Petals float on saki Sails in perpetual wind Battle rages on. Really like the disconnect between the serene contemplation of cherry blossom viewing depicted on the board, with the dynamic images of fighting maidens on the cards. Nice one Mike. Thanks for showcasing your automa. Don't think the game is for me even though I like the theme, but still really enjoyed the playthrough! 😊
Nice! Still waiting for my copy. There are many games in the dueling space but: * Some have no customization (Unmatched, Radlands). * Some have a huge library (Ashes). * Shuffle building is not that satisfying (Sorcerer). This game fills my niche of dueling game with just enough customization.
Waiting for this video since I discovered your channel thanks to your Exceed solo mode. Love Sakura Arms and now I don't need people to play. Can we consider that your solo mode is finished? Or are u going to make changes?
Unless something MAJOR comes up, this solo mode is done. It’s been played by some higher level Sakura arms players, so I feel more confident in it than I did with my first exceed draft for example :)
@@jorgemontero7905 oh whoops, I don't do impressions for my own solo modes, because it seems a bit odd to review something unofficial and created by me, lol. And I prefer Exceed, personally, for the quick and sometimes randomly crazy play. Sakura Arms is more controlled and strategic, and sometimes it can feel like you've already won or lose based on how your deck was built. But those exact aspects are going to appeal more to some gamers.
@@OneStopCoopShop I meant a review of sakura arms, not your solo mode. Your solo mode is awesome, by the way. Thanks to you I can play two of my 1vs1 favourite games alone.
Hi Mike, great video and great automata there a bit of correction with Momentum keyword at 14:47: as the rule for momentum keyword is: You cannot play this card unless the current Distance is at least 2 greater than it was at the beginning of this turn, and you have not made an attack this turn since you had made an attack with "Wavering Crystal" Disenchant effect (Perform an attack ...), you can't play a card with momentum keyword on it
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah, it would be too OP if wavering crystal have synergy with momentum because 1/- no reaction + move backward is really2 strong combined with 5/3 attack (5/3 will almost surely go to life, not to mention if u use Hagane's bell to get no reaction it ensure 5/3 to deal damage to life)
Thanks Mike. How do you like this game? Do you enjoyed it enough to expect that it will hit the table again in the future? Does it worth staying in your collection?
I think it’s a lot of fun, and I’m keeping it. It’s a little more complex than Exceed, so I tend to play that one more with my family, but Sakura arms is fun with my solo mode.
Good question! I'll try to be brief :) Yomi - Honestly, I've played this one very minimally. In my plays it felt like a total random-fest. Paper-rock-scissors doesn't feel like fun strategy and combat to me, personally. But I know others love it and can see more strategy and planning in the play! BattleCON - Some people say this one can fall victim to analysis paralysis and play slowly, since information is all open. But that's not how we play, and if you just have fun with the game it's a blast. It's really impressive how different the fighters can each play, with so few cards and tokens, and the choice of what you ante and how you use your force is always interesting. Also, the Devastation set is a CRAZY value, with tons of fighters, tons of battle modes, an official solo/co-op delve, and it works with my solo mode too :) So yeah, really enjoy this one, though not quite as much as Exceed. Exceed - This is my favorite of the four. In some ways the fighters feel less unique than in BattleCON (because half their deck is generic), but they still play very differently. The difference between BattleCON is that the game plays so quickly, without anteing and as much second guessing. Also the turn structure and choosing how to spend your actions is consistently interesting. And I THINK I'm proudest of the automa for this one... maybe. I like all 3 of the fighting game solo systems I've designed. Sakura Arms - I've played this one the least competitively, since I only got my pledge a few weeks ago. I like the quick and simple combining of goddesses, and how that can create endless combinations and very different feels to the fighters. Also, the sakura management is really interesting. I do feel that this one is in some ways the most punishing and unforgiving though. Like sometimes your constructed deck just doesn't match well with your opponent's, and you might feel like you lose no matter what you do... which I don't think any of the other games have. So in some ways it's the least random and most strategic, but I'm not sure if that's what I'll want sometimes :) Hope that helps!
@@OneStopCoopShop REALLY appreciate for your thoughts! Valuable! I saw these and was wondering I'll choose this over BattleCon / Exceed... Well, maybe I'll investigate a bit more before decide... @@jupiterloner999 well, if you want to use my solo modes, for BattleCON I have all the fighters for Devastation, and for Exceed so far I have all of season 3 (street fighter) and 4 (shovel knight).
I wouldn’t go that far. I enjoy the challenge and thought process of designing these, and having a solo option means I get to play them more too. I certainly very much like the game though.

Lot to juggle and explain, but I fully believe it'd be easier to just run the ai. Thanks so much Mike!
Yeah, tough to explain the entire concept of the competitive play and layer the AI on top of it in one video 😅😅
