Counterpoint: Kyptonians are superpowered when they absorb yellow sunlight, whereas a Viltrumites' Power is everpresent, it is absolutely concievable that someone as ruthless as Thragg could engineer circumstances where he wins that fight. Remember the immortal words of the late Stan Lee, whoever the author wants to win will win, they will find a way.

wrong. kryptonians have a fatal weakness. that fundamental weakness renders them vulnerable to the viltrumites who possess no weaknesses. you can't just imagine their best abilities against each other. you also have to incorporate their critical weaknesses if any. and when it comes to kryptonians, they drew a short straw when it comes to planetary scale power.

well, Thragg was damaged equally. All you saying is if Battle Beast took advantage of weaken state of Thragg then he'd win. That not that much an achievement (even what really happend in comic is more impressive than what you suggesting)

Well, it depends. Remember, Zod wasn’t nearly as powerful as Superman during their first fight because zod didn’t grow up on earth like Clark did. Zod did not have the luxury of being charged up by earths sun for however long Clark had been on earth.
Thragg is in a complete state, meaning his power is at its peak. So I think, it would be a lot closer than a lot of people realize. Specially if thragg fights a Zod that is still not fully charged by the sun and still resorts to jumping instead of flying.

You also forgetting, Zod mindset, Zod is a general, from a world of ranks, and Zod was trained to be a general from birth, which means he can keep a cool head in battle, even if he starts to lose, him and superman, supergirl can think faster then others heroes or villains
jeez, you are ignorant. any hero with superspeed would think fast. its the only way superspeed works. your brain state has to match your physical state otherwise you would not be able to control your body for general articulation needed to manuver or fight or interact with the environment. ergo Viltrumites think in superspeed as well.
Also Thragg is a master tactician since he's at least 6,000 years old and not to mention he's conquered planets for most of those years, becoming Grand Regent around 2-3 thousand years prior to when he was first shown in the comics. I'm not disputing the strength difference or even the durability difference I'm disputing the idea that Zod is a smarter fighter or tactician or leader, personally on that level i believe they are relatively quite different as i just googled Zods age he's about 40 or 50 (if im wrong please correct me) so Thragg is a better general and general tactician as he is thousands of years older than Zod.
@@charlesdoran2832 absolutely agree. but i actually don't think there is, even remotely, good enough evidence that Zod is physically more powerful than Thragg. when you account for the fact that Zod is not Ka-el (and most of the claims of kryptonian feats are based on Kal-el, who grew up under a yellow sun...which Zod did not), then you account for the varied writers who wrote superman for 70 years, from from the outright silly to the grounded, from the absurdly lacking in realism to the realistic, also account for misunderstanding that readers take away from the unrealistic writers of superman, then account for the difference between a pg13 DC universe and a more adult Invincible universe, when you examine all that, you come away with realising Viltrumites are actually stronger than Kryptonians, with Kal-el, and specifically only Kal-el, capable of matching them or exceeding them.
@@ericaugust1501 thats an interesting point, but Zod has beaten or at least injured superman on several occasions believe me i wish that viltrumites were superior to kryptonians but they aren't simply because of their feats being compared, granted some of supermans feats were a bit wacky like sneezing away an entire solar system but it's still canon as for invincible he's capable of destroying planets not solar systems. As i said before Zod and Superman were able to go toe to toe which must mean they're on a similar plain of strength even though superman holds back. In my opinion, I still think Zod would beat Thragg physically but probably couldn't outsmart him, an interesting match up would be Allen the alien vs Zod, what are you thoughts on it?
@@charlesdoran2832 i will just add when you said 'so that is canon on wacky superman feats'. if we take everything as canon, we also have to take superman as being pretty weak as canon, like he was in the 50s 60s and 70s. thats the problem with superman, he is not a consistent character. canon of weak, or canon of strong, its all canon. Invincible has be benefit of a single writer, and concept so the species is consistent from start to finish (more or less). trying to canonize an inconsistent character has be an exercise of discarding some, and keeping the more sensible.
as for Zod vs Superman... writers need to create tension i suppose, so the story might not make sense. i'd have to examine the Zod vs superman issues were Zod wins to see where the writers messed up the character continuity. the point is, in a very inconsistent character, just because it happened, doesn't mean its canon. sometimes it just the fever dreams of some bad writer.
well, i don't know too much about Allen or the ending of the series (avoiding spoilers for the tv series, so resisting the temptation of reading the comics), but from the small temptations i have succumbed to, since Allen was an attempt to create someone stronger than the viltrumites, and it initially failed, and it required his 'second' evolution to perhaps match them, he would lose? arguably if Allen could have beaten Thragg, the series would not have needed Invincible, so from a plot point of view Allen should not be able to beat Thragg, and if he can't beat Thragg, and people claim Zod can beat Thragg... well, then Allen would fail :)

