What's impressive here is how seamless it is. He dribbles with speed by touching the ball with his laces and his foot slanted to favor a cut with the outside of his foot. At the point of making the move he can either drag with the outside and then cut inside or cut to the inside and then straighten himself with his outside -- both of these Messi does better than anybody in the world. Everything is a feint, the non-active leg -- the one not moving the ball -- is always positioned to feint.
We need more clips of this kind. Plissss do.... This is more useful than any other video. Knowing how he touches n runs with the ball will help players alott
obs: in the 2015 champions league semi final game he made the first feint against the best defender of the time and covered the best goalkeeper of that time and maybe, one of the best goalkeepers in history he is not from this planet✨️
The best kind of dribble there is is the one where the dribbler uses his body to feint but lets the ball roll on its original course. Well maybe not the best, but the awesomest to watch :D Maradona did it, Cruijff did it, Messi's doing it and, happily for me, Ajax-fan, Eriksen does it too :D
@RullTapet Messi's dribbles are FAR from simple, they are the highest standard in football. The only reason why it looks simple is because Messi makes it look simple along with his natural speed. If you see Messi play in person it would be much different from what you see on TV(considering my experiences watching live football at Nottingham forest,Man Utd and Coventry City).
i play just like him now i'm been training for like 6 months those moves and i finally have good control with ball and can cut through players. with hard work you can accomplish anything i can be sure of that.
@kelvinkc1 It's all about putting it in match-situations. Messi is the best player in the world because he uses simple but effective dribbles in the situation where Ronaldo makes a fool of himself because he tries to showoff, but loses possesion because it takes too long. Messi is able to do advanced stuff to, we see that in every game, but he doesn't make it difficult for himself unnecessarily, he does what's needed. He's smarter than Ronaldo, that's why he's the greatest player in the world,
its a funny thing i try to dribble like messi just using simple basic moves with good control and i dosent work always. i tell myself stepovers dont work and sometimes i get tired of just running so i mess with d defendrs more often with stepovers and it works, that makes me feel so stupid man
it seems easy seeing him do it alone. In a match he gets past 1..2..3 n scores...that too defenders who slide..push etc. Its a simple technique..all of this outside inside dribbling. Its just that he can do it faster n better than anyone else.
@samalextij445 I love both Ronaldinho and Messi, great players who plays with heart, or did. Ronaldinho was the best when he played because he thought it was fun to play, then he got bored and left for Milan and it all went downfor from that day he signed with them.

Well with that no style of his , he had conqurored almost everything 😏, and he is referred as a greatest of all time not only by fans but many great players!
he sould really try to do some stepovers in a game! the enemy would shit himself. no one would expect that from messi ^^ first time i seen him do stepovers
@Kos0va14 Me too. Guess he just doesnt care about tricks/fancy moves, he just wants to get by u. I admire that a lot about the guy. But for the record, R9 (Brasil) = dribble king I find Messi has a more "attacking" dribble, as in he's always going forward, sometimes sideways, almost never backwards. One sec he's there, next sec he's gone. Perfect ball control/superb speed. CR7 has a "freestyle"/flashier dribble. Likes to embarrass the defender, makes them look stupid. Superb ball control/pace.
@alka77200 I don't understand what you just wrote, but i want to make clear that i think that both Messi and Ronaldo are fantastic players. But as i said, Ronaldo makes it too hard for himslef in many situations, i think that he's showboating. He could be a lot better than he already is without it, like Messi, but i don't think he would be better, Messi is just too good and he will continue to be one of the greatest for a long time ahead. Viva football and La liga! I appreciate Madrid&Barcelona
@JimmyBurger it not pointless, are you telling me the likes and luis ronaldo and zidane step overs are pointless, stepovers is to trick the opponent into thinking which way he would go, but c.ronaldo does them pointlessly i agree on that, but the skill it self isnt useless xD
@RullTapet Young Ronaldinho is the best, he could do advanced things without trying to show off and pull them off easily, he was also smart when he played. im not saying Messi isnt great, just Ronaldinho is my fav player so im kinda biased towards him.
First time i seen Messi do a stepover
😀 it's true.
Exactly 😂
Yes....... Me too
Still after 9 years we haven't
yes me too
When you realize he actually never does this. He does something more magical.
This footage so rare... never seen Messi do a step over in my life 🤣🤣. But that’s why he the goat.
0:27 holy shit he did this exact thing agaisnt Baoteng and destroyed the man in ucl
Simple but effective
😂😂
Just too good
Long hair suits Messi way more. The classic Argentina look.
this is the first time i see Messi do stepovers. AWESOME! :)
It still remains the only time even after 10 years
0:17 boateng got famous here
This is one of my life time achievement...i saw messi doing stepover😀
That was smooth like butter
first time i ever saw messi doing step overs
wow..its the first time i see messi doing stepovers XD
This guy can beat defenders without fancy footwork..he accelerate at such great speed..it's difficult to catch him...
❤
His stepover reminds me of Zidane, just flawless foot movement and total ball control. Zidane had ridiculous footwork.

Jeremy Clemmons yo what do you mean? Care to clarify, cause I’m kinda confused. 🤔🤨

stepovers are part of messi's skill set (who'd have thought?!) yet they've become redundant! LEGEND
Messi goat, gênio, the best player the world. Gênio
Isso. Você disse a verdade. Sim. Messi e um gênio
his feet moves very quicly that's why meesi is the best talent in the world.
Messi, what a fine lad I hope he becomes successful one day
I thought when he dribbles he touches the ball with 2 feet. But it's just one! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!
He sometimes does when going quick
O mellhor do mundo. Messi
obs: in the 2015 champions league semi final game he made the first feint against the best defender of the time and covered the best goalkeeper of that time and maybe, one of the best goalkeepers in history he is not from this planet✨️
this guy is the next leo messi for sure.

Nowadays simply the best. That's it.
He still plays better than anyone alive in this planet.
dam when great players like Messi or Kobe plays sports, its like the ball is part of their body it never goes away from them haha
A legend begins from here love you so much 💖💖
he showed his magic trick but still none can stop him!
King Messi
Cooooooll..........sickk......fantastico.........

The only time messi did a step over
He actually shows Ronaldo that I have this kind of skills as well but to be magical I like doing simple dribbling
Who's watching in 2018?
Stepover were smooth
i play just like him now i'm been training for like 6 months those moves and i finally have good control with ball and can cut through players. with hard work you can accomplish anything i can be sure of that.
Where are you now mate?
Its been 9 years fff
I Love Messi
Amazing
Love younf messi love those boot
Efficiency.. personalized
If you notice he slows down right at the last step right before he cuts. It is how to freeze defenders and beat them
it's super
Lionel Messi creates a mess for other players such that no 1 can take ball from him........ He alone can beat 11 players.............
Im wearing his shirt right now the 11/12 season away longsleeve ^_^
im going to say this in spanish cuz idk how to say it in english but la humildad que le falta a cristiano la tiene messi
@RullTapet it's his acceleration that makes the whole difference and the fact that messi is shorter wich makes him very slippery.

They don't say it in this video..but if you like at how hes dribbling... hes almost ALWAYS using his left foot... He never uses his right foot.
ME TOO :D

@stensture I don't think he lost control over it. He still made the inside cut

@logicCplusplus thats sad, cuz messi is the best, they are just blinded not to see that
waht i like about messi is in games is that he dosnt do these kid of stuff. he just gets the ball and say try and get it off me simple as that
