Zee, can we get a Top 10: “Top 10 games that feel like TCGs/CCGs but aren’t”?

    Love this game
Why this game is so good is that it gives you that TCG / CCG feeling as a solo game. Which is hard to come by.

I really liked this game. I've only ever played solo but it does hit the spot for me. It is a crowded field but it think it brings some cool stuff to the table.
I does kinda stink that the yellow faction isn't included but I believe you can buy it directly from the company. Which is better than losing out on an actual exclusive. I'm looking at you CMON with Rising Sun!

Zee mentioned it’s a crowded field. Does anyone else know any games that are co-op like this? There’s plenty of there are plenty of collectible card games but a co-op one?

There's the LCGs like LotR, Arkham Horror, and Marvel Champions.
Deckbuilders like Aeon's End, Xenoshyft, and Legendary Encounters (Alien).
He might also be thinking of Marvel United since I know he ranks it high

MtG can also be played co-op and solo with the right packs. There's a lot of options.

Mage Tower is a solo tower defense card game that is quite good.

@@batmanrobin7898 look up "Theros Game Day Face the Hydra Challenge". There were another two after that.
Horde Magic is an unofficial variant similar to that but you have to build the appropriate Horde deck yourself.
IIRC MaRo said it wasn't a popular format so they never revisited the concept

I really like the game, but agree with lack of content and lackluster rulebook. They do have the other faction/enemy deck available for order directly from them.

I was lucky enough to get a kickstarter edition with the extra content at ukge. I really like the game so far as it gives me a TCG feel solo.

I actually love this game. It pretty much replaced Marvel Champions for me. At least playing solo. It's so much faster than MC. (Coop I still prefer MC. I agree with Zee that coop feels like playing half a game.) The rulebook is indeed clunky. Luckily they're going to update it and do some minor tweaks to the rules to improve the game. With the new rulebook, tweaks and upcoming stand alone expansion this is, in my opinion, one of the best true solo card games out there.

Some positives not mentioned: low price point and barrier to entry. Multiple player decks are included in the box, along with multiple enemy decks and difficulty levels. So there is variety and challenge to base game.
I think the blue deck has no flavor at all and shouldn’t be the first deck you play. It’s pedestrian. And I agree this game is not breaking any new ground, but it’s does the classic magic/hearthstone game style well, with being an annoying money draining TCG. It’s a solid solitaire game that has a lot of room to grow. Base game rarely have true deck building options. So I’m looking forward to seeing how several expansions develop the play styles and deck building options.

This game isn’t bad, but the marvel game is better in almost every way. Deck building in marvel is a little less, but with what u get in the base box here, it may as well not exist either.
The rulebook for horde is missing sooo much stuff. The card play is standard fair I suppose but the lanes and resource tracking feels more fiddly than marvel. The lack of card draw causes games to eventually turn into a top deck fest which reduces gameplay decisions, and thus.. fun. Marvel also fixes this problem.
Overall, I just don’t see any reason to play this over the marvel game.

I didn't like this game. One issue I had is that if using a castle without a card draw ability, you can get stuck. The only reliable way to draw is to defeat an enemy. If one or two of the strongest enemies come out early, they can easily have enough health that your current hand simply cannot defeat them. And with no way to draw more, it's effectively game over on turn one or two. Absolutely not fun.

One thing they are updating with the next printing is that all castles have that inherent card draw ability. I agree that this iteration has many problems but I’m very excited for what is next as it seems like there is hope for improvement overall
