David's approach is friendly, kind, and helpful, without being patronizing. I actually felt soothed instead of stressed about design as I watched his direct, but casual and comforting advice. More please.
David Netto has swagger and style. He is incredibly versed in interior design, not only for today, but also the lineage to the great designers that informs all interior design: Bestigui, Jacques Garcia , Billy Baldwin's room at La Fiorentina shown in the video. He has great advice. I hope you bring him back!
I have enormous respect for David Netto. His knowledge of architectural and design history is so thorough and his way of speaking of it is very approachable. I always learn something when I read or listen to an interview with him.
I love this so much. There are a lot of interior designers giving decent advice on UA-cam but many are not as experienced professionally. Please continue this series, David’s advice is and taste is so elevated 💕
1:53 Bookmarking the suggestion of Vermont Soapstone for the beautiful, durable kitchen counter. As science geek who enjoyed mixing things up in the lab, these counters had me at first sight😍
Short video but a lot to unpack. I remember my mom’s house was mostly furnished with MCM pieces but she had a coffee table and console table that looked like they came out of a castle, and sitting on the console table was a large tramp art church with working clock that survived a house fire and had char marks on the back. Those kinds of things are what excite me when it comes to design and seriously what I’m missing

Most people think of color as one thing. But color is nothing without another color next to it. A color changes when it is next to a different color. ❤
I just want to say Thank you! If one more person mounts a tv above a fireplace I’m going to lose it. I don’t know who started that trend but they can take it back.
I usually last about 1 minute before I move on to something more interesting, but this was really well done and great ideas. I would love to see more with this designer. thank you.
It was a pleasure listening to David Netto speak. I enjoyed his sense of humor and he gave some very practical and inexpensive advice. My favorite was take some things away. And I’ve found that to be true. This video was very useful and easy to follow. Great editing also, I loved the fireplace scene as well.
Thank you, AD, for a great video! I love your content on the creative process, when designers meet, share their knowledge and experience. It makes it relateable to anybody, no matter the budget you have nor the reason you enjoy watching your videos!
Enjoyed this so much. I have no ID genes, but this gave me food for thought. And Mr. Neto, you are the only reason I kept listening to the end. Professional and confident and willing to share your knowledge and insights. Thank you!
"am I excited to look at these two pieces, or am I just trying to solve a problem?" very helpful and possibly the push I needed to get those metal nightstands 😅
Wow great video! When he said get a chair I almost fell out of mine . I love a chair statement usually just one maybe it could be that red color piece a room needs, a chair with a live green plant and a nice lamp I don’t need anything more. Lots of great life advise within this video as well.
Love David. He is open about his influences and inspirations. He is your decorators decorator. He hired a decorator (Paul Fortune) to help him with his house in LA. I am sure he has an ego but, he doesn't show it very well. He seems to be open and always learning. I don't know David but he seems to be nonchalant about his designing. He is a designer that inspires me.
Best short informative video by far! Saved to watch later again and again when needed. Doesn't hurt that he's nice to look at too...Love the jacket, the smile, the eyes!🙂
I just added pops of red to my room after the holidays & feeling it. His tips are spot on, I got so much out of this 15 min video than any other design channel.
Inspiring and relevant, very down to earth - it's a lot about creativity within constraints like budget and space, and way less about poring endless money into designer pieces that mean very little to you.
I agree with a lot of the points raised with one, qualified exception. I love pale painted floors too, but taking away all rugs has two pitfalls: It makes the room less inviting and sterile, and if one has dogs that shed, no rug leaves the dust bunnies to float around the room. If you can bear dust-mopping two times daily, then fine-if that’s unrealistic for the way you live, get rugs.
What color should I avoid? for me, I guess it's gray or silver. This color is kinda lonely , sad or being alone. Big thanks to this video. I encountered so many tips and great knowledge for Interior Designers.
@@bngr_bngr It's not just about what the high placement of TV would to your neck - it is the whole ruined aesthetic of it. A fireplace is usually the main focal point in the room and by placing the TV on top of it, it takes away the focus and creates a competing one.

David Netto, besides being ridiculously handsome, you are very articulate and interesting. All I could think of after watching this video is that I need to rewatch it and take notes. Now I'm off to buy you book and study your genius. You really should be making more videos. Your genius should be shared.
"Interior Designer Answers Your Top Design Questions" needs to be a regular series
+100
yes please. short and sweet answers.. I like it!
I second this
This is the best video AD has published in a long time. Please have him back often!
I agree!
Completely agree. More of experts like this, less feckless celebrities….
Oh yeah - this was great!
Definitely agree
Literally stopped my car to send the link to my husband
I love that he emphasized personal connection and the fact that you'll make mistakes and that's okay
David's approach is friendly, kind, and helpful, without being patronizing. I actually felt soothed instead of stressed about design as I watched his direct, but casual and comforting advice. More please.
He is a teeny but patronising but I'm fine with this.
OMG --He is so pragmatic and has superb suggestions--love him so much! Please have him come back!
"The best designer often not a designer.. " Spot on!
Expected him to be smug but he surprised me. His "I love budgets" comment and the reason behind it was refreshing.
Excellent pick AD. I agree with many viewers. Please more of David Netto.
Love that quote: "Great decorating is about creativity - it`s not about spending money" - David Netto. All the way absolutely true! Great video!

