I was at this show. So happy to find this. Every lineup of this band from start to finish is magic and Neil Finn is among the greatest songwriters of my generation.
Neil Finn is a bona fide musical genius. Their music catalogue is magnificent. I saw them at Massey Hall in Toronto and it was one of the bets concerts I've ever seen. They are musicians first and foremost.
Saw them 10 days later at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Was lucky enough to meet Matt Sherrod briefly before the show. Fortunate to have seen them a few times. Always an outstanding show.
Love this. I think the names of all the musicians needs to be listed. Hole in the River” gives me goosebumps. Loved this concert. I first saw crowded house when you were doing a try out the new band mini tour of Oz, in adelaide, 86? 87? for 300 people in a nightclub, Eddie Rayner on organ at the time. Felt privileged to be there (then and the memory of it, now). All the songs went on to be on the first self titled album, international hits, but we were hearing them for the first time, and as good songwriting does, they were loved instantly. RIP Paul Hester.
