Tron has so many amazing visual things you could do in the ride/queue but instead it’s lowest common denominator as always. It’ll still have long waits and Disney will still call it a success even though it’s visually a huge let down. Hagrid was built in a third of the time that this clone took to reassemble and Hagrid had actually theming and show scenes
Agreed, this is a pretty huge let down for Tron Fans in terms of theming. You’d think they’d do it better the second time around. :/
I rather have the beauty and the beast ride or the pirates ride from the other Disney parks . I’m sorry I don’t mean to be negative I’m usually a big Disney fan it just feels like Disney doesn’t listen to its audience anymore.
I totally agree they don't listen and I would love a ride based on a more Disney-esque movie... Beauty and the Beast, or even Emperors New Groove. I know Tianas Bayou is coming but they demolished a classic to do it.. Just makes me sad...

Sure it looks impressive but it’s so short! I love hagrid because yeah the wait time is long but the ride is long!!! Is worth the wait!
2:00 Is some really bizarre staging for the Magic Kingdom. They have you walking straight ahead for quite some length with nothing to look at except some distant trees. There's some real potential for theming or at least architecture there.
EDIT: I think what is actually bothering me here is that it makes you feel so far out of the park. You're already well over the railroad and the trees are even more of a distance away. I recognize this is a weird quibble with so many differently shaped Magic Kingdom-style parks now, but WDW’s Magic Kingdom never really allowed the park experience to extend past the railroad. The exceptions being Space Mountain, the TTA, and the Splash Mountain area. But those areas are quickly enclosed by the immediate architecture. It feels odd to leave the Magic Kingdom so far behind.
EDIT2: Nvm. That's just the sightline for their next DVC wing.
Yeah honestly after looking at this, and I know we already have Test Track, but the aesthetics of this really seems way more EPCOTy to me.
And the floors are so boring too. Very strange to see this in a Disney Park.

@@rockoz Then it shouldn’t have been placed in Magic Kingdom. Each park used to have a cohesive aesthetic that is lost now. Animal Kingdom is the only park that has (so far) escaped cohesion breaks.

I love how there’s the whole canopy. Then they have to have those white temporarily permanent umbrellas to cover where guests wait outside in the queue 😂
One thing that I love about this ride is the queue music! For some reason it’s so cool to listen to! I absolutely love the music

Man, how do you have a Tron ride and not have Tron's voice as one of the boarding area voices? That feels like a missed opportunity. Either Tron or Rinzler's voice, take your pick, but just stick Bruce Boxleitner in there for chrissakes
The ride reminded me so much of space mountain at disneyland paris with the launched start and even some of the track elements and the 'electro de velocitor' style brake run a the end. However the ride seems wayyyyy too short and given the whole thing is about light cycles there was far too little theming in the dark part. Feels like a pretty underwhelming experience. There should be so much more emphasis on light and neon style glows.
Yeah it seems way short but that's what we expect from Disney now.
Seeing Tom fit on the bike was really helpful. Thanks for that. I'm wondering though, how did your knees and back feel after you got off the bike? Seems like a lot of pressure on those joints? Although I did not hear anyone complaining as you exited the attraction ... 🙂
Whenever I go back to Disney (guessing it will take a few years), I will be so excited to ride this. I would want to wait until Journey of Water is open, so I can revisit Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Queue looks so cool
I'm waiting for Universal Epic Universe to open then maybe I'll check out WDW again. Way to expensive now and more like work the way they make you reserve everything on your phone.

It looks GREAT! …….It’s just WAY TOO SHORT!! ……They go to all the trouble to design, and build the ride, only to make the coaster 30 seconds too short! (same with Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride!!).
I agree if the ride was a minute longer it would be one of the best rides ever
I would say Cosmic Rewind and Hagrids are still the top 2 family coasters in Orlando cause they actually have decent lengths.
This looks so cool to ride. You need to have a Game Grid that has the Disc Wars and the other game from the original Tron movie. Happy gaming. I really love the Cast Members Tron outfits

Tom looks to be about my size and shape… Since he was able to fit in the Lightcycle, I should too.