Indeed. I’m honestly trying to figure out what that denim jacket is!
I have enormous respect for David Netto. His knowledge of architectural and design history is so thorough and his way of speaking of it is very approachable. I always learn something when I read or listen to an interview with him.

Hadn’t heard of David Netto before but found him and his advice very real, unpretentious and accessible👌🙏

YES!!! Absolutely no hanging the TV on top of a fireplace! So many "designers" do this and it really makes my stomach churn.
Most educational (and entertaining) video this channel has released in quite a while! Thank you ad
This guy is the real deal. His attitude, his advice, his demeanor, yes!!!
I just want to say Thank you! If one more person mounts a tv above a fireplace I’m going to lose it. I don’t know who started that trend but they can take it back.
The best designer often not a designer.. " Spot on!
That counter sounds really cool. It holds on to the memories of all the meals you cooked in it but in a visually appealing way
This guy was amazing, it was really nice and easy to listen to him. Do ask if he wants to come back and do another video.
I love that he emphasized personal connection and the fact that you'll make mistakes and that's okay
Loved this segment - so very informative! Need to see more of David, as I didn't want the video to end!
Love the commentary. Very useful and not at all pretentious
I usually last about 1 minute before I move on to something more interesting, but this was really well done and great ideas. I would love to see more with this designer. thank you.
Appreciate that he refers back to the client/end user and does not inject his aesthetics.
"Dogs. You are lucky to have them."
Yup. ❤🤗❤️

Love Netto. He's a brilliant unapologetic designer that pushes the boundaries of design estetics.
Getting educated by one the best is priceless. What a gem.
This guy all day. Yes. Thank you.
Enjoyed this so much. I have no ID genes, but this gave me food for thought. And Mr. Neto, you are the only reason I kept listening to the end. Professional and confident and willing to share your knowledge and insights.

Give this person their own show...like Rita Konig, practical, real world advice for us mere mortals!
This is the best video AD has published in a long time. Please have him back often!
this guy really knows his stuff, great video
I could listen to him for hours! We need more interviews with him.
I agree- he needs his own show!!!
This is the best video AD has published in a long time. Please have him back often
More, please! Engaging and so helpful.
Thank you for not being afraid of the color red. It is my favorite color and I don’t see nearly enough of it used anymore.
Would love to have this guy and other interior designers on the channel
"am I excited to look at these two pieces, or am I just trying to solve a problem?" very helpful and possibly the push I needed to get those metal nightstands 😅
Wonderful! More please. Have him back several times a year!

I'm about to paint a very large room without a lot of natural light a very dark blue, so I feel vindicated tonight. Great Q&A!
This was actually helpful. How refreshing.
Ditto the other comments. Please do this Q&A more often. David Netto was great!!! Would love to see more of him.

You are an amazing down to Earth designer/decorator… You helped me immensely with ideas for giving my shoebox apartment a splash of color!
More videos like these would get me to watch the channel more

I so enjoyed this! So informative. Thank you!
Very interesting to listen to and sensible at the same time. This is somebody who would be fun to talk to over lunch. Cheers!
Love love love my soapstone. Feels ‘soft’ and ‘warm’ - and it looks spectacular after being treated with mineral oil !
Enjoyed this & appreciated his point of view... and humor.
great sense of humour
Expected him to be smug but he surprised me. His "I love budgets" comment and the reason behind it was refreshing.
Very sensible tips that anyone can use. Thank for this.
Best episode in a long while I enjoyed it so much better than those imaginary designer competitions 🤦🏾♀️
Ooooo... This Interior Design zaddy is genuinely informative and witty too....
This is the best veido ad has published in a long time.
Spitting facts. Very valuable and informative video. Thank you David.
I watched this twice and will rewatch more. Such great insights!
I have never cared for any interior design, but i loved this video. This guy is super smart and the designs he showed are awesome.
The sense of humor is fantastic. Great tips as well.
Thank you Fashion Bateman, thank you!
(Kinda reminds me of Jason Bateman and I indeed enjoyed the video.)

More please!
I love this guy!!! More of him! Please!
more of this please, loved what the guy had to say
Liking just for the fireplace over TV opinion! That's a neck breaker situation for me.
Edit: Loved his perspective!
They have articulating TV frames that you can pull down the TV to eye level. Then it easily pushes back when you are done.
