Colin Clark didn't overstep in any way and as you can see from all of his other work, he's very close with the drivers which is why they all like talking to him on both their good days and the bad ones. The Oliver interview guys for me is totally out of order and in bad taste. You should have given the young lad plenty of time, respect and space in order to first speak to the team and his Dad and go for the interview once he had time to compose himself. Oliver is a very talented young guy who will go far and he has been given a massive opportunity to prove himself with a Factory Team and that’s a load of pressure in itself which is clearly shown here and the young lad has clearly broken down. Given support and time this talented young man will be a future World Champion. Pick your moments carefully guys to grab the interviews, it will enhance your presentations as opposed to making the fans feel uneasy..

Ford is also good, so i would suggest them to join Ford, this is way better it gives friver better car but dont Destroy WRC.. Hunday realy needs to pull it together. Car seemms crap it breaks down constanly. Pros like Tänak can Pull out some speed from it but speed is not most important. car needs to be reliable.
The rear didn't snap, he was carrying a lot of speed and when the car started to slid he didn't try to save it by applying more gas. He went full passenger mode. Totally understandable, these aren't easy things to control. He is young and will come out better from this as well.
Hyundai marketing machine fast tracked him into top category. He clearly isn't ready and should step down into WRC 2 and give a better less connected driver a chance.
Hyundai wanted to do the same that Toyota did with Kalle, but Kalle was a WRC2 champion. I like Oli, but that car deserves a regular point scorer like Sordo or Paddon.

I heard someone talking about how Solberg should let the pace down in order to cross the line in this rally and be more selective where he should go flat out. Sounds like good advice he should have listened to.
The Solbergs are great people and I feel so sorry for them at this time! The Hyundai is not behaving to Oliver’s liking! Nobody has been hurt or killed, so moving on with support is all they can do!
He just needs a year or two in wrc2 i think. Meanwhile Hyundai can possibly fix the snappy behaviour of the rally1 car. Oliver is fast and emotional, he is not a Kalle-Machine. In two or three years they will compete together on a high level i guess / hope.
Brutal interview by Dirtfish. What were they expecting to get from that interview. All about dirtfish and not the driver. And rocks are part of Rallying. They dont put them there. Craig Breen hit one today too.
The rear did not snap as far as i can see, he just took the corner to fast... He keeps making these mistakes to much. A lot to learn for him I would say.
That's what I thought too. In onboard cam footage it seems that he was simply driving too fast and went too wide because of that. If the rear end would've snapped, I think the car would've acted differently to what is seen in the onboard video.

It shows that maybe young people like him may not need to be thrown in to that level (not because he is good or bad driver but the pressure). Really sad to see him feel like that. His father done "worse" and there is so much time ahead of him...
He is 20. Lots of other drivers have been "thrown in" at that age or younger. He just did a stupid mistake, because he was over motivated, and now needs to move on from that. It's normal that, if you do too many of such mistakes, you get under big pressure on the highest level of competition in the sport. You just can't afford to do that.
But how is he supposed to learn if hes not thrown into that level? You dont learn to ride a bike when you have training wheels on. If hes on that level that means theres plenty of people who can see his worth and abilities. People who have experience and know what theyre talking about, not people on the internet who think they know everything about the sport, but if theyre put behind the wheel of a wrc then they wont even get it off the startline

This is very emotional, I really hope they figure out what they can with the car when it comes to it being unstable. Thank you as always Colin for the coverage.
Unstable? Driver error not car error.
must be tough, so young, so much pressure and so much to prove only to fail at the first corner. the sponsors, supporters and everyone who believed in him, i cant even imagine how he must feel.
and then to even have the guts to do a interview right after takes some strength. i just hope this wasn't a big setback for his career and keeps going
Sad for Solberg junior. Can happen to another one mate. Finland has little margin of error on the sides of the roads. Learn from it, get stronger, move on!
What doesn't break you ,makes you stronger.Dont dwell on it Oliver .
Just look forward ,what's done is done .I wish you all the best luck in the world for next time.
Chin up.
