he's literally one of the most genuine and down to earth people in the world... absolutely love phil keaggy... he made me pick up a guitar in the first place... and now he's making me pick up a route 66
I am not the same person since I heard Phil Keaggy play his heavenly sounds! Since then I've been playing the guitar myself for over 30 yrs. Thanks Phil, for the incredible gift that you've let the earth enjoy!
How encouraging and good it is to see a seasoned master guitarist acknowledge Jesus Christ and being zealous to give glory to God Who gave him his talent! Thank you Mr. Keaggy for being a blessing to the Body of Christ and an inspiration to guitarists! May our Father bless and keep you and your family! may the LORD be glorified in our lives till the day we die! See in Heaven dear brother, if I don't get to meet you before that time.
Gerhard Stander dear sir ; I couldn't agree more.to acknowledge his Maker and to bless those of us who have such a privilege to enjoy his music. it certainly points to who Jesus is. Wow , what a treat !!
Keagy is as crisp as it comes. Finger pickin master on that beautiful Olson guitar. Mastery at its ultimate. I love that Phil is at the forefront of guitar technology.
I have been going down the Phil Keaggy UA-cam rabbit hole after having been a huge fan of his particularly in my younger days. Not only is he the king of the guitar, he has also become the king of guitar dad jokes. Love it, and him!
All who know me know I am a Keaggy freak. In 2001, I wasn't sure I'd live to see 2002. I had wanted to see Phil before I passed away if that was going to be my reality. Phil came to Austin and that day I felt as bad as one could feel and where he was playing pretty far away but I went anyway. A great few hours to take my mind off of things but here we are, 2016 and we both are still trucking. God Bless Mr. Keaggy. God talks to me through your music. Here comes the Son!
Sweet. Good play getting this master on board to review. He makes everything sound good - I've never watched a pedal review all the way through before.
It's funny, not ha ha funny but, very strange how you can "feel" the clarity of a person's soul through the music he creates...I am mesmerized watching this gentleman..enraptured...he just literally "reeks" with "giftedness"...it is astounding what music does for the spirit and soul...especially when it lacks "commercialism" and is just played and enjoyed for the sake of itself...PRICELESS
No one else plays like this. Except maybe those who have sat under his tutoring. He will always be my favorite guitarist. The first time i saw him was in 1973,and i am still blown away at his virtuosity.
well said I have been watching him since his early days at Love Inn in freeville NY back in the 70s...he is my favorite...and he is a great guy..he will talk with you..he is very humble..but phenominal
Glory to God...been searching for a very talented man of God guitar player for years and now I've Phil Keaggy. I would put him on par with people like Tommy Immanuel. Phil has been and will be my new inspiration in playing my guitar with more creativities for the glory of God.
Wow......Love it! What a great talent .....Ask your self this? Can You play what He can? Just try it.........I don't think so.......What a blessing this Man is.......to play for God.......
oh dang, he's playing "Just the Same" there at the beginning. One of my favorite riffs. And "Like an Island" later. And everything in between! The man has actually gotten better in the past fifteen years, and I did not think such a thing was possible. Also, what the heck were those capos with the buttons on them? That's insane.
Is it possible to play through the Dual Tap Delay with a dryer sound than what is heard in this video? In all the videos I've watched I always hear the 'Shimmer' effect (or ambient sound for anyone else reading this comment) of the buffer. Always a pleasure to see and hear Mr. Keaggy play. Great pedals too!
If you're talking about the piece, it's from the CD In The Qiet Hours and the selsection is called As It Is In Heaven. Some really other worldly acoustic moments on that CD...Well, duh
Only Phil Keaggy creates must-see 13 minute gear demos like this. And only Phil can make me want a[nother] Dual Tap Delay on my acoustic board to match its electric board brother.
Anyone know what the the song is a 9:12? Is there an actual recording on a cd or album? Love that song! Even though the guy with the shaker is way off beat.
In a 1970s Rolling Stone magazine interview with Jimi Hendrix, he was asked how it felt to be the best guitar player on the planet? his response "i dont know, you would have to ask Phil Keaggy!
If i could have any delay pedal that would fit both my electric and my acoustic playing, it would be the dual tap......too bad im a poor college student.....
What a gift Phil Keaggy is to the world of music!!
He's definitely a gift, a vessel of music from God.
he's literally one of the most genuine and down to earth people in the world... absolutely love phil keaggy... he made me pick up a guitar in the first place...
and now he's making me pick up a route 66
this guy seems to have unlimited inspiration

Can you even imagine the heavenly choir and the worshippers at God's throne? Soon, yes very soon we are going to see the king.
Very very humble man Phil. But what an anointed musician. Love the sound and smooth playing. He should have been heard more. God bless him.

