These are great! I think I spotted Jeff Daniels in one of those GE commercials. These videos are all so nostalgic and have become a part of my yearly Christmas watching. I look forward to them each day!
3:44 - The time it would take to build the contraptions like the baseball pitcher or the fence painter in this commercial seem like they would take more time than finding someone to do the jobs they’re replacing…
A Long Way Home -"Nothing will stop him from going.." Happy Days-the classic 'throw a wild party while the parents are away' trope The Greatest American Hero-this and The Fall Guy's episode should've been a crossover Dynasty-a scandal which became the beginning of a long rivalry
7. GE- I love how inspired and soothing this version of the GE jingle sounds in this commercial. 11. GE Spacemaker Microwave Oven- Somehow I doubt that something like a microwave could cook foods like a Crown Roast or Cornish Game Hens as well as they’re shown in this commercial. McDonald’s “You Deserve A Break Today” Game- The way the woman opens her game piece to reveal she’s a winner reminds me of how Charlie Bucket unwrapped the chocolate bar to reveal a Golden Ticket in “Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory “.
How deluded were we in the early 80s to think microwaves could thoroughly cook stuff like a crown roast or a pie? And is Santa Claus using a curling iron on his BEARD?!
Izod Lacoste was a partnership between two clothing companies to make polo shirts. The logo belongs to Lacoste. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Izod_Lacoste retroiscooler.com/products/80s-lacoste-x-izod-polo-shirt-made-in-usa
I must have missed it - who brings good things to life again? Nevermind, it's GE. But does GE make Members Only jackets? Nope! That was the only thing I was interested in here!
Phenomenal set. I close my eyes and pretend I’m in the 80s. This is my holiday from real.
My grandfather worked for GE for 40 years and retired in 1989, so this set really resonates with me.
A year’s worth of coupons to Pizza Hut back then would be so worth it. Today, not so much.
12. I have to admire that little girl's commitment to wrapping that hair dryer.

That Brothers commercial screams early 80s fashion.
80s commercials, GE edition.

9:08 Paul Sand was the man of Laverne’s dreams 😂
I thought Lacoste had the little alligator icon; did Izod also have it in the 80s (10:04)?

I think the ABC Movie Theme creates an anticipation of quality and excitement that's hard to live up to.

David Letterman would approve of this video and its copious amount of GE commercials.
