa. It's like the old saying, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". And a "new bee" collector will grade differently than a veteran collector. And, just one man's grade system cannot determine the "standard". Although Dan says he is not appraising value, he is indeed appraising condition which is a factor in valuation. Take a bank or mortgage company when you apply for a loan. The institutions want three separate appraisals and not just one! The lending institutions are looking at condition also as a part of the acessment. In other words, just one person opinion will often times vary from another person's acessment.

Paul can cut a circle. In sheet metal. With an angle grinder. Freehand. He's also one of the best welders in the world. And a pretty good podcaster.
Paul, you're a natural podcaster. Good job
Thanks! I really do enjoy it. Have been wanting to do one for years but just never got around to it

This is a wonderful example of what is GOOD about technology! Class Show Paul as always! Cheers From Ohio
I agree!
I think what is going on in this country , and the world , is driving up prices as people are becoming more nostalgic , thus driving up the market.

Awesome interview and content! Paul, are you willing to elaborate on how you were able to get “resourceful” in finding so many cool signs?
