Ardbeg is sweet peat
Lagavulin is oily peat
And Laphroaig is dirty peat :)
Laphroaig 10 is one of my all time favs. I still haven't tried ardbeg 10, Always wanted to try it tho.

Laphroig is the sort of whiskey I love so much that I keep it aside for special occasions and treat my self with it
Would go on a limb to say that it's better than the likes of Glenfidditch.
But then that's just me and my personal preference
Just got the Ardbeg 10 for the first time. Loved it. I feel it's better than Laphroaig, that one is just smoke without much of an aftertaste. Ardbeg on the other hand, lingered in the mouth for much longer. It got much better with a few drops of water, I could easily feel it.
Also, I heard the Laphroaig had stopped production for the past 7 months now. Got to hear this when I went to get the Ardbeg from the salesman at Total Wines, here in the US. Don't know to what extent it's true.

Manish, do try Caol Ila. It blows everything else you mentioned out of the water in terms of smokiness.
Personally i felt laphroaig was way way smokier and had a longer and stronger finish

Which whisky in premium range (Blenders pride, Maqintosh Rockford etc...) gives smoky palate.
Dont think youll get in that range. Cheapest i can think is black label or double black or amrut fusion peated

You could explain why Ardbeg was shut down 5-6 times. Now it is an LVMH brand, and marked up accordingly.
