There was a spot little bit bigger than this and the lady told me to put it there that is why I searched for this video. I’m driving 53” with a sleeper. I tried it for 30 minutes it didn’t work at all so one of their workers parked it with his small tractor. It’s my 4th day working by myself. Tight spots are very challenging for me so I watch a lot of videos of professional driver like yourself sir. Thank you
3 years later. How’s it going
I've been driving rig for 34 years, you did a great job and there was another way in, by backing off the street. But hey no matter, job done and well done.
That is some good truck driving right there!!! Wish we had more truck drivers on the road like you.
Hey thanks..and thanks for commenting
That was awesome, you made it look so easy, we need man like you on the road. Be blessed from the Vallecillo family
I am learning how to shag drive at a 500 acre distribution facility in Iowa. Your videos have helped me out prior to even getting into my first tractor trailer!
great i'm glad they helped
Once I saw you do a clean u-turn and not have to back up, I knew you could make it. I’ve seen drivers with plenty of room have trouble. if those parking spots had vehicles in them, that would have been a big problem, Good job.
I think its safe to say he had his CDL for a while !!!
Every dock have multiple ways of approaching it, i probably would've done the same setup. you got it in there without hitting anything. what annoys me is people will comment on my videos on what they would've done and that my way was wrong. All we are trying to do is educate. nice skills dude.
Dude you earned your pay that day. Not in a million years could I do that.
That was really good. As a truck driver, I wouldn't dare to back up having not enough space. You were actually tight in space, but you got the job done.
I've been drive'n for a long time. And sir U did a wonderful job. I believe U could have got a 53 footer in that hole. But like Mr. James said I would have backed off the street. You Sir are a credit to our profession and we need more like you out here. Be safe out there and may the good Lord take a liking to you. God bless.
Truly Professional driver I'm attending CDL training at the moment and came across your channel. I will be watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your expertise on trucking.
Cool good luck ...Where are you training? how is it going?
Nice job. Toughest one for me when I started years ago was Danville PA Wise store. Not sure if its still the same but its 2 docks but one dock always has a storage trailer. You pull in a alley/street and jack knife it in. Traffic on the street you cross is hectic! When backing is the dock has a good 35% grade drop and pulls you in when you least expect it. Not only that but you have 1/2 inch on both sides. All that with a 53 footer :) I now drive for the oil field and laugh at stuff like this anymore. Its amazing where you can put stuff when you get good knowledge and experience
yea yuour right a little experience and you can pretty much back it anywhere...Good luck on the oil field
nice job. i have stops like that everyday, and put a 53 footer in. i love hard spots. if you are like me, you love the challenge!!!
only thing I would have done different would have been to back in from the street rather than doing that U turn in the lot, but then again, I use a 53' so that U-ey would've prob been impossible for me
yeah you're right you probably could have done it from the street easier
that's the same thing I was thinking
FirebirdCamaro1220 would not be a problem with a 53. I would have also backed In but I would not have the truck straight with the trailer or waited for that car to be moved either
I just got cdl havent gotten a job yet i was thinking the same thing thanks for the comment and advice
Only thing I would have done different is probably hit a couple postal vehicles and the fence and have to find a new job.
I'd say you got braggin' rights after that clean, efficient and successful manuever, Tac! Anyone who sees this has to be envious of you doing that! Congrats!
Wow...Tac first time watching your video and you left me speechless my friend lol Great job! I'm going into the trucker field. US ARMY Vet-
Man your a badass I'm in trucking school in Oregon I watch videos to help me improve on things in my future that my friend is the most impressive thing I've seen thus far
Hey thanks and thanks for watching...Good luck on your new career
Very nice skills I wish to possess those one day
That was very impressive and a very good job!! You are a credit to your field!
hey thanks and thanks for watching
That's the video I have been looking for. I always wanted to be a truck driver, but never got into it for one reason or another, though I did get to hostle trailers a couple of times. That amazes me the way these professionals get into these tight spots and handle heavy traffic.
Badass driving skills Tac!! You should be tactical idol world champion TRUCKER!!
Very nice. I still get intimidated at times when I'm faced with a tight spot to back or turn around. I'm still learning, though.
I do to when your not a little worried that is the time you hit something
Very true. When I first started learning people told me to never be overconfident. I always play it safe and GOAL if I'm feeling unsure about something. I'd rather spend a little extra time to make sure I'm being as safe as possible.
My philosophy in backing is that at least one person has done it before me, so it CAN be done. I cut my teeth backing a 53-footer and a stand-up double-bunk road tractor into those grocery warehouses in New Jersey that were built before WWII when a 35-footer and a daycab tractor was the norm.
Just take your time, Brian, ignore the "old pros" who say they can do it in one shot and YOU drive YOUR truck. Let them drive theirs. DO NOT let them drive yours over the CB. Twenty pull-ups takes a lot less time than does the paperwork, phone calls, meetings with Safety and the firing you'll get after just ONE accident that an extra two minutes' time and care would have avoided. I'm still a greenhorn newbie-- just 20 years (solo since Jan 1994) at it and 2-plus million miles in all weather conditions. Milk tankers, dry-bulk tankers, triples, double 42-foot milk tankers, petroleum, plenty o' hazmats, US Mail; Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Fran, Houston, Dallas-- you name it, I've been there. Even been to Key West, Florida-- twice. Every one of the Lower 48. Canada experience, too. I've seen a little bit of this truckin' stuff. And I keep looking and learning. A trucker must never stop learning and must never close his mind...
