    So how does this work for a sports jersey? Will it stand up to washings? Is this the best transfer vinyl or do you have a good better best? Thanks!

    This is a great tutorial. I’m a cricut beginner so I’m still learning but I haven’t yet bought the heat press, is the possible to do with a standard iron (turning off steam mode)?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  2 роки тому

      I have not attempted to use a standard iron, but have heard that it doesn't heat press well :(

    Hello, is the printer the same as your daily use or did you get another. I have a ET for sublimation and a regular HP for regular printing. Wondering if I could use the regular printer

    Hey Amy. I know this video is a year old. Hopefully you or anyone in the comments can help. I was recently gifted a hat press. I understand something I researched. But do I have to have a cricut to cut. Can I not cut it myself? Is there anything else to use for vinyl heat transfer? I don't know where to start lol.

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  Рік тому

      Hi Kyro! The Cricut is a cutting machine that cuts the different designs you create in their software, Cricut Design Space. So, if you want a specific text, image, SVG, etc. on your hat, you'll need a cutting machine! The vinyl in this video is printable HTV (where you print images or multi-colored designs on vinyl) but you can also use regular HTV. Hope this helps!

    Hey Amy ☺️ thank you for the video! Could printable heat transfer vinyl also be used for the glass beer cups?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  Рік тому

      I’d suggest not to apply a heat press/HTV to a glass beer cup & use a waterproof sticker instead 🤎 if you need help on that I do have a tutorial here for you (I actually used the glass beer cup) ua-cam.com/video/1F9rRn5WRp0/v-deo.html

    What a great tutorial, thank you. Would it have been wrong to weed the negative space first leaving the design on the paper and then using the transfer paper?

    Does it resist to washmachine?

  • @pattycakes1146
    @pattycakes1146 2 роки тому

    So why wouldn’t you use a sublimation printer for the ink? I feel like the ink would just runoff the shirt since it’s ink used to be printed on paper when you wash it?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  Рік тому

      it doesn't! I don't have a sublimation printer or ink (nor do I have the room for another printer in my office) but the quality has held up since this was posted! If you're looking for a different way, try DTF! It's my most recent UA-cam tutorial - ua-cam.com/video/2F1O_avwq-k/v-deo.html

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  2 роки тому

      Oh no! This can depend on a lot of things like your ink, printer, if you let the ink dry, etc.

    How would I put the design image without the Carrier sheet

    • @itssarosh
      @itssarosh 2 роки тому

      Yes you can, because this is not a printable vinyl at all. This is dark transfer paper/sheet which is not durable.

    I’m confused because I thought in order to get multiple colors you’d have to do layers. Can someone help me understand?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  2 роки тому +1

      hey! that is correct IF you are using HTV vinyl. What I used in this tutorial is HTV Printable Vinyl. As I show you in the video, i print the design on the printer vs buying multiple colors of vinyl and cutting them as separate layers. Hope this helped :)

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  Рік тому

      hi! Not this particular kind - this is printable HTV (iron-on) it's heat activated. You would follow the exact steps for making stickers with label paper (not iron-on). you can check out some of my sticker tutorials here on UA-cam for more help!

    Is the carrier sheet the same thing as trasfer paper?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  2 роки тому +1

      hey Gabriela! transfer tape/paper is used for adhesive vinyl projects ONLY. the carrier sheet is thicker and a protective layer that is “built in” HTV vinyl. i hope this helps! :)

      it does great! The washing/care instructions are shown in the package of the vinyl & I also show them briefly in the video. As long as you follow them it will hold up!

    Do you always have to use a Teflon sheet?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  2 роки тому +1

      In this case with the carrier sheet (the clear sheet), you DON'T have to. But, I usually don't use a carrier sheet with printable HTV vinyl, therefore you will need to use the teflon sheet!!