I rode in Shanghai and was a little disappointed. Notwithstanding the incredibly short length, internal part is based on repetitive set pieces and mirrors. It's also like they gave up on sightlines in the MK version.
Tom, based on the advertised opening date (April 4th) is this a normal time frame for cast member pre views?
Yeah, cast member previews are usually 2 months out, with media, DVC, annual passholder, D23, Club 33, and Golden Oak being one month out. If there is time, they sometimes squeeze in a couple more cast member previews a month out of opening if there is time
The outside part you only get to enjoy it at night!! Why have such a crucial segment of the ride be only enjoyed at a very little time frame of the day?
Lets add a Space Mountain overlay…. “CyberSpace Mountain”
Would also like to see the stage turn into a dance party at night and turn the Merchant of Venus to the “End Of Line Club”

Tron had the best sound track
My reaction for Ratatouille at EPCOT is the same for TRON. Meh. At least TRON is adding park capability unlike some other projects around WDW property.
How come there are already POVs from other smaller vloggers out there but they prohibited you guys to film this and had to use the Shanghai POV.
There's miscommunication. Many were told they can film with a chest mount.
In disney world is for cast members and they can invite 3 other people with them now . With Shanghai its a rule that you can't film on rides.

Humm? I would've loved if the cast members were given better uniforms w led lights to resemble the original tron. Sell it to me a tad better. I don't feel digitized enough. Or have some dressed as the bad guys w staffs directing you?the same for the ppl on screen. Make me truly feel like I'm in the computer. Or ooooh like what great adventure did which was turning the ride partially into a virtual reality experience. That was fun and wild.
One positive, at least hopefully this will probably shorten the lines at space mountain. I’m fine sticking with Space.
It’s a long walk and que for a less than 2 minute ride. Plus, the position on the cycle does not look comfortable.
Quick question shouldn't the cast members be saying "greetings programs" in their best Jeff Bridges impression.
It looks like a really fun coaster, and it also looks like the seat might accommodate me (I’m bigger, but in ways the seat doesn’t seem to have issue with looking at what it does lmao). But I do think if I were to ride it, id wait until nighttime. Willing to bet everyone’s feeling the same way until the wait times come out 😂
They have seats on one of the train(?) pieces that are accommodating to larger people or people with mobility issues.. I have seen it on 2 other channels.

We will be there in mid-April to ride it. My mom had knee surgery and can’t fully bend her knee…do you tell the cast members that you need to sit in the seats rather than the bike? Is it a separate line once you get inside for the seats rather than the bike? From what I can tell…if you have trouble with your knees the bike is a no-go.
Ask for bucket seats that is what the cast members call them

I can’t really say for sure since I have not been there in person yet, but I think the exterior under daylight is one of the blandest things I have ever seen disney make in terms of theming. Sure it looks great at night but idk during daylight it seems bland. The dome lights also look extremely faint during daylight
At least a couple animatronics or holograms in the wait area would have been nice
Would love to have seen the process of getting your stuff out of the lockers, seems like it will be a bit chaotic.
I think we have some of it filmed in vertical for social media. It wasn't too bad, but you definitely want to take a good look in there (it's dark) to make sure you got everything.

One of the first things i noticed was the use of the dark costumes for the programs (cast members). I would have to think in the hight of the Florida summer, that would get unbearable for them. Hopefully they switch to the white costuming, it would be more in line with the film anyways.
The launch area looks amazing!! unfortunate that they did not extend that aesthetic on the outside for the walk up to the entrance. Even the queue area is surprisingly lacking, just some overhead displays and static wall art. Standard office building hallways.
The movies are so visually rich, for the amount of time they spent building everything, it is disappointing to see the lack of immersion.
So excited I can’t wait to ride it. Love the music too.
Doubtful I will ever ride it in the near future, my next vacation is over two years from now and it's solely at Universal.

Idk. It looks like a great ride, cant wait. Love the overall design, BUT walking through the queue begs for much more. My favorite part of the avatar ride is the walk up, it's what Disney does best. This seems a little lack luster. Thanks Tom.
Looks interesting but I wouldn’t stand in line for over an hour to ride it. I’ll be going to Orlando when universal’s new park opens but with three parks to go to I may not have time for Disney.

This ride passes the eye test but….. it seems a bit short and lacking in thrill. Is this really going to be a great coaster? Cosmic Rewind, Everest, and Rock N Rollercoaster seem much more exciting..
Sucks you couldn’t get ride footage at MK’s Tron and yet other bloggers were able to do it
We were told by a Cast Member after loading not to film so we complied.

