Thx for the review. My dentist just told me about this product because my CPAP gives me the worst dry mouth and after 2 days of use I found that it does work but I still wake up after about 2 hours and just take my tongue and move the gel around then I fall back to sleep. I can get 7-8 hours of relief using 2 XyliMelts. I asked my CPAP doctor and they had NO CLUE so I don't know why there even doctors if they can't help there patience.
I can see how you would need something like this using a CPAP machine. They should give a starter box of XyliMelts with each CPAP so patients can see if it is useful for them.
Love this product, I have had dry mouth for past 2 years, doctors can't tell me why, I feel it's due to a root canal. It's been hell, this has been the only thing to bring me relief. cant live without it.
Do you happen to have dry eyes, too? If so, you might have Sjögren's Syndrome. An eye doctor can diagnose if you have dry eyes, and my dentist was the one who wondered what I'd done with my teeth/diet. I've had it for over 20 years. I'm going to try these Xylimelts. I'm continually having stuff go wrong with my teeth due to dry mouth. If you do have Sjögren's, you'll want to see a Rheumatologist.
Thanks for making this video. I've had very dry mouth for a long time without realising that there's products that can help alleviate it. Yesterday I bought a bunch of different products for dry mouth, and slept with the XyliMelts in. It works like you said, and I'm definitely getting more of them before I run out. Although, I do wake up several times at night, because I produce so much saliva that I'm not used to the sensation anymore!
So glad they worked out for you. I am now buying them in the bottle (100 in each.) One bottle lasts me about 6 weeks. I will see what my dentist says at my next cleaning/exam.
@@parristx Hopefully it's all clear! I was prescribed a toothpaste with extra flourine to prevent holes, but despite having a dry mouth for a long time, I haven't had any holes anyway. Wish you all the best! :)
Thanks for making this video I had trouble reading the instructions but thanks to you that problem has been solved I will see how this goes it’s my medication that causes the dry mouth during the day is the worst for me.
Just started having some dry mouth issues, haven't figured out why but these things really help. I absolutely love biotene products, especially spray and mouthwash, but Xylimelts are great for long lasting relief. I actually saw CVS has their own product that was $9.50 as opposed to the name brand at $11.50
Great review. Thanks! Trying these tonight. I have extremely dry mouth at night because of CPAP (and probably meds side effect). It's exactly how you described, I wake up with my mouth bone dry, cheeks sticking to gums. Such a pain. Hoping I will sleep better tonight. :-)
@@parristx Yes, they work great so far. I keep them beside my bed and put a new one on during the night once the first one disappears as one doesn't last a full sleep. Very helpful though and pretty unobtrusive. 😊👍
I was given anti-sickness meds that were similar to these but you put them under your top lip at the front. Supposed to dissolve over 2 hours but it actually took 4 hours and didn't have any antisickness effects. This is such a cool idea, wonder if they have them in the UK
I have heard of seasickness patches that go on your skin for extended release- but not the ones you mention that slow-dissolve in the mouth. These XyliMelts have been great for me.
@@parristx oh these weren't for travel sickness, I ended up in hospital on IV meds eventually. Then ended up tripping balls on some stuff begining with K... Not fun lol.
Hi, I just pop in a 1/2 -3/4 1inch button, make sure you Have one with 4 holes which can still allow you too breathe if you ever happen to accidentally swallow it! Never have it in your mouth at bedtime!!!! The Button is placed between the cheek and the teeth, it works the same way as xylimelts. I also live in UK and have found nothing to help. buttons have been a life saver for me, as before buttons, my mouth used to dry up so bad I could hardly talk!!! Regarding night time I Watched a video that teaches you how to keep your mouth closed sleep whilst you sleep! Regrettably I can not find remember the videos title. BTW I've suffered from dry mouth nearly 15 years!
July 2024 Xylitol and similar artificial sweeteners, like erythritol, have recently been linked to blood clot formation and increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
Yes, that news surprised me. Fortunately I have finished my Lupron treatment that was causing my dry mouth so I no longer need the XyliMelts but if I do need them again in the future I will have to research the risk/reward of using them.
@@parristx I have Sjogren's, so my dry mouth isn't going away. My gut cannot tolerate any amount of xylitol. I'm hoping this development will encourage manufacturers to produce dry mouth relief that actually works and doesn't contain xylitol.
Hi there! I was watching anything and everything about xylitol and your video came up. This is an interesting invention i've never heard of. So far, I've only been eating xylitol mints and gum. Are you still using this till today and no more cavities after?
I love these but I had to stop using them as of 3 days ago... they have absolutely damaged my gums, I used 4-5 a day for a couple months and whenever I used them my gums would turn a deep red color and become very irritated and recede slightly, but they worked great for my dry mouth! I can clearly see 2 round indents in my gums in the spots that I would stick them, really hoping it isn't permanent and I haven't done serious damage.
I keep waking up with dry/sore throat multiple times through the night,, these sound interesting im going to try them, do you think they could help so that i dont wake up with dry/sore throat? Thankyou
Hmm, I could see how they might help a dry throat by having you swallow more during the night. You might want to check with a doctor to what the cause is of your problem- they may have some other solution. And I wonder if running a humidifier in the room might help also if the air is very dry where you are at. I hope you find something that works for you.

Good question- and I was worried about that when I first started using them. I don't have a definitive answer but I haven't had it happen. Sorry I can't be more reassuring. Maybe you could contact the company with that question?

Try sticking them on your tooth. Gum tissue is sensitive.
Have your gums healed?

I had to look back at my fitness tracker data- I lost four pounds over the four months of chemo.
