Why not put a towel down in the oil pan so the oil pump bolt has nowhere to go if dropped?
Not a bad idea!
@@LowBoostFilms I was thinking the same thing, but maybe also try a ratchet wrench when installing that bolt. I haven't done this yet but seems like a good way to hold the bolt up in there while still being able to turn it without it falling. And if it does, paper towel as the last resort. Then if that fails, magnet to fish it out? 🤷
@@V8sareslow1yea have the magnet on standby lol
What cam did you use
There’s a link to it in the description. It’s our signature camshaft called “The Track weapon”
Do you think it would be worth adding a steam port vent line for the rear? A lot of people say that cylinder 7 gets hot without it. Also, should you leave your timing cover loose until you can align it with the balancer?
Yea I left it a little loose. My oil pan didn’t move so that makes it easier to align too. That’s a good idea with the steam port. I can add that soon.
@@LowBoostFilms I am at this stage on my C6 cam swap so I am very interested in what you choose. When I was torqueing the ATI balancer, I wrapped my old serpentine belt around the balancer over itself and put the other side of the belt in the rack mounting bolt. That way I could crank it down without turning over the engine.
@@christophershafer5615 good idea, I put it in gear with the e brake on and torqued it down that way. I only go to 200ft lbs, it’s not coming off
That’s what i call finger skills
Hahah yup
You are having too much fun!
I definitely am!
That's crazy cam specs
She’s a ripper!! Perfect for the track