Zod can't FTL even close to what a Viltrums can. Thragg would absolutely thrash Zod to pieces. Can avoid all lasers, is stonger, has thousands of years of fighting and destruction experience. Zod has zero idea of Viltrums weakness.
Thragg would grab Zod at FTL+ and tosses him into a black hole within seconds.

As for speed? since Zod matches superman, and since superman not only heard Billies watch activate calling him from another galaxy away and got back to earth, again from another galaxy, within the span of a fight. @@MyAramil what you are describing is probably sloppy writing. ie. the writer doesn't understand galactic distances when he wrote about jimmy's watch. you have to keep stuff like that in mind. which year was the comic written and compare it to popular culture at time. not everything in comics can be instantly and literally canon. Whereas the invincible universe attempts to be more realistic, so when they describe viltrumites FTL speeds, its far more likely to be accurate over the science-gibberish that too often used in the DC universe, and especially in 70s and 80s DC comics. maybe even 90s, physics and galactic knowledge was also still pretty weak.

The last, and most stupid suggestion for a weakness was viltrumites can't survive forever in a sun. DanCo, you forgot to mention that the only reason Invincible, his father, and Thaddeus were able to destroy the planet Viltrum was that the Space Racer softened it up with his blaster first. That example doesn't prove that high-level Viltrumites can physically destroy planets by themselves. When Anissa talked about destroying Earth, she meant destroying all of the people on it, not the planet itself. Also, Mark never matched Thragg in strength, even at the end. The only reason he beat Thragg in the end was because he got help from Robot.
Honestly, i tuned out when he failed to mention that part. So far there is absolutely no feat whatsoever putting Viltrumites (even the strongest ones) at planetary

Worth noting that thragg would’ve killed invincible during their battle on the sun if robot didnt temporarily help mark out. Even while being cooked by a star thragg woulda outlasted invincible had he not had a semi invincible suit on. Shows that even a end of series mark (before timeskip) still needed outside help to put him down, and would have died had allen not saved him. Zod still clears though.
people keep saying Zod can survive in a sun (assuming its yellow because a red sun kills him instantly), but do you have any proof. Superman surviving in a yellow sun is NOT proof, because superman grew up under a yellow sun. Zod DID not. therefore there is reason to believe only superman can survive inside a yellow sun because of his relationship to it, of absorbing its radiation his entire life.
ps. that the 'sun gives kryptonians their power' is a retarded concept, that only makes sense to lazy 60s, 70s, 80s writers. there is zero difference between a red and yellow sun apart from their color being determined by their temperature. kryptonians needs to be rewritten to remove the sun from their source of power. i'm fine with them being able to use solar radiation to "eat" and sustain themselves (like a battery recharge, but recharging my battery does not give it MORE power suddenly, it just restores the existing power), so solar radiation of any kind should not be connected to their source of strength or have the ability to strip away their strength.

I’d say the Eldrazi got it simply because the titans never actually die and I don’t think the Nids can seal them away. It’d probably end in a stalemate though since during their war, they end up eating the entirety of their plain/planet.

Top Tier Kryptonians are above nearly all others, especially their copycat counterparts that have come far after. It's a shame when Supes/Kryptonians are written poorly and underwhelmingly. It takes Dr. Manhattan/Living Tribunal style characters to top Supes/Zod/Superboy Prime, etc. Also, If thragg fought a top tier Kryptonian inside a sun, it would go even more poorly for The Ultimate Viltrumite. A being already at a disadvantage, being drained/melted by the sun while his already superior opponent continually heals and powers up the entire time.