Haven't heard from Phil Keaggy in years. Great sounds then, great sounds now. Thanks for showcasing him and your pedals.

i didnt even know he was missing like half of his finger!!!! What a player!
So true. Couldn't express it better myself.
Just love it at 9:09......... Wish He had a cd recording of that tune.......

For an amazing guitar player he is beyond humble.
Amazing playing. I love all your videos, Visual Sound, thanks for the uploads. :)
Beautiful tones and playing!
Wow, this guy can play some beautiful music. All to the glory of God!
The man knows his craft! He does it very well!
Always inspired to hear great players, with great gear, playing to glorify God !
Like it comes straight from God, into Phil, and flows out onto the strings.
8:44 was a beautiful progression. At 11:14 did he tune to an open tuning by ear? Crazy!
Keaggy is the Man!
Wow......Love it! What a great talent .....Ask your self this? Can You play what He can? Just try it.........I don't think so.......What a blessing this Man is.......to play for God.......
He is one of the all-time great musicians. Zac
Awesome! good sounding guitar too!!!!!
ALL to the Glory of GOD. that says it all. God gave him a gift and he shares it with the world. You Rock Phil

Keaggy playing through his Olson + that Visual Sound Delay = oh, so good!
Soli Deo Gloria
He's like in a class all by himself. I wanna learn the light touch technique he does to get that bright high note.
Truly an amazing player!
If you're talking about the piece, it's from the CD In The Qiet Hours and the selsection is called As It Is In Heaven. Some really other worldly acoustic moments on that CD...Well, duh
This dude is a BEAST!!!!!
Phil is a master! I love my VS pedals, I wish I could make them sound as good a Phil.
Phil is an amazing musician, all to the glory of God.

At 10 minutes into the song.... Wow.... That few minutes...... Where does that come from?.... Heaven?....
At 9:13...Wow! to 10:53...... I would buy this song! Amazing! Just so awesome....
He great playin really enjoyed it :)
One question what brand is that telly?
This isn't a demo. It's a show.
At 11:58..... incredible....Absolutely beautiful.
I agree completely it's a shame that dark hearts can appreciate the beauty of it
that acoustic sounds heavenly
Amazing!
Wow this guy can play! And he is all for JC Amen to that!
Grande Phil, un gran compositor, de gran calidad y sonido. Si el lo usa es porque sabe.
that acoustic sound heavenly
Anyone know what the the song is a 9:12? Is there an actual recording on a cd or album? Love that song! Even though the guy with the shaker is way off beat.
one of the best, bar none.
That steel string sounds unbelieveable! (Phil too).
In a 1970s Rolling Stone magazine interview with Jimi Hendrix, he was asked how it felt to be the best guitar player on the planet? his response "i dont know, you would have to ask Phil Keaggy!
@juanimuller that phil keaggy sounds heavenly.
Can he demo all gear from now on?
Anyone know what song He is playing at 9:11 ? To totally awesome...
4:00 and following is some of the most beautiful guitar music anywhere. Does anyone know what song that is? Thanks for posting.
Like an Island is the song..... " Getting Closer " is the Cd by Pkil Keaggy.....
Thank you.
@IPushHard Phil is the greatest and most underrated guitar player in history, this is him being laid back. He didn't vut lose for this demo so much.
What!!! Phil! Where's your McPherson Acoustic????
What is the felt or leather strip bound over the strings at the nut for.
Kill unwanted overtones
What's the name of song un the minute 4:12 ??? Help me
what kind of fender is that electric?
What are the pickups in that tele?
great lick at 2:15
Master
does anybody know what song is 12:35
+sergeevspredator I think he is improvising.
+Truetone that progression is just so amazing
As it is in heaven - track 11 on the album "In the quiet hours"
If i could have any delay pedal that would fit both my electric and my acoustic playing, it would be the dual tap......too bad im a poor college student.....
Excuse me while I go burn my guitar.
I hope you didn't.
If everyone who couldn't match Phil's giftedness burned their guitars there would only be a handful left....
you are confusing string harmonics with echo, a similar sound but not the same thing at all
Who are the four poopers who disliked this video?
Exactly, who in the world would do that? Sometimes people do it by mistake though.
tommy uses pedals , he cant achieve echo without echo
"What kind of guitar is this...?" It look like a green anaconda to me.
The electric is a Guitar Mill instrument, made here in the Nashville area. Zac
Yeah but can he play metal????
But in all fairness amazingly talented player beyond words!
@sirflyguy2000 picks better with 4 fingers and no pick than most people with 5 fingers and a pick.
same here. just I'm not any good at it. lol.
Tommy Emmanuel can do this without pedals lol. Great artist though. I'm a new fan. Pedals or not.
