I started a piece similar to this a few weeks ago, but with many more tiny pieces and they overhang on both sides and each other so you can't even see the canvas. I used craft sticks that I split into several pieces each and painstakingly glued each one onto the canvas. I also did a similar one using craft paper, overlapping each other to make a wavy surface over the entire canvas, my favorite one by far.

Working with craft sticks and craft paper to create overlapping, three-dimensional compositions can result in stunning and unique artworks. @@SergioAranda Oh I will keep pushing boundaries, I love a good challenge. My current project is a whale sculpture in 3D made with recycled materials such as paper and wire and I'm using lots of textures with spackle and sand. I intend to make a glass eye for him in my kiln.