Thanks for the heads up, rootbeer. I always ask more experienced truckers questions when I can. I've been pulling steel with a 48' flatbed trailer locally for 8 months now and have learned a lot of new things in that time and have gotten much more confident behind the wheel. And since I do mostly city driving it definitely has it's own challenges with limited space and tricky spots to back into for deliveries. I agree that it's always a learning experience because there are constantly new challenges you must face almost every day and I like it that way because it feels good after you accomplish something difficult. I still have much to learn about flatbed'ing and trucking in general but I'm eager to learn; doing this was the best thing I've ever done with my life so far.
That's some pretty fancy backin' there, boss!! You have to especially love it when they tell you that "You can't get a tractor-trailer in here".
I am amazed.
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not have thought that was possible,
Eric Scher Hey thanks.. Thanks for watching and commenting..
You made that look wayyy easy and did it in one shot. Good job bro.
thanks and thanks for watching
I take my skills test later today. And that vid really put me at ease. I appreciate you sharing.
great ..hope you good luck ..thanks for watching and commenting
just don't be nervous you got this easy
+tacbishop Thank you! I needed to hear that!
You made it look so easy and you only had one pull up !! Respect Sir !!!
Damn you make that look easy. Going for my semi licence, and seeing what is looks like and how to do it really helps!
Great job that's the motivation I needed ...I'm having a hard time backing in spots at the rail yard
yea the rail yards are tough everything changes almost every time you go there
You have mad skills......nice!!!!
Good you got it in there my only issue is with driver mentality, you took a 45" trailer to where they send a 24" box truck for obvious reasons. You in doing that have now set a standard that a 45" trailer will get in there and I feel sorry for anyone in the future who goes there with a 45" and is confronted with a full car park as they will then get the usual "the last driver got it in there"
It's a 45 foot trailer not a 45 inch trailer. ' is feet and " is inches.
It also happens where tight places get deliveries with a 28 foot pup trailer. They just see that it's a tractor trailer and not the size of the trailer. The old "We get tractor trailer deliveries here all the time"
Yeah, then they'll expect a 53 footer to fit. Then if that fits. They'll be expecting a turnpike to fit in there.
Jeff J Lol
Yeah those 45 inch trailers are something else
I took the state test and apparently after a dice roll I got stuck with alley docking and wasnt able to get the trailer into the hole. I am going back to retake the test next Thursday and I got an appointment next Wednesday to practice for 4 hours at the school in which I attended. Hopefully it will go well and I get the alley docking down packed incase I get stuck with it Thursday.
Your a good driver Bishop. I think you could have made it with a 53 footer too. Keep those videos coming. They help us newer drivers.
looks difficult to me and you make it very easy learn a lot in your video!went to trucking school to learn and get a Class A soon
thanks and good luck
piece of cake !! You should try the Post Office in Detroit, the docks are inside under the building.
Pretty amazing driving from my perspective-- well done sir!
Yeah man much props that was skills you showed here it looked easy but some may not realize how hard that is
do haul any 53 foot trailers?
vincent vadachino no to long for the post office
tacbishop well ya, to big for the office, but do u ever pull them whike running other loads?
vincent vadachino oh yes
tacbishop ok, was just wondering how the turning radius was on tge 53 footers, and i see u have a sleeper, how often do u go home to your wife and children?
vincent vadachino well I'm home every nigh t now
You're the Zen Master. Dang, this video is performing great!
yea you mean the views..I'm a little surprised too
yeah
Excellent job driver!
Hey thanks!!!and thanks for watching
Hats off driver - excellent skills in a very tight spot. Like threading a needle.
Man, you are one hell of a driver!
Thanks my friend
You otr drivers got it easy with mainly dock stops. US local ones gotta deal with the same stuff as you also we have to unload our load by hand.
This guy is the 🐐 he hugged everything to get that trailer in there. Impressive
Thanks
You make it look like an art-form. That was masterful!
Where are you taking classes at CDL school or Community college?
Me too, you'll have more room and in control of the variables that might prevent you turning in that lot- when you're in the lot trying to turn around and cant then you have to back out onto the street (and risking a lot of unknown factors in the process- especially in an residential suburban setting)
this man is clearly skilled, good job.
Marcus Mata hey thanks
There are alot of tight spots like this in Macon, GA. With 3 indoor dock plates, but only enough space in the truck area + employee parking lot for 1 65footer.
Great job, Driver. Backed it in their like the Boss.
thank u appreciate that
Thanks Jack. I have sometimes go to a stop that has a tight spot. When unlucky, I have a 53' trailer that I pull with a day cab. Unlike you, I've been doing a clockwise U-Turn to setup, but I may try the counter-clockwise approach because it took me about 30 minutes to complete the maneuver the last time.