No worries Solberg, you just did an amazing performance in Ypres Rally which is a sign that you brought your self confidence back
This is a tragedy! So sad for Oliver. Best of luck lad, get back on and try again, we’re all rooting for you buddy.
Keep your head up! Love from germany
jeeze, poor guy. crashing on the first damn corner, that is soul crushing.
That Hyundai looks hard to drive
It is, even Pros Like Tänak and Neuville have problems with it. And they have been top for years.
@@asjaosaline5987 I am an Neuville fan and If I was him I would try to go to Toyota
@@inakimendizabal9090 Technically i agree with you. But in other hand, it will Kill WRC totally when one team collects too many good drivers.
Man, cmon, head up! Hard moment build strength and future success ! Keep going Oli!
Hyundai marketing machine fast tracked him into top category. He clearly isn't ready and should step down into WRC 2 and give a better less connected driver a chance.
The emotions.... Much respect to you man.. bad luck will end and you'll get on that car stronger n faster
Hyundai wanted to do the same that Toyota did with Kalle, but Kalle was a WRC2 champion. I like Oli, but that car deserves a regular point scorer like Sordo or Paddon.
Oliver, Ignore the keyboard warriors that say your too young or any other naysaying. "Shit Happens”, all we can do is learn from our mistakes and try to do better next time.
It’s unfortunate that the car is cracked up but at least neither of you are injured.
Looking forward to see you be competitive in the future. 🍀
🌎☯️🌍☯️🌏
Really sucks when the bad luck streak seems to carry on. It has to get better! Thanks to the engineers keeping everyone physically unharmed!
Gotta be the best Toyota ad I've watched
Man, I feel bad for this dude. He Just started rallying for 9 second and then crashed.
That was hard to watch but don't give up and stay strong Oli.
Oliver has the talent, remember he is not the only one struggling with the car. I hope he has the chance to prove what he is capable of.
Thats rough 😕 I wonder when he is dropped back to Rally2 to grow for a year or two. This cannot continue for long.
Oliver, stay strong. We believe in you❤️
Heartbreaking sight
You will get there Oli
Never give up
Good luck
Hopefully both are ok. Don’t give up Oliver!
One lesson more, you will use this bad experience for to win new chagenges.
Step by step Oliver!!!
This was great sports journalism all the way.
Good luck man hope to see you back out there asap 🙏🙏hope you’re ok!!
Oliver,I wish the best for your rally career and I dont like the way they continued to interview you when they saw how devastated you were after the crash. Keep your chin up and great things will happen
The young man has so much passion he will find his way.
dude my heart breaks for the guy. fuck, it's so tough on the mental facing all these issues. Keep it up oliver, you got this!!!
Thats one reason why i Love the WRC, lots of authentic truht people and Oliver is oke of them. So sad to see what Happens to him and his co Driver but i think he can learn and look forward to the future with this situation.
Better luck next time dude. Bad things happen, perhaps its just not your day. Don't loose hope!
Brutal interview by Dirtfish. What were they expecting to get from that interview. All about dirtfish and not the driver. And rocks are part of Rallying. They dont put them there. Craig Breen hit one today too.
So much bad luck for Oliver. All know how fast he is, best of wishes to him, and waiting for wins
What does it mean for the rear to "snap"? To me it just looks like a corner taken too fast.
There was no rearend snapping, the guy is a mess emotionally and has no idea what's going on.
Ánimo Oliver!!! Amazing rallye driver...Forza!!!
i feel so sorry for him, its a shame. just very very bad luck :( i always hope noone crashes and makes it to finish.
Wish Oliver luck and hope he will overcome nervous start of his racing career
They promoted him to WRC Way too early. He wasn't even close to being WRC 2 Champion and now driving in WRC? Crazy
Even Sebastian loeb questioned his drive ability after driving the i20.
Went to Ford and won right away . I rest my case .
Hlavně že jste v pořádku...a zdraví...😪❤👍
The rear did not snap as far as i can see, he just took the corner to fast... He keeps making these mistakes to much. A lot to learn for him I would say.
My take too lol
That's what I thought too. In onboard cam footage it seems that he was simply driving too fast and went too wide because of that. If the rear end would've snapped, I think the car would've acted differently to what is seen in the onboard video.
