Thanks Liz for all your clever bookmark tips. Lately I have been creating zentangle watercolour bookmarks which I love because they take on a life of their own. You have inspired me to keep it up. Thank you. ❤
Thank you so much for another bookmark video! I have been in a dry spell with crafting after a broken wrist and a move to a new home and this is the first thing I feel motivated to try. It is not overwhelming but so creative! I will donate them to our library.
Hello Liz, I’ve been watching your videos for about a month now. Brilliant and yesterday I had a go at 4 bookmarks. With literally no artistic talent I actually made something I am really proud of. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m just venturing into the realms of art journals too. 😊🎉
These are stunning! I too have the same addiction and donate to my local library - they are so grateful for the artistic , one-of-a-kind creations. Thank you so much for sharing this here!
I'm on my 3rd batch of 4. Your ideas are inspiring, and people love them. They are selling like hotcakes . Thank you. I watch a lot of your videos. I'm new to watercolor. I usually work in acrylic.
You are amazing! such a creative mind. The way you showed this step by step I feel so encouraged to try this process! I'd like to know what is "washy tape"? And your napkins are so pretty!
Lovely. I’ve watched 3 of your bookmark videos, just ordered the tassels and Ohuhu paint markers. I have 2 sets of Ohuhu alcohol markers but I do so love watercolor and marking! It’s so relaxing. Thank you for sharing 💕
Love this idea ❤ So happy UA-cam thought I would enjoy your channel! I’ve just discovered (after 53 years of believing myself to be completely unartistic) that I rather love watercoloring. This is the perfect way to experiment!!
Thank you Liz. I think this tutorial has provided me the impetus I needed to get back into watercolour painting. Since my late mother's passing I simply have not felt motivated to paint. I think this is the perfect way to get back into it.
I love, love these videos on bookmarks! I've bought the corner cutter, and some Dorland's wax. My first ones I did with watercolor, but then I tried Brusho. Have you used that? It's a powder you sprinkle on, then spritz with water, and you get the most incredible bursts of color. I think I own 30 different colors of Brusho. Makes fantastic bookmarks! Now I want to try the collage. Oh, and I have a lot of washi tape... Your first video on bookmarks was how I found you.
Wonderful ideas. Beautiful work. I’m wanting those markers now. Ohuhu? Lol. I love the sound of rain…. And your voice. I’d much prefer your accent over mine any day …..
Hi there liz, just come across your channel in my feed and subscribed straight away. So appealing. The bookmarks are just the answer when your face with that blank white space syndrome. Fabulous. Jayne, Ramsgate. X
I made my first one, and it was so much fun, I’ve been trying to collect ideas for more! I’m happy I found you!! Also, I just bought a laminator, so I can seal my bookmarks in plastic. (Haven’t done that part yet.)
@@LizChadertonStudio I used the laminator, and it’s wonderful. I’m a watercolor artist, and there are times when I just want to paint something small. These are such great gift ideas, too.
I haven't done one yet and ordered a few supplies in May - more are coming tomorrow. I was wondering, doesn't the adhesive you used for collage mess with the watercolor? It didn't seem to ... I'm loving these, Liz - thank you! Linda H
No, it seems okay, though it could if you went back and forth a lot. To be honest it is only stripes of colour so if they smeared a bit, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Just be gentle
ok thanks Im now a bookmark junk lol oh I shouldn't have what the first one, then the second and now this one. ok just a question for you "what do I do with all these book marks? lol Now if I can just get my family to read real books instead of downloading them I be doing great for Christmas and birthdays for the next few years. but I will say they do look pretty in my journals and I use some in my sketch books to help me find my favorites pages.
Hi Liz, thank you for re-igniting my desire to do some painting. Could I ask I haven't used the wax before...if you scale this up to say a 8x10 or bigger for framing would you still use the wax if you were going to frame under glass? (I hope this makes sense!)
if it’s under glass no need to wax. The wax is an environmental protection instead of the glass. This gives you an idea for larger pieces: ua-cam.com/video/5viz8wXzVhc/v-deo.html
Very nice bookmarks Liz, thanks for sharing! Could you also seal them with Matt Medium? I'm very new to that material, do you have any experience with it and know if it works for sealing things? Thank you!
Hi Liz! Well I took a try today for the first time doing these! I know it will be fun as soon as I become accustomed to the technique. I wanted to aks about glueing the napkin down. I put just a little spot of glue where I wanted it to adhere and then used the hard part of the brush to keep in place, but I noticed that if I did not keep quite a bit of glue on the brush it could tend to not adhere and would stick to the brush, and then of course, the natural reaction is to panic and go stick my finger on it, well, i think you know what I'm getting at! LOL a sticky shredded napkin. So....my question is do you use a special brush for the glue? Do you wet the brush first before using the glue? I am using the PVA glue. Thank you again for any insight. Terri
I am pretty generous with the glue, as it dries clear, so I spread a bit beyond the area I want to stick so the edges go down. I place the napkin and do not move it. One opportunity to avoid soggy mess! I then use a soft gluey brush and gently go over it to make sure it’s down. I don’t use a special brush, but go for a soft rather than hard one. tbh I haven’t ever had a prob unless I try to move the napkin when wet.
Thanks Liz for all your clever bookmark tips. Lately I have been creating zentangle watercolour bookmarks which I love because they take on a life of their own. You have inspired me to keep it up. Thank you. ❤
Wonderful! I have more videos on bookmarks scheduled over the next couple of months too

yes, you can certainly do that. I like the more ‘naked’ look!

Sounds great!

Washi tape is Japanese originally - patterned paper sticky tape

I enjoy Brusho but it gets EVERYWHERE! I also find it’s quite hard to seal, so do check it won’t stain your book. But such gorgeous effects
Love this!! Looking through old music sheets since now I have everything on the iPad. 😊
Lucky you. I love music in collage

I give them to friends instead of birthday cards. some people hide them in library books or gift them to libraries so they can sell to raise funds….