That mother trucker knows what he's doing! Good job!
thanks and thanks for watching
Nice work buddy! I just finished CDL School!
Thanks and I hope you good luck on your new career
Well done. I think I could've done it with a 53 using the jack knife technic or doing what you did going all around the parking lot and before you complete the full turn, Once you see the tip of the trailer's rear right where you want it or at docks parallel position, finish it from that point... That technic works good for beginners or smaller trailers. Great, great job though!!!!!!
Do you know of any videos on the Jack Knife technique?
Your not getting a 53’ in their like that. I had a similar situation with a 48’ trailer and you would have to back off the street and leave your tractor jacked to pull out
Man, you are a great trucker! Keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy and thanks for watching
You also can put a 53” in there if you back from the street wide street and wide gate
good job bro been there on a couple new runs nicely done
That is what I am talking about Tac!!!!!!
Great job sir!!!
hey thanks. ..and thanks for watching and commenting
That was freaking impressive my man!
hey thanks for watching and commenting
not bad . Butt in eastcost like nj ny pa ct you will see lot more tight spot then this .and mostly with 53 footer.
Tight space. Daytime. In a sleeper. We're witnessing greatness here.
Very impressive parking friend,
Amazing to me. I just learned how to do 90 degree alley docking 2 days ago. Still having a little trouble getting my truck straight enough,
Well done sir! Perfectly executed !
Thanks
You made it look so easy. Great job!
Hey thanks!!!and thanks for watching
As long as you are in a C position, you are good to park truck in a tight spot....good job sir...
nice moves trucker, you keep America Rolling. keep on trucking
Smooth moves, I can see nuts will be studying this over and over.
Im about to take classes to take my class A, and i'm very intimidated by these trucks. you gave me hope, thanks. any suggestions
I'm heading to School on the 12th, was wondering how complicated is it to learn such maneuvers before hitting the open road, or is it something that only comes with experience?
Wonderful job....you made that look so easy!
hey thanks for watching and commenting. ..
As a former Dollar General driver... nice backing sir!
thank you sir
At the last, would be doing a little scissoring myself, but bravo, don't we like a challenge? I do! Like the video!
Like a boss! That's about as pro as it gets... well done!
That was crazy. Great driving!
thanks and thanks for watching
good driver this guy needs to have a raise
your one hell of a driver sir!!!!!!
Yea you are right they are easy to get around in..the easiest for me so far was the Volvo with as I call it the Bus front end
that was some might damn fine work! hats off to you sir.
hey thanks ..and thanks for watching and commenting
You got it. Im interested In getting CDL'S how do find a company to train any advice?
Yea have you watched my video on get your cdl no school?
yeah but are sure that they'll hire me with just a permit?
well no nothing is a guarantee but it won't cost anything to try I'm working right now when I get off I'll look into it a little closer see what I can find out
I think I would have started by "sightside" backing into the driveway from the street and just continuing my arc to the dock but you did excellent driver!
yea i sure that would work too..Thanks and thanks for watching
Whoa! You made it look easy!
thank you
I also back into postal facilitys all day and if you have room to turn around in the lot you can hit the dock always. Backing off the road would be another option but either way and i know it can be done. P&DC Jax.
Its all about knowing how to setup b4 yu back up....Nice job!!!!
Wow, that was AWESOMEE! KILLER JOB! I hope I can be as good some day!!! Thanks for the video.
Nice driving fella.
Well done, ! will continue to watch ! outstanding!
Thanks for watching and commenting
I would like to see the back of the trailer and if it's perfectly docked or if its more to the sides, or at an angle. That's the part that scares me most as a rookie!
Hey thanks for watching and commenting..I guess I was so worried about getting in there I forgot the 4 ways...
Nice job, I do this for a living, some of the po's I have to back in give me nightmares. Also those cars are called llvs.
You did good
that is very cool bishop ❤ it
@@stephendryden8931 thanks
Funny thing is..... That Crownvict was in the 4th space upon arrival... BUT, some how disappeared on the dash cam while busting a uturn... Than magically reappeared after you made the dock. Still was a nice shot at it, we'll just say ... some advancements made it possible. :)
oh yes you are right the crown vic had to be moved
Yes the crown Vic disappeared then back again
GO PIRATES!!!!!!!!! Just graduated from there ... ps i just randomly clicked on this video haha....Mad skills my man
Idk from being a yard jockey almost 3/4years now in my opinion I would've easily backed up from the street, less time and work being used? Good job either way! BTW that car being moved was the best moment here.
Very nice job getting that trailer in there
Nice job backing that trailer in. One question. Was the height of the cement roof ever a consideration? Looks mighty close to the top of that trailer.
ironhorse127 oh yes I was careful to make sure it was enough clearance
I have to agree with Dtoolman. That is exactly what I would have done. Now, try that with a 53' trailer.
They could have moved the cars and the buggy for you. I might would have backed in from the road, but looks like you did good ! I Salute you !
Good job, experience showing.
Hey thanks and thanks for watching
