The resin you are faster with the 70 pound is because the draw is longer. I have checked many bows and when you back them off it lengthens the draw. My Mathew’s V3 at 70# backed off to 60# lengthens the draw 3/8 of a inch and that bow is very parallel .

Kinda slow even for 412 grain arrow. Cool test though. 👍👍

Bows were on Comfort. I'd expect to get mid to upper 260's on Performance. Plenty fast for anything.

Good review. Bowtech do thow have pretty preloaded limbs. I think if you take an Elite or Mathews you would get bigger difference. Had an old Elite ar 60 pound max, backed it out 4 turns down to about 50 and the arrow almost didnt leave the string 😆

@@AbaddonLXXI Average Jack Archery has a similar video with the same result using an Athens Vista 35. I would bet that all modern bows will get the same result, but when I get two Elites of different peak weights in the shop I'll test those as well. Thanks!

I seen someone do this same test on a elite option 6 I think and like this test the results were about the same to me I’d still rather have the 60lb I’m not as young as I used to be so I’d have more down adjustment if I needed

Yeah that’s pretty slow! That’s not the best way to test efficiency, better to shoot a lighter arrow then a heavier arrow to see how much efficiency your bow has. You only shoot 1 bow at a time so comparing it to another doesn’t make the case better or stronger.

I disagree, nothing wrong with those speeds. Bows were on Comfort, would gain approximately 10 fps on Performance. All the critters I've killed, and I've killed a bunch, didn't care how fast or slow my bow was. Almost every shot has been a complete passthrough. I was comparing a 70# bow to a 60# bow to see if there was any difference in speed set to the same draw weight and the results speak for themselves. Thanks for watching!

@@coyotecreekarchery your right I should be more clear. Those speeds are not slow! But they are much slower compared to my PSE, Mathews and Hoyt with the same arrow, poundage, draw length. Your right the animal you killed would not care how fast your arrow was going but the arrow that got to the animal a fraction of a second Kate where the animal turned or got completely out of the way, it probably cared.