Thought this was the one in Florida until the ending when the exit instructions were in Chinese. Looking forward to seeing your coverage of the Florida attraction which I hear opens on April 4th.
It is. They used footage during the ride from Shanghai as they weren't allowed to film while they were on the ride. The footage before and after is Orlando. The ride itself is basically the same between the two parks once you are on the tracks
Darkoaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg looks better then Tron. It took sea World Parks one year to open darkoaster yet it took Bob Cheapeak and Iger 5 years. First with the star Wars hotel blunder, fighting with the governor of Florida there number one market and there blue sky investments that never happen any more with this reigme Disney has become the new Six Flags.
So, I have a couple of thoughts on the issue of guests not “fitting” the ride vehicle… 1)) They have known for a long time that the average American guest is not as small as the average Chinese guest that the vehicles were originally designed for… more thought should have been put into making the ride vehicles more accommodating for the average guest size. 2) There is plenty of AI tech out there in the market where they could scan guests at some point in the queue and predetermine who is a likely candidate to not fit the vehicle, it would even be thematically appropriate in this particular case and could be presented as a futuristic “scanning you into the game grid” scenario complete with lighting effects, etc. This information could then be utilized by cast members at a split point in the queue to separate lines for the standard vehicles, and the accommodation vehicles eliminating the ‘fat shaming’ moment when you get up to the vehicle. But alas, it would seem that the “Imagination” portion of Imagineering is being stifled by the bean counters.
If you can't fit on the bikes there are bucket seats at the back
@@emmamarshall3854 you apparently didn’t read my post… the entire point of which was to create a themed way to sort people who won’t fit the bikes to those seats via a different queue at a split point in the queue. That way people don’t get all the way up to the loading area, and end up getting put into another line for the cars at the back… you know, a way to “plus” the experience.
So how is it Tron is ready for previews yet it will be 2 months before it opens to the puny???
A month of cast member previews, followed my a month of passholder, vacation club, and media. They should just do soft openings, but Disney would rather a controlled period. Imagineering needs this period as “test and adjust”. They test it with real people and they are what works and what doesn’t work. I rode Guardians in passholder previews, and I noticed that the spinning was less intense when I rode it after opening. This period also lets cast members figure out how to operate the ride under a “real-world” scenario and allowing them to get into the groove of it.
@@christopherthedisneydude6621 OK I get that, but it still seems like a lot of time, essentially compared to when Rise opened and even recently when Runaway Railway opened at Disneyland, that just had one or two days of media previews and no passholder previews at all (I think CMs where just two weeks.). I do recall years ago in 1977 when Space Mountain opened at Disneyland we (us CMs) had about three weeks of testing. They end up slowing down the speed because the “rockets” were going too fast because the nylon wheels (a fairly new technology then) were rubbing off on the tracks, basically creating a Teflon effect. But heck, that was a couple of wild rides we did!
Lets ALL take bets it breaks down alot like another newish ride!
I'll take the "under" bet (whatever that may be) it's not new technology or any of that, it's simply a roller coaster.

That ride’s theming missed the mark in China and now it’s missing it in Orlando, too. It’s the same mediocrity. They just copy-pasted it, warts and all.
I’m let down as a TRON fan. The Grid in TRON: Legacy is so gorgeously realized- it’s akin to Pandora from Avatar in my opinion. Now imagine if the foliage in Pandora at AK was just a bunch of Orlando native plants mixed with a bunch of fake looking alien flowers. Or if it had Navi meet & greet characters that looked like slightly-taller-than-average Blue Man Group Rejects. The queue looks more like an upscale laser tag arena that couldn’t afford to use the TRON license than it does an E ticket attraction in a Disney Park. I’d say it looked like Test Track, but I think TT has just a smidge more pizazz.
I haven’t had and won’t have the money to be visiting WDW any time soon, but if I did, I’d be hugely disappointed by the theming of this ride as a TRON: Legacy fan.
Wonder if this will lessen the strain on rides like space mountain or mine train

WDW News, It was interesting to see Tom sit on the stationary cycle. He looked so much like Valentino Rossi, just molded into the cycle like it was built for him. Eric, unfortunatly does'nt have the same smooth profile. He pops out all over the place. Like 99% of the rest of us. The wait time at night will be 2 hours long at least. Thats when most people will want to ride. Cheers, Chris Perry.

I’m not one to complain, and I’m easy to please, but it just looks so blah & empty. And I know it’s a clone from Shanghai, but Tron is such a weird choice. And it looks insanely uncomfortable. I’m pregnant anyway; maybe I’ll try the ride next year.