@@micarone watch it in slow motion, its controlled on entry and on line but then the back end just starts rotating more even though hes on the racing line then it just seems to keep rotating and pulling the car round, soon as it went round enough to get out of line on the loose he was gone! Yes he knows the cars a dog so its partly his fault for tempting fait but I can understand why he wanted to push. That Hyundai is a danger to the drivers at this point! Also the talent management in Hyundai just doesn't exist, loubet is proof of that
Go go go Oliver! this are the risk you have to take when you wanna be the fastest!, learn from the mistakes, self confident and a lot of hard work it`s the way to achive it! Go on!!!
What a ridiculous pathetic weak comment.
Men will simply keep trying until success.
Driving wrong league. Should be rally 2 cars.
Dude Rovanpera is almost same age and is dominating.
You will comeback way stronger Oliver .. your a Fantastic young WRC driver
Young lad, he'll come back even stronger after that. He def. has the right specs for it, if you know what I mean.
the i20 is such an undrivable car
Wtf do you know about it's drivability, exprience much? Ott is doing just fine
@@mantelikukkapenkki2368 Ott is doing Fine couse he has more experience, but he also fight with car. Driver shoulnt fight with car, car should obey every command. If you have seen Tänak, with car what is obeying his will you would see difference. Tänak and Neuville barely have control over car, and we cant expect that from young Solberg he has less experience.
@@asjaosaline5987 "Solberg he has less experience" That's right, he shouldn't be in a wrc1 car in a first place. He's a boy and you don't put boys to do a man's job.
@@mantelikukkapenkki2368 you say "ott is doing just fine" like he isnt raging about how shit the car is in every race.
@@mantelikukkapenkki2368 Ott HATES the car. These are some of Ott's stage-end quotes from Rally Finland so far:
SS1: "In this stage we were fighting with the car, it's living its own life."
SS2: "For sure it's not comfortable in the car, but that's the only way we can go at the moment."
SS4: "It's a bit tricky. My hands are shaking a bit after a run like this. I'm not enjoying it."
SS7: "Obviously I am taking risks. In some places I feel okay, but in others you get surprises and you feel like you are slow."
SS9: "In this one it was a bit loose and softer than I expected and the car felt a bit lazy."
SS10: "In this stage I tried to go a bit faster, but then the mistakes start to come. It's been a tiring day and my battery is quite flat. Bed is waiting!"
Those are the things he's saying about the car even while winning.
DON'T GIVE UP! We believe in you
We? I think you're the only one left...
@@mantelikukkapenkki2368 i don't think so... Everyone in our lives had troubles and Need to find the streght to come out ... He's a boy , very young, with an enourmus job to execute
@@130668 You're right, he is a boy and you don't put boys to do men's work.
Cheer up man, you're still a great driver as well as the rest of your family, just bad luck, could happen to anyone
Heartbraking scenes. Looks like Oliver is out of his league and he should regroup, build his confidence or think of something completely different. It's a rookies mistake. Took the corner fast as you should. Then he lifted and let the car go wide. Everyone crashes but a professional driver does not crash like this.
Tell that to Seb Loeb in Portugal this year.
@@igrok__1 I'd like to see incar footage of that crash.
The car is crap basically, they've lost their way after Adamo left.
He's going to come back strong eventually. Totally heart breaking
Solberg's performances this year and his emotions in this interview beg the question, is he really comfortable in a WRC car? The impression he gives off is of a person who's being pushed too hard by other people, maybe even beyond his talent, to do something that he is not able to do at the current moment.
Sorry to see you out like this Oliver was hoping you have a great rally but just come back fighting harder
I feel so bad for him. Such a nice guy :/
This happened in 2021 aswell?? Or am I mistaken?
Heartbreaking but early days for Oliver. Mistakes will be made when on the limit😬
Oliver, never stop trying, you are so talented and have years ahead of you, never give up! 👍
The highs and lows of rallying are extreme , as his father knows , dig deep , I wish you well !
Keep going Oliver. It was never going to be easy.
