Cool to see kids there ten years after they first exploded. I love the deadboys. Big respect to them all from England. Rip stiv you absolute rock'n'roll legend.
man this is a great show . I wish the sound quality could've been a little better but this will work . I love all forms of rock all the way up to the old school death metal . I was the type that didnt get real big into punk rock but I always loved bad brains and the misfits and those were the only punk bands that I listened to growing up , which both bands are most excellent . but I was all hung up in the earlier death metal bands like obituary , deicide , morbid angel and of course cannibal corpse . but now that im 43 im like going back to all these of punk bands and im realising what I been missing and damn it man theres some fuckin great music that I missed out on . when I heard the dead boys song third generation nation I was like how the fuck did I miss this fuckin badass shit ! but im glad I finally discovered this old school classic shit and I will be jammin this shit throughout the day
Outfuckenstanding! Raucous rock and roll saw them at Mudd Club NYC 1979 when I was 15 and 10 th anniversary 1987 at Ritz NYC and again in 88 met my hero's and mentors Stiv and Cheetah backstage and saw the Lord's twice missed cheetah and Johnny when they came to NYC area a year ago! Awesome thanks man Punk Rock!!
So starting at 8:00, performance street fight of Stiv against the crowd, awesome. THIS IS REAL PUNK Y'ALL. These guys all deserve praise for enduring the riot in the audience and still playing like fucking DEMONS.
The Dead Boys had already broken up by 1986 and at that time "Video Bob" and I had a "house video sydtem" in that club. So this had to be 1976. I tecotded Cheata solo in 1982, video on my channel. They are old friends ftom my home town. I also have stills of the "Lords" at the then Palace theater from 1984...including a picture of Stiv and I together backstage.
The Dead Boys reformed in '88 for a couple shows in the Los Angeles area, one of which is on a dvd from MVD. This is most definitely NOT from 1976, when the band didn't really exist yet. They were still in their infancy. Watch the documentary film called STIV.
What a show! Further proof the Dead Boys were one of the all time punk greats. Unless I'm missing it but did they do this show without Jeff Magnum cause I don't see him or hear bass?
I was once in some punk store many years ago and i overheard a guy describing a Dead Boys show on VHS that featured Stiv outter-space high on what looked like several drugs. Said he was wading through his vomit and at one point wrapped tape around his arms and was all kinda fucked up and then he quoted someone else who saw this alleged video as saying "huh, he really IS a dead boy". Does this ring a bell for anyone?
I haven't seen it in years, but I know there's a recording from the late 70s where Stiv is rolling around the stage choking himself with a cable until he vomits and just keeps going.. Apparently that kind of thing was a regular occurrence though so I dunno if I'm thinking of the same video lol
Stiv was ONE of best rocknroll singer ever. RIP.
In the thumbnail Cheetah looks like pinhead from hellraiser, awesome!
Yep 🤣
Cheeta Looks more like Micheal Myers in the thumbnail.
These guys were a force of nature. Especially Stiv.
I was at this show. Absolutely brilliant!
it looks incredible..just the best!!!!
