Was Daemon cold blooded? His wife had her spine broken, if she lived she would be a total cripple and she surely would have preferred death. So were her further taunts a bit of a nod to Arya and the Hound and Daemon grants her wish to die, knowing that it also an advantage for him? Many didn't like this start of the episode but I did! Lemon trees don't grow in Braavos..red door with the lemon tree, neither could another sub tropical flowering shrub grow there, yet this shrub is growing very well in a region where it actually should! I think that it is the message here.
They made it a point in episode 1 to emphasize the scent of the dragon left on the dragon rider. If Daemon rode his dragon to see Rhea, then the horse would have smelled the dragon. If a horse is not accustomed to the dragon smell, might that cause the horse to buck? Daemon can look like he's trying to calm the horse while actually frightening it. (A lot of "ifs" there.) There's a lot of Alicent hate that is not deserved based on the events we have seen. Lots of conjecture and theorizing without evidence to support it. Considering the criticism Alicent has received thus far, I'm looking forward to seeing how Rhaenyra fans react to future events -will they apply the same standards? Once again, we are falling into a trap set by GRRM. This is a story of how misogyny and patriarchy pits two women against each other -- and that's what is happening in the fandom. Why do we have to take sides? We don't... but we are. The halo effect on Daemon fans is fun to observe as well. He's a terrible person in the show. And, no, murdering your wife savagely with a rock while she is paralyzed is not a "mercy killing." It's just murder. Alright, bring on the onslaught of angry comments. 😉 Glad to have a community with whom to have these experiences! Thanks for the video and the conversation!
And.. This comment here is showing your bias for Alicent. The actions we seen??.. We seen Alicent betray her friend by not telling Rhanerya.. If she didn't wanna marry the King, then all she had to do was tell Rhanerya that her dad sent her to hang out with him.. If she told Rhanerya that anytime within that LONG ASS PERIOD OF TIME, then Rhanerya would've put an end to them hanging out and she would've never married the King. But. She didn't. She betrayed her friend and lied to her friend..But now Alicent hates Rhanerya for lying to her?? I mean.. It's not as if Rhanerya lied to her about fkn her Dad..you know..like Alicent did. It is weird watching everyone's bias show.. Weird how people will defend their bias, no matter what.. Because at the end of the day, they're all evil.. But it's the power play by the Hightowers that's responsible for all of it.. Period. Had Otto not sent his daughter in to be a whore for the King, then NONE of this would've happened. But... That gets ignored, right?.. Lol of course.
Also.. A LOT of it stems from the fact that Alicent is a WAY more power hungry in the books, and doesn't have the same motivations.. Knowing just how responsible SHE was for everything in the books makes it harder to have any sympathy for her or Crispin. And I GUARENTEE that when we pick back up with them, Crispin and Alicent will have some type of sexual relationship.. Which will just make the hypocrisy even worse.
I don’t get why everyone thinks Rhea Royce is so great. I found her throughly obnoxious, and taunting him at the end was so absolutely asinine. I don’t think she deserves to be murdered, however, lol. And even though she has a small part, you could tell the actress is a good one. I continue to be totally impressed with their casting choices.
