@@nprudtatorn The vaseline kinda soakes into the paper. No residues, I mean you can't feel the vaseline... I let it dry for a few minutes before adding colors... love, E

Came across your video. I’m rapidly losing my vision and it’s gotten extremely frustrating trying to draw things naturally. I thought stamps were “cheating”-at this point, I just want to keep painting. And you have completely changed my mind on how stamps look-this is stunning!
Ohh my dear... I feel both happy and sad reading your comments... Sad because I soooo feel for you regarding your eyesight. I just wish you don't loose it all together... ohhh, my heart goes out to you!! On the other hand, I'm so happy that you find my way of useing stamps something you might consider... I dicovered Laninia Stamps in April 2021, so I've just done this for a few years myself. Fuseing stamps and watercolors is sooo much fun, and almost all my pieces is like this now. If you really want to try this technique, I highly recommend Lavinia Stamps. I find them sooo detailed and delicate.... If you check my Playlist here at Del Bello's, you'll find that I di a lot of nature inspired pieces, and you being a watercolor artist should start with some of the lovely trees, foliage and flowers they have...just a suggestion from me, tho.... Thank you so much... If it's the first time you use salt, a little tip would be to make a swatch first, with different colors, light and dark and different wetness of the paper. This way you would see how the salt reacts with YOUR colors..... hope this helps...otherwise, please feel free to pm me, and I will help you every way that I can... much love, Elisabeth

Hi there Rita... the vaseline makes a resist, look at the video from 5:28.... you can see I put a little amont of vaseline on a block and tap my stamp gently into it, then stamp it on the card. At 7:00 the video shows what happens when I add water and color: the vaseline resist the colors and the dandelions "stands" out (video at 8:42).... hope this helps.... hugs, Elisabeth
